Welcome to our home! We have rented this home in the past and plan to begin renting again in the spring of 2015. We hope that you will love your stay here. Keep an eye on the calendar for available dates and rates.
We love our house and are happy to share it with all of our friends, including you! Please read this carefully, because there will be a few changes coming before Spring 2015. THERE IS A THREE NIGHT MINIMUM FOR UVA GRADUATION WEEKEND. Currently, we have 4 bedrooms (1 master suite, one queen room, and with double bunk beds... the last room is the playroom, but can easily fit an air mattress or two). By spring of 2015, we will be converting the blue child's room to a proper adult room with a full sized bed. We will then put double bunk beds and a futon into what is now the play room, to accommodate children or adults easily. There are 2.5 baths, one in the master suite with separate water closet and a jetted tub, another full bath upstairs, and a half bath downstairs. The kitchen is open and has all the normal appliances plus a dishwasher and disposal, and you have a breakfast nook as well as a dining room. Hardwood floors are throughout the downstairs, and carpet upstairs. Full laundry room upstairs as well. You will have access to linens and kitchen items. Wifi, DVD/blue-ray player and way-too-many cable TV channels are available.
We are a 20 minute drive from University of Virginia and Charlottesville. There are more than 20 wineries within a 15 mile radius of the house, and some of the best are no more than 5-10 minutes away. We live in a friendly neighborhood and Crozet has a number of quaint restaurants and shops. There is a lot of hiking and nature around.
We have a non-shedding dog of our own and the house is equipped with doggie doors that lead out to the completely fenced yard. Your house-trained, well-behaved canine companion is welcome for an additional fee. (Our dog will not be there when we are not there!) Please remember that this is the house that we live in, so the closets/drawers are full with "our stuff" and we appreciate your treating our house like you would want yours to be treated. We expect to be moving by the fall of 2015, but either way, there will be a place in each bedroom to put suitcases and the like. If you have kids, feel free to play with our games and enjoy the playroom, just please put things away when you're done.
Come on by for a stay. You will be greeted with a bottle of local wine or other local treat! Our house is your house!
Guests have access to the whole house, but keep in mind that we live here all around the year, so our "stuff" will be in the drawers and closets.
Interaction with Guests
I'm always available via phone/text, and work with my guests according to what they would like.
The neighborhood is very close to downtown (walking distance) and our neighbors are very friendly if you are out for a walk. There are lots of places to run/walk/bike near here. Please take a look at the guidebook at what's nearby.
Other Things to Note
In the spring/summer of 2015, we will probably be packing to move, so garage access can't be guaranteed, although we have plenty of driveway parking. Our plan is to convert this house into a full-time rental after our move.
No smoking or drugs on premises. Absolutely no cats. Neighbors appreciate quiet in the yard after 10pm, but they won't hear your reasonable clamor in the house. Please clean up after your dog if you bring one, and keep the dog leashed in the front yard and in the neighborhood.
Carrie made it very easy for us to visit the Charlottesville area and stay at her house. She was a kind and thoughtful host. Her home was the perfect amount of space, and provided a nice break for us.
We enjoyed our stay in Carrie's home. The location was great and the house was just as advertised. Carrie was very responsive before and during our stay. Highly recommend.
Carrie was a kind and generous host, orienting us to the area, as we are preparing to move, and even helping bring us to a wonderful festival at the local Elementary School. The home is in beautiful shape, well cared for, with lots of room and many comforts. The location is convenient, and there is a beautiful view of the sunrise!
Great house, just as pictured. We really enjoyed staying in Crozet near our future wedding venue to do some planning activities over the weekend. Carrie was wonderful, giving us a virtual tour of the place and making recommendations via text over the whole weekend for anything we needed. Thanks!
This was my first experience with Airbnb and what a wonderful experience it was!! My daughter was getting married and I needed adequate kitchen space as well as space for relatives for the weekend. This was Carrie's first time hosting, but you would never have known it. She greeted me warmly, gave me a tour of her beautiful home, and quickly left. Fresh flowers, a nice bottle of wine and snacks were a nice "extra".
The backyard is perfect for a bit of relaxing or sharing a glass of wine. It's shady and private and I never really heard the neighbors.
My granddaughter and I caught the sun coming up and it was spectacular. We also saw horses and deer in the field across from her house.
I highly recommend Carrie. I definitely will return if the opportunity presents itself for an extended stay in the Charlottesville area.
Oh, and by the way, don't miss an opportunity to try Crozet Pizza!

Currently living in Virginia... I love to travel and love to meet interesting people along the way!
I love living in Crozet, for the fresh air, the open spaces, and the closeness to such a cool town (Charlottesville)! But when I travel, I love to go to Europe, and many cities across the US (especially San Francisco and Chicago), or just head to a nearby beach or take a road trip up the east coast!
I see Airbnb as a way to pay it forward and hope that my guests do too!
