This charming space will make for one of your more memorable get-aways. Original art and sculpture throughout space. Loft queen bed, down comforters and high thread count linens round out the comfort factor. Captain Nemo Inspired shower is a work of fine art. The living room is full of books (no t.v.) board games, and art supplies. A comfortable daybed sleeps a single, in the living room with the roof deck garden as a private space overlooking downtown.
The building is home to a yoga studio (body&soul) art studio & event space (7squidrow) bodywork and beauty services (bare) located in downtown Santa Cruz. Our Chestnut Street historic district is a beautiful stroll to everything you'd need including an amazing list of cafes and The Penny Ice Creamery all within licking distance.
We are located in a historically significant building, full of amazing art and sculpture. Need to host an event for fifty guests or less, private pop-up dinner party? Our working art studio/event space with petite stage is a magical venue with a secret garden.
Art and cultural workshops are booked through Art duJour and available online. It's a great escape located close to so much.
Surrounded by fine art, sculpture hosted with this amazing historical setting we ask that you don't smoke, use candles or incense during your visit.
Loud music and dancing till dawn is available nearby but frowned upon in-house, as is inviting your party back to the roof deck. We have a working art studio below the apartment and a communal BBQ you can use depending upon current projects or classes/events offered. Thank-you in advance.

The parking: There is street parking available and a covered garage located one block away on Cedar st. If you arrive via train, plane or rocketship we can send a shuttle for you from any of the surrounding airports: San Jose is 45 min way, Monterey 70min. If you need wheels while in the area Zipcar offers cars right near us. In a pinch we'll lend our mini cooper convertible, tandem bicycle or unicycle.
The environ: Industrial in nature the Enterprise Ironworks once contributed historically as an early manufacture spot for gold rush pick axe and shovel.
It's always been a creative space, and the charming Alley of Squid Row is adjacent to the building.
The building served as warehouse/workshop for early Santa Cruz developer Max Walden. The Cooper House was also a Walden Property. The iconic Cooper House spirit still resides here, with a few doors and light fixtures serving as functional history and art. The artist Michael Leeds work is featured throughout the building.
The location: A quiet street of residential sprinkled with a few great health and beauty services, three yoga studios including Body & Soul located in the building. Our local is in close proximity to downtown so you can walk any where yet we offer a world away feeling with easy access to Hwy 1, 17, and 9. The ocean and redwoods offer a backdrop.
We are in a quiet enclave of historically significant Santa Cruzian wonders. The Mission Hill train tunnel just across the street is backdrop to a 1903 snap of then President Teddy Roosevelt en route to Big Basin, historic Victorian homes line Walnut avenue and of course the best slice of downtown Santa Cruz is simply a street away. Cedar St is home to the Penny Ice Creamery, Gabriela's, Planet Fresh, The Limelight Cafe, Jack's Burgers, Cafe Bene and Kuwumba jazz.
The location. Quiet enough to hear nearby frogs. Bike to Neary Lagoon, the beach and the Redwoods of Hwy 9. We are ten min to UCSC, walking distance to the downtown Farmers Market, Sunday Antique Fair.

What to pack: We are located within a Banana Belt of sunny skies or is it a Banana Slug with a sweater? Both really. Bring a sweater or wrap for chilly coastal evenings, and sun screen. It's always a little of both typically.
What to do: We are big fans of all things local. A few things worthy of your time might be Friday Mornings at the Flea Market (short drive) the butterfly park, redwoods along Hwy 9, Warriors Basketball just down the street.
