The space

Very clean and bright fully-equipped apartment just up the hill from the historic village of Bethel. Private bath and comfortable, real bed for two adults, plus a fold-out couch and chair for small children or teens. Plenty of privacy on your own deck surrounded by trees, lots of hot water in the shower/tub, and a flat-screen Direct TV to watch the Red Sox and an ipod dock to listen to your own tunes. An hour away from the ocean and in the middle of the best leaf-peeping in the northeast, not to mention the fine dining at the many village inns. Our street Paradise Road lives up to its name: quiet, tree-lined, and picturesque with beautiful views of the mountains with their numerous hiking trails. Come to fly fish, play golf, rent a canoe or kayak for the many rivers and ponds all around. We are also only a short distance from the Appalachian Trail where some of our guests have hiked it a section at a time.

Late check in accommodation was a big help and the breakfast supplies were very appreciated. I love the layout of the apartment. It's also very peaceful yet so close to Bethel. A great find with delightful hosts.

Response from Bruce:
Thanks so much, Mary. I want to send you a copy of FORTUNATE SONS but don't have an email address other than this contact through airbnb and they delete any such info. Would you send me a regular email from the address listed on my website which is simply my name with a "www" before it and (URL HIDDEN) after? I'll send back a copy of the chapbook that I want to dedicate to Ben Cross.

The house is on Paradise Rd., which is as beautiful as it sounds with its mountain views. The house was clean and cozy, and Bruce and Victoria made it so easy to check in. They provided everything we cpuosve needed. The most interesting thing about staying here, is that Bruce is a published writer, and you can find his book in the bedroom! Really great surrounding city, and a nice place to stay. We'd love to visit again!

This is a fabulous apartment located not too far from the many sights and lovely restaurants of Bethel. Super clean and inviting, we were very impressed with this apartment. We truly appreciated the hospitality and small touches our hosts put into making us feel welcome! Breakfast supplies, local menus and even binoculars and a bird watching book on the picture window make this place and our hosts super special!

We had a nice stay at Bruce and Victoria's and really loved Bethel. Reviews we read on the space are very accurate. It's large and very comfortable. Bruce helped me with information on Nova Scotia, where we'll be heading in 10 days, and they also had some good suggestions for dining options, and local sights. We made a road trip up to Mount Washington, and did a lot of driving around the area. Grafton Notch is worth seeing as well. A number of good dining options in Bethel, and it's a beautiful area.

This apartment is a beautiful, spacious and comfortable place to stay near town and just down the street from an amazing view of the mountains. What more can you ask for?!

Lovely, comfortable and quiet place. Very pleasant walk to the village of Bethel. Close to lakes and hiking. Other than a small miscommunication regarding the number of guests, Bruce was a great host. We enjoyed staying here :)

Response from Bruce:
My mistake, Aiham. Somehow the third guest payment got by me. So sorry. Hope you guys had a good time, and thanks for leaving the place in fine shape. And those damn ants have been a problem all spring and summer, despite our having an exterminator at the place.

I am a retired university professor and a well-published and recognized poet. My wife is a fine jeweler, working in silver and gold, but also she is a real rock hound and loves creating settings for the stones she finds. Together we have five children and four granddaughters. I am an avid fly fisherman and Red Sox fan. We love to travel, meet new people and learn about other cultures. We have traveled extensively and just returned from Iceland where we used Air BnB for all our over-night accommodations.
