About This Listing
Double roomin a 3 bed quiet apartment right in the city centre. Very easy to walk to from train station and close to all the attractions! Full access to kitchen! Wifi is of course included :)
Please note that the two listings under my name are in the same apartment. Due to unknown technical problem of airbnb I can't show them at the same address...
This beautiful and airy apartment is suited in the heart of Edinburgh on Calton Hill where the famous observatory is. Princes street, North Bridge and Calton hill are all within 1 min's walk and Royal Mile is about 2. There are probably 20 buses within 1 mins' walking distance, and Edinburgh Waverley station is within 300 meters. Super close to all the famous landmarks and this is the perfect location for your visit to this magnificent city.
Driving in Edinburgh is not recommended as there is no free street parking in the city centre. And if you do drive here, there is a NCP parking 100 meters away or you can use the paid street parking on Regent Road.
There are two rooms available in this 3 bed flat. the one advertised here has a double bed (the other room also listed on Airbnb has a super king bed) and a wardrobe for you to use.
There are one bathroom with WC and another separate WC room, so no queuing up for toilet in the morning :)
Feel free to use the living room and kitchen (as long as you clean your dishes). I have everything you would expect in a kitchen. Tea/coffee/bread/cereal/milk etc are all there for you to have too.
WIFI covers the whole flat.
Fresh towels and hair-dryer are all provided. If you need things such as shower gel, shampoo, umbrella etc just ask :) Oh and i have a printer, you can print your boarding passes ;)
And if you are travelling from outside the UK and would like a SIM card ready for you to use, give me a shout in advance I will get one for you so you don't have to pay the expensive roaming charge
Interaction with Guests
And a bit about myself: I am a freelance artist and always flexible about time. Not the kind that get annoyed when my guests come home late-- I don't need to wake up for work in the morning :D So feel free to explore Edinburgh and I am always here to help.
I am generally in my own room and you probably even notice i am here :) And if you are a single traveller and would like some company I might do that too! Always good to make some new friends ;)
Very central but pretty quiet. Even a lot of locals don't know about my street because it's pretty much hidden away from the main roads. Very safe so don't worry if you go out in the nights.
Train station is very close and buses are plenty. Airport bus final stop is also just 5 mins walk away outside the train station.
Other Things to Note
Flat is upper floor
follow the same rules as if you were sharing a flat with housemates
We were extremely happy with our stay. The house was more beautiful than expected, and the location couldn't be more perfect. Lisa's roommate, Susan, was very kind and welcoming. I would definitely recommend!
Lisa doesn't live there (anymore) so we never got to see her. A guest (suzan) welcomed us, she was very nice. The apartment was just like on the photos. It was nice and light and really close to the center, so it's a perfect place to stay to discover Edinburgh. The neighbourhood was in the centre, yet in a quite area. There was another couple staying as well, which wasn't a problem, but it would have been nice to know that beforehand.
What a lovely room! It was comfortable and cozy. Plus it was a short walk from the centre.
Lisa was very welcoming and we had an excelent time in Edinburgh. HIGLY recommended.
We stayed at Lisa's for 2 nights in early May. The flat is well located for easy access to the central attractions, ie royal mile, bars and restaurants. Unfortunately the room was very dirty, under and behind the bed had thick dust and hairs, receipts on the floor from previous guests I assume. We aren't fussy and always go with cheap and cheerful but really thought the cleanliness was an issue. We also put 2 beers in the shared fridge, souvenirs from our trip up Ben Nevis for parents, one of the other housemates drank the beer knowing it wasn't theirs. Suzanne the house manager apologised and promised to replace it (although they only sell the beer in fort William) but this never materialised which was really disappointing as we obviously couldn't go back to Ben Nevis to get another before flying home. Also the bathroom was dirty and the shower really weak. Unfortunately because of the above we felt there are much better options, even for the price. Also be aware that the house feels very much like a student house share, so if that's not what you are after then it might not be for you.
We had only through e-mail and SMS contact with Lisa. The contact, however, was perfect and clear.
We were welcomed by a tenant who is now back to Skye. He has guided us perfectly through the house and indicated what things we could all use.
The big plus is the location, but unfortunately the bed where we slept on terrible. Every time I turned in my sleep, I was awakened by the sound of the creaking bed. Too bad, because otherwise the apartment was fine.
But for the location close to the center, I would go there again.
