Bellamy Studio Amsterdam

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Bellamystraat, Amsterdam, North Holland 1053, Netherlands

The Space

Comfortable and peaceful one-room studio with adjacent (own) kitchen, toilet, shower and toilet. The studio is situated in the Bellamybuurt, a lovely part of Amsterdam Oud-West, an easy-going and friendly neighborhood with a nice mix of new interesting developments vs. old-style architecture. With people from many ethnic backgrounds.
The Ten Kate-markt, the local outdoor market is just around the corner of the street, and is great for fresh produce, bread, juice, flowers, etc. Oud-West is filled with nice cafes, small bakeries, lunchrooms, outdoor terraces, shops, stores, greenery and trees. The tram stop is around the corner of Ten Kate-markt.

The studio has its own entrance, you just share the communal stairs, but do not have to cross any personal space, so privacy for both guests and host. It has a real double bed and a sofa that can easily be changed into a comfortable single bed. It is suitable for 2 adults (you can sleep together or apart/sofa), and a child (sofa). It might be a bit small for three adults, but it depends how you want to use it.
The kitchen has all facilities (incl. fridge, microwave, cooker) and cooking utensils.
You can open the double doors to sit on the balcony, with a lush garden view, trees and birds in the middle of the city. It is newly renovated, everything fresh and built into place.

  • Very lovely little apartment in a great neighborhood! Many parts of Amsterdam are easily accessibly by foot but there is also easy access on various tram lines. The apartment is very clean and well maintained and the kitchen was well stocked with several staples. There are loads of grocery options at the market around the corner as well as convenient grocery stores nearby.
Astrid was very accommodating and met us as soon as we arrived. They had several suggestions for good restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

  • AWESOME at any level absolutely any!!
This studio is probably the cutest one in holland, not mention the street!
The street where the studio is, its goergeos it is like a tiny nothing hill but improved i'd say, around the corner you have this a-ma-zing market with incredibly nice food, sweet and savory (we had our breakfasts and lunches there for 4 days!).
The studio is to a walking distance from anywhere in Amsterdam, 15-20 minutes walking from the centre? That's nothing! specially when there is so much to look at.
The flat per se it is just perfect, very comfortable bed, dining table facing to the balcony and the buiding's garden, good size kitchen with more utensils you would use, brilliant shower (OMG i could have spent hours in there) and a very red sofa for a quick nap after a loooong walk. All super clean.
Astrid was extremely helpful and kind.
I could not recommend the bellamy studio highly enough.
A shame we couldnt stay longer!

  • Wonderful place and easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Astrid was so accommodating and this place was wonderful for our short stay.

  • We had a fantastic time in Amsterdam! Astrid's studio is super. It is extremely easy to get to from the Airport via an initial quick train journey followed by a tram approx 25-30mins in total. Astrid sent us very clear directions before our trip, together with information for collecting the key and some lovely suggestions for places to visit. She was very welcoming when we met her and happy to help if we had any questions etc. The studio is a perfect size for a couple or two friends. It is basis but provides all the comforts you will need for your stay; comfy double bed, clean bedding/ towels, hairdryer, wardrobe, kitchenette with plenty of amenities etc. Astrid also provides a range of interesting books, leaflets and maps on Amsterdam. Another advantage is the daily market (except Sunday) with fresh food etc around the corner from the studio. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, pubs within walking distance. We walked everywhere! The places Astrid has listed are only a few of your options...there is plenty to see and do in Amsterdam. We found a quirky local restaurant approx 15mins walk 'Hap Hmm' in Helmersstraat - definitely worth a visit! We also had a fantastic cheese tasting session at Reypenaer Cheese - a longer walk but worth it! We will definitely be back to visit Amsterdam and hope to stay in Bellamy Studio again. We are already recommending Astrid's studio to friends and family!

  • THANK YOU Astrid. we had a fantastic stay at Bellamy Studio. There was 3 of us in the studio which (friends) i think was to many, mainly because the shower has no door so getting privacy to shower was impossible, its perfect for a couple. We couldnt have asked for a better location. and the instructions given by astrid lead us right there. we even walked in to the city which took about 15-20 mins at a medium pace. it was super clean, there were loads of towels and some leftover food from previous guests which was a little bonus.

  • It was great to stay there. Astrid was very hospitable and nice. There were a complimentary beers and everything what you need inside the flat, which was cleen and comfortable.
Good area (5 mins by tram to center of the city), there are plentys restaurant and bars around, food market on the morning on this street and you could walk up to the north also (a lot of shops and museums on your way).

  • Astrid is a very helpful and attentive host and her level of communication is exceptional. She gave us privacy, but made it clear that she would be available to answer any queries.

The studio was very clean and comfortable and there were even a few beers in the fridge! There is also a hairdryer, so no need to pack your own.

Although the studio is quite a walk from the centre (around 30 minutes), it is very accessible by tram, which is on the next street. We did walk to the centre every day and night; it is a lovely, straight-forward walk over the canals, however, it took it's toll on our feet so I would recommend making use of the trams!

The journey from the airport is extremely easy; a 10 minute train journey from the airport to Amsterdam Central and a 15 minute tram journey to the apartment. All were conveniently located outside each other.

Overall, I would definitely recommend both Astrid and her apartment, we would definitely stay there again.

  • HI all,

The place is just as is described in the web, small but with all what you need as a couple, the terrace has a green view, the neighborhood is good and very close to Amsterdam Cengtre, in fact we walk almost all the time to get there...
The explanation to get there by Tram was easy and correct. I would recommend this apartament to a couple!

  • I am very happy about our airbnb place in Amsterdam. The communication was great, and Astrid was very kind. We got a lot of information beforehand, and the studio is so easy to reach from the airport! It maybe took us 30 minutes to get there.
Also the location is perfect. There is a tram 3 minutes away from the studio, and we also walked to the city center a couple of times to see the Grachten. It's about 30 minutes by feet.
I stayed there with my two girlfriends, and we were sleeping together in the bed which I can't recommend (it was very cosy), but Astrid warned us before that the couch would be good for a kid but too small for an adult. It was fine anyway, we were perfectly happy with the studio.

To eat I can recommend a thai place (Ko Chang) which reachable by feet (approximately 10 min).

Thanks for a wonderful time in Amsterdam!

    Response from Astrid:

Thanks for the great comment, Philomena. About the couch: I do think it is suitable for an adult to sleep (it is 80 cm wide which is not kingsize, but for many was wide enough). When you had left I saw that you used the mattress undercover (to cover the prickly wool of the sofa) as a duvet. That is too small to sleep under and I can imagine that the person sleeping there was uncomfortable and cold. Sorry for not explaining properly!

  • We spend a lovely time. Te flat is nice, Astrid and her friends are very very friendly and helpful. With few notes and maps on the table, you have everything you need when you booked with astrid.
    Thank you so much.

About
As a guest: reliable, quiet, clean, appreciates privacy. Interested in contemporary art, architecture. Work: art publisher, organizer of art events, cultural events, have to travel a lot for this work, meeting colleagues, organizing events abroad (no large budgets in this world, so both the possibility to use a personal space, rather than an anonymous hotel; and the moderate prices of rooms and apartments appeal to me). Very often I travel with my partner Nico; he also works in the art book trade. As hosts: Nico and I have travelled a lot and we know how important a comfortable, clean and pleasant room is, so that is what we like to offer to other people. We like to receive people, we also like some privacy.
