The space

Comfortable and peaceful one-room studio with adjacent own kitchen, own toilet and own shower. Only the stairs up to the studio are shared by the house owners. The studio is situated in the Bellamybuurt, a lovely part of Amsterdam Oud-West, an easy-going and friendly neighborhood with a nice mix of new interesting developments vs. old-style architecture. Famous and very nearby are De Hallen, an nineteenth-century tram depot, converted into a huge food court, an art film cinema, shops etc. De Hallen foodstalls and the neighborhood have people from many ethnic backgrounds.
The Ten Kate-markt, the local outdoor market is just around the corner of the street, and is great for fresh produce, bread, juice, flowers, etc. Oud-West is filled with nice cafes, small bakeries, lunchrooms, outdoor terraces, shops, stores, greenery and trees. The tram stop is around the corner of Ten Kate-markt.

The studio has its own entrance, you just share the communal stairs, but do not have to cross any personal space, so privacy for both guests and host. It has a real double bed and a sofa that can easily be changed into a comfortable single bed. It is suitable for 2 adults (you can sleep together or apart/sofa), and a child (sofa). It is too small for three adults (unless you are family and know ecah other intimately), but it depends how you want to use it.
The kitchen has all facilities (incl. fridge, microwave, cooker) and cooking utensils.
All bed linen, towels and kitchen linen are provided.
You can open the double doors to sit on the balcony, with a lush garden view, trees and birds in the middle of the city. It is newly renovated, everything fresh and built into place.

Walking distance:
- Museumplein (Stedelijk Museum, Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Concertgebouw): 12 mins (or just 2 tram stops: tram 3 and 12).
- Jordaan: 8 mins.
- Grachtengordel (the ring of canals): 10 mins.
- Central Station: 40 mins (12 mins tram: tram 7 or 17)
- ‘9 Straatjes’: 12 mins
- Dam Square: 20 mins. (8 mins tram)
- Vondelpark: 12 mins.

We are proud of offering you a clean and pleasant place to lodge and relax during your stay in Amsterdam. We are not always able to make up the bed before you come, but will make sure everything is really clean and fresh bed linen and towels are provided.

Astrid's studio is perfect for a stay in Amsterdam. The location is far enough from the city to be quiet, but there is still plenty to do in the area and it's just a short walk or metro to the center of the city. The studio was very clean and had all of the essentials. Astrid's communication was excellent and allowed us to get to the studio with ease, as it was our first time in Europe and using public transportation! The outdoor market is right next to the house and allowed us to buy fresh and delicious food daily. It is also close to Food Hellen, which is an excellent place to eat. There is a bike rental place close if you want to tour the city like the locals!

Solid place to stay in Amsterdam. There is a wonderful market right outside of the Airbnb, and a really nice food hall (Foodhallen) right around the corner. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted (museums, coffee shops, yoga studios, park). Would highly recommend staying here if you are in Amsterdam.

Astrid's place was amazing!! The studio was perfect for me and my girlfriend, just the right size, cozy and clean. The food hall right by the apartment was ideal for dinner and drinks. I would highly recommend anyone staying in Amsterdam to stay with Astrid!

As other reviewers have noted, the location of the Bellamy studio is excellent, and space in the apartment is used very intelligently, so that it feels larger than it is. All the essentials (and more) are provided, and there is a fine small library about Amsterdam (architecture, history). Great communication with Astrid and Nico. We found the recommendations in the 'welcome' folder useful and accurate and would certainly hope to stay in the studio again if we return to Amsterdam.

It truly felt like home. We were able to comfortably cook, work, and take advantage of everything the amazing Ten Katestraat market (less than a block away) has to offer. We followed all of Astrid's recommendations and totally fell in love with the cool neighborhood. We had only one unforeseen issue arise while we were there, and Astrid and Nico showed up to resolve it immediately. Staying here really made our trip to Amsterdam great. Astrid is a wonderful host.

The apartment is clean and comfortable for two people. Astrid and Nico were generous hosts, providing us with fresh fruit and beverages upon our arrival. The cupboard is stocked with basic needs for cooking. We were provided with clean towels and linens. There is a great outdoor market and numerous grocers and eateries in walking distance. The tram stop is also close. We had a very nice time in beautiful Amsterdam.

Astrid User ProfileAstrid is a superhost.

As a guest: reliable, quiet, clean, appreciates privacy.
Interested in contemporary art, architecture.
Work: art publisher, organizer of art events, cultural events, have to travel a lot for this work, meeting colleagues, organizing events abroad (no large budgets in this world, so both the possibility to use a personal space, rather than an anonymous hotel; and the moderate prices of rooms and apartments appeal to me).
Very often I travel with my partner Nico; he also works in the art book trade.

As hosts: Nico and I have travelled a lot and we know how important a comfortable, clean and pleasant room is, so that is what we like to offer to other people. We like to receive people, we also like some privacy.
