The Arrow House, is a stylish studio cottage. It is a favorite in our group of three cottages across the street from the Deschutes River and trails that lead to McKay Park, The Old Mill and Les Schwab Amphitheater.
The space is full of cool designer touches like tall barn board walls and a black Smeg refrigerator that make it feel like a miniature modern loft. There is a top of the line king sized bed and a twin lounger futon bed made out of weathered oak pallets. A dual head rain shower and a little private outdoor sitting area make it a great space to get away.
There is a hot tub on the property that is shared by all three cottages, as well as a fire pit, stocked with wood, an herb garden and complimentary bicycles and outdoor toys and games stored in the boat shed.
There is a hot tub and fire pit and gas BBQ shared by the guests of the three cottages. Cottage 1 and Cottage 2 of 911 NW Albany share a yard but have separate entrances and seprate parking spots. We will provide details on where and how to park in your check-in letter.
Interaction with Guests
I like to check you in if I am available and show you around and get you settled. My assistant Anna also may check you in and there is a key box if you are arriving late. I live about 10 minutes away so I am available if needed.
The cottages all sit in one of Bend's best neighborhoods. The river trail that leads to McKay Park is across the street, Columbia park with a pirate ship playground and grassy fields is a block away. You can walk to coffee shops, breweries, live music and entertainment.
The park and ride ski bus leaves to go to Mt. Bachelor from a parking lot about a block away. The bus also goes to the mountain in the summer for hiking and riding the lifts to sight see.
Other Things to Note
This unit is a studio and also has a portable clothing rack to hang clothes and a dresser, but no closet. We do have a 3 night minimum stay required.
Please be respectful of the neighbors and keep noise down after 10 p.m. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Be careful of the cars traveling on Commerce. They go very fast. Keep an eye on your pets at all times. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the property.
Please make sure to observe the hot tub rules. Please be understanding if our hot tub is not operating during your visit. We are not responsible for any injury or illness as a result of the hot tub.
Sarah has fantastic little campus near the Deschutes and walking distance to oh so many breweries. The Arrow House is immaculately designed with great finishes and details like the huge skylight in the bathroom. Lounge and table are not the most comfortable things in the world but maybe you shouldn't be sitting around the house when you're in Bend? Overall Sarah and Anna are awesome. Thanks so much!
I had a really nice stay. The place is very cute and comfy. The king size bed was great. It's close to everything and the host is very responsive.
The place was quiet, facing a small dead end street. I could occasionally hear what sounded like a train whistle but with my white noise machine it didn't bother me at all. Sleep is my most important criteria and I would definitely come back here.
Two things to note that some folks may be interested in: (1) there are skylights so you might want to bring your sleep mask if that's an issue; (2) the stove doesn't seem to have a simmer function -- e.g. even at the lowest strength it was still pretty strong. i found that the trick was to increase my water ratio for making rice from 1.5 to 2.0 and it wasn't a big deal. :)
My husband and I were in town for the New Years holiday (4 nights) and found Sarah's cottage to be the perfect location for all activities. Our reservation and check-in process was quite simple. We were provided thorough detail on directions, parking and accessing the cottage.
We were so impressed by the interior furnishings and décor and felt quite spoiled by the amount of room we had. We can't wait to return and enjoy the cottage during the summer.
My parents have stayed in the Arrow house 2 separate times. Sarah and Anna do a wonderful job making them feel welcome. They love the cozy feel of the Arrow house. In the summer the yard is a lovely place to sit and visit. I love recommending the Cottages for out of town guests.
WE LOVED THE ARROW HOUSE.
It was exactly as pictured but even better in reality.
The bed was HUGE. And comfy.
Every time I would say "I wish there were fluffy robes", my boyfriend would say, "Here they are!" Ditto for the dish rack, the clothes rack etc.
We used the hot tub. Not the bikes (but they are there and ready for riders). The fire pit, the picnic table, etc NEXT TIME!
The Arrow Cottage was perfect! Well-located, comfortable, and freakishly adorable. Seriously, if we could have stuffed the whole place in our suitcases, we might have. I also loved how close it was to everything downtown. We were able to walk almost everywhere we went. Anna was helpful and friendly, and easy to get ahold of. We had a great weekend and will almost certainly be back.
The cottage was so clean and cozy with lots of thoughtful details. We were gone all day checking out the local site (highly recommend the painted hills, a couple hours north).
Would love to come back and veg out in the big king size bed with the snuggly blankets and pillows and double shower head.

My husband and I and our three children live on a small farm outside of Bend with a passel of dogs, a cat and two horses. I am an interior designer in Bend and love to restore and save older homes.
