We have built a gorgeous and serene handcrafted multi story loft space in East Williamsburg. Enjoy our home and all that our wonderful neighborhood has to offer. 1.5 blocks to the subway!

The Space

Exposed wood beams and brick, fireplace, fantastic art, objects & roof deck. It almost doesn't seem like you’re in Brooklyn when you’re in our home. We currently have two bedrooms available in a three bedroom loft. One private bedroom with a brand new queen size bed. A shared bathroom and shower directly connected to the laundry room free for you to use. We also have a 6000 sq foot multi level roof with multiple seating areas and a gas/charcoal grill with smoker.

In the winter time enjoy sitting in front of our gorgeous mid century conical fireplace. Large kitchen with all the bells and whistles including a dishwasher. French press coffee maker. We always have plenty of gorgeous towels and linens as well as fresh soaps. There is always fabulous coffee.

Bicycles upon request.

5 minute walk to the L Train. Several neighborhoods at the ready with great shopping, restaurants, cafes and bars. Our place is located right next to a very loved jaunt called the Anchored Inn as well as a music venue the Acheron and a sweet little cafe called Newtown. Our neighborhood is rich with street art, interesting people and amazing places to see.

My husband and I are super friendly people and would be more than happy to show you around or give you ideas or advice to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.

We also love kids - we have an eight year old of our own. . The roof is completely fenced off. There is a tree house, swing, see saw, tether ball and hop scotch as well as a bunch of toys. Kids love it over here as do adults :)

I hope you love staying in our home as much as we do!

Interaction with Guests

Sometimes were around a lot - last year we took 28 trips to art shows. This year seems to be similar. We have another place to stay so if privacy is your thing that is not a problem!

The Neighborhood

Our neighborhood and Brooklyn in particular is having a renaissance right now. Most people here make things with pride whether it be music or whisky. Everything is handcrafted and that quality is reflected in the local business and restaurants. There are so many great places to buy local handmade work and locally grown food..

Getting around

We are located 1.5 blocks from the L Train as well as several bus lines. I like the Q59 that goes right into Williamsburg proper.

Other Things to Note

Our home is professionally maintained by Airbnb's partner Handybook.

Please note that this is a shared bathroom. The bathroom needs to stay pretty open Mon - Friday 7 am - 7:45 am to allow our son plenty of time to get ready for school.

Chances are you will be sharing the house with another airbnb guests. Please be respectful of the other guests.

We keep a fully stocked cabinet of everything you could need while travelling from toothpaste to allergy meds.

All bedding is 100% cotton and the comforters and pillows are hypo allergenic.

We use unscented organic vegetable based laundry detergent. If you know that you are allergic to vegetable based detergent please let me know and we will use something else.

We have one cat named pp (perfect pretty) she’s around 10ish. She’s a very low maintenance outdoor cat. She basically comes and goes at her leisure.

Please note that one of our studios and a bar are connected to our house. Studio mates typically start working between 10 am and 12 pm on weekdays and end around 6 pm. Sunday is very quiet. The bar is open until 4 am. If you are a very light sleeper I recommend ear plugs - certain nights you can hear faint music.

Our plumbing is very old - please no tampons in the toilet.

  • Elissa was by far the best host anyone could ask for. She was friendly, accommodating, helped us find the best spots to go during our short trip in NYC, and even gave my fellow travellers help with the rest of their journey across the USA. The loft is beautiful - clean, comfortable, and close to so many amazing spots - plus right near the L train. Elissa, and her family, made us feel more welcome than we expected - like we were visiting old friends. You'd be silly not to book this place.

  • I stayed at Elissa and Jays place with my girlfriend and our one-year-old boy. We really loved it. Elissa and Jay were very friendly and outgoing, and their house is awesome. The coolest thing is their roof terrace which is a great place to drink a bottle of wine and eat a pizza from the nearby hipster pizzeria Robertas at a summer night.
Montrose metro station is very close so you can easily take the train to Manhattan or Bedford Avenue.
To top it off, there is a bar and a little coffee shop next door. We can definitely recommend anyone to stay at Jay and Elissas.

  • My wife and I loved our stay with Elissa and Jay, who went out of their way to provide a memorable Airbnb experience. Very cool and helpful people. Their place is spotless and beautifully decorated. The neighborhood has great street art and you're walking distance to lots of restaurants/bars (go to Roberta's) and the subway. I'll be back next year for Bushwick Open Studios!

  • We loved our stay with Elissa and her family and couldn't have asked for a better place to explore East Williamsburg and NY-city from. The house and its interiors are gorgeous and we loved the roof-deck, such a great place to kick back after a day of walking and exploring! Elissa was great both prior and during our stay, and gave us tons of tips on restaurants and fun things to explore. The loft is located just a block away from the L-train, so getting in to the city worked easy as well.

About
my name is elissa and I'm from Brooklyn NY. My husband Jay and I are enamelists and we travel the country exhibiting at museums and fine art and craft shows. We always mix in a lot of fun with our work. We love meeting new people, trying great food, and camping along the way. We're really excited about trying aribnb. Jay and I are super polite and will make great guests and hosts. We are both non-smoking laid back people. I love to collect american craft specifically but love all aspects of art, craft, design and architecture. My favorite places to travel to are in Asia. I love Beijing. I seek out as authentic as possible asian food wherever we go. My husband Jay and I are very adventurous outdoors people. We camp 7 months out the year. We also have the most fab 9 year old son Cougar who inspires and delights us every second of the day. Doing things with him makes everything more fun.
