This ground floor studio in a brand new Chalet offers a queen wall bed, a compact efficient kitchen, a dining table, bathroom, and access to a washer/dryer. It is the least expensive of the 6 apartments in 2 chalets built in the past year, pricing at only 125USD for 2 people during the summer and winter months and 100USD in between those seasons. This studio adjoins an apartment (Lower Snowbird) which accommodates 4 so the 2 together would have 2 bathrooms, altogether accommodating 6 people....or perhaps a family.
After you check in, you'll be welcomed by our Property Manager. She will register you for the "Kurtaxe" which is prepaid with your payment. You will then pickup the "Kurkarte" ID card at the modern Sport Center where you can enjoy indoor swimming and ice-skating free and benefit form discounts at various stores.
Christmas and mid February have 7 night minimum, Saturday to Saturday.
Please take good care of our new chalet, treating as you would your own home. When you leave, kindly leave the kitchen clean with the dishes washed. Enjoy Murren!
Nous avons passé un super séjour au chalet snowbird!!
Équipements et chalet au top!!
Je le recommande!
The Cozy Studio is perfect for two people. The kitchenette is well equipped. This is a new unit, well designed and everything works! The pre arrival instructions are very detailed and clearly stated. Email contact with the owners was prompt and our requests handled promptly.
We had a very pleasant experience and would definitely stay here again.

Affordable basic studio, without many of the extras of the other apartments in this chalet.
The studio had a comfortable queen bed, table/desk, tv, heat through the floor,& plenty of storage/ hanging space. It is good value for the price.
The kitchen was a reasonable size for one person with only basic utensils, a mini bar fridge & no condiments (salt & pepper). The stove top was great, & there is a convection microwave which worked but took About twice as long as my one at home (or any recipe). The other apartments have full kitchens including toasters, kettles etc.
The bathroom was nice with a good shower.
This studio (moose studio) only has one standard/small window and the view from inside is obstructed by the stairs and wood shed.
Outside there is a wonderful view and I understand they are considering putting in external seating for this apartment (all other apartments have this).
I felt the location of the room had a lack of privacy, the apartment next door walks straight pass your window to get to there room as well as anyone using the laundry and supply room. When other guests were staying a preferred to keep the curtains closed which defeated the idea of having view. This may not be an issue for many people used to living in densely populated areas where this is normal.
I had some complications while staying including given the wrong code on airbnb instructions to access the building and no hot water at one stage. The owners in the US were very prompt and helpful in getting the right code to access the apartment.
The property manager is incredibly lovely and organised for me to use the bathroom in the other chalet while the hot water issue was resolved.
Overall if traveling here again with my husband (I was alone this time), I would consider the larger apartments as they have it all and overcome the shortfalls of this studio... But if you are on a budget this could be a good choice.

My Swiss born (Murren!) Olympic skier husband, Beat, and I live in Salt Lake City where I am a Travel Consultant and he is a Ski Area Planner. We have 2 children. He grew up in Murren's 4* Hotel Eiger. At his parent's death, he inherited 2 superb view building lots on the north edge of the Village of Murren. During 2011 and 2012 he has built two chalets, now available for rent. We are avid skiers/hikers. Our family cherishes the extraordinary scenery and village atmosphere of Murren. We're excited to introduce/share it with other skiers/hikers/seekers of Peace, harmony and clean air! Nancy von Allmen
