Sunny Castro Room with Closet

Apartment - Private room · Sanchez Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States

The Space

Duboce Triangle is a peaceful little neighboring community of The Castro. This room is located within one block of the Church Street MUNI station and accessible to almost all MUNI lines. Centrally located, we are only one block from Duboce Park, Two blocks from Castro, ten minutes from Downtown and provide many nightlife and day time activities for the San Francisco Visitor. Take the F line straight to Fisherman's Wharf and the Ferry Building or the 22 MUNI to Ghirardelli Square or The Fillmore (music Venue in Jazz District). There is always something exciting to see in San Francisco!

The room is in a quiet residential street set back from the bustle of The Castro. The Bay window provides lots of sun (don't worry- there are blinds too!) It features hardwood floors, a memory foam Queen sized bed, organic cotton sheets and free access to WiFi (just ask). This is a city, so street noise is possible. If you're a light sleeper, please check out my other listings in same flat, which faces away from the street.

You're welcome to use the large, modern kitchen and supplies and the extra half bath makes mornings a breeze. It's a great place to call home while you stay, and a quick trip to anywhere in SF!

With nearly every bus line running through the Church Street MUNI, you can get everywhere you want to go in minutes. Downtown and SoMa are a ten minute bus ride, the Marina is 15-20 and Hayes Valley takes but a few minutes on the wonderful F Line Trolley!

But why leave the neighborhood at all!? A short walk gets you to bakeries, restaurant, clubs and bars- you have your pick in this neighborhood. I'm happy to suggest my favorites if interested, let me know!

I have plenty of maps and suggestions for activities that are outside the normal tourist box if you are interested. I've lived in SF for 8 years and there are always new and exciting things to do!

  • A wonderful Airbnb community in the heart of San Francisco, tidied up, themed rooms and a Master Kitchen at your disposal. Even though I have not met Ambere personally, her flat mate was a lovable man, great for a chat about the local food & art scene and always available when needed. The reservation process with Ambere was efficient and easy. I would go back anytime.

  • Hmm.. These people where really nice but I rented the room for 2 data and only stayed for one even though i paid for 2 because I was so horrified about the cleanliness. My sheets hadn't been washed for previous visitor. There was hair in my bed and the sheets smelled musty the bathroom had mold toothpaste and hair in the sink. There was an electronic toothbrush in the sink that had an inch of mold on it that I literally gagged at. I don't know how someone could use that. Arg.
The room itself was cute but and the person who greater me and was messaging me where sweet but I couldn't get past the other unsanitary conditions. Basically it was a vey expensive 1 night stay since I paid for the weekend.

  • Thanks so much for a great and comfortable stay in San Francisco. Very central and convenient location.

  • My stay here was great. Though I never met Ambere in person, she is very accommodating and responsive to all of my inquiries and request through the text/email exchanges, and that made everything smooth and nice. Thanks to her special arrangement of an earlier check-in, I didn't have to drag the baggage around for long either.

The room was clean and minimum. Exactly what I wanted. I used the kitchen several times, and had no problem with it.

As other reviewers are noted, there's a fire station near by. I'm sensitive to noise, but it only woke me up at the first night, perhap being tired enough from my adventures outside during the daytime.

Needless to say, it's in a great location with a great options of public transportations, supermarkets, and local coffee shops. I would especially recommend to those who wants to live like a local.

  • We had a fine stay with some good and some less than good. Though it wasn't a nightmare by any means, I'd probably look for a different place next time I'm in San Fran.

The good: the flat is a short walk to San Fran's best neighbourhood, The Mission. It's also a stone's throw from Market Street, which is pretty much the backbone of transit in the city, including trolleys and MUNI trains. Ambere was also very responsive to messages and offered excellent suggestions for bars, restaurants, etc.

The not-so-good: the flat had a bit a rooming house feel to it. The kitchen was the only shared space but it was rare to see people in it and people just seemed to come and go from the flat. The ad notes that there's a modest amount of street noise but in reality, the flat is next door to a fire station. Sirens were not infrequent and the windows are single-pane glass.

The bathrooms also weren't especially clean (though they weren't gross either), and the carpet in the hall between the rooms and bathroom/kitchen looked like it should've been vacuumed/cleaned.

Wild card: Ambere told us ahead of time she wouldn't be in SF while we were. As I noted above, she was responsive, very friendly and had great taste in places based on the e-mails exchanged ahead of time so it's possible that in her absence we had an unusual experience.

  • Ambere was a great host, very accommodating, provided useful information, quiet, experienced with airbnb travelers.
The room was clean, true to the description.
The location was excellent, close to many transport transits, easy access, safe neighborhood.
Overall recommend this place for short and medium stays in San Francisco.

  • Ambere was friendly and welcoming. The bed was quite comfy and the linens so soft. Location is really convenient to lots of public transportation, as well as plenty of interesting restaurants, bakeries, and shops. Her place worked well for me while visiting family in the neighborhood.

  • Ambere immediately was helpful, from the time I arrived at the airport to the time I showed up with my luggage. She's attentive and helpful. She knows a lot about the city and gives great pointers and answered all of my questions, which was really helpful. The apartment was clean and cozy. The room was absolutely charming. Comfy memory foam beds with beautiful Bay windows in the heart of San Francisco. She's very conversational, friendly and personably. I immediately felt like I had known her for years. She's also very busy lady and let's you do your own thing. She's easy going and I had no problem respecting her property and space, since the place was so nice to begin with. Thank you Ambere! Will be back soon for sure! :))

  • Ambere is a fantastic host and her place is great! The room is nice, sunny and clean. The apartment is in a quiet corner of the area, but in a short walk from many distractions of the neighborhood. Easy access to public transportation. Ambere is very helpful with any questions you may have about exploring SFO. I had a great stay and slept like a baby on those soft bed sheets and pillows.
