Enjoy this boutique one-bedroom apartment with stunning sea-views located in the history-steeped town of Senglea within walking distance to Birgu and 3 (but intense) minutes ferry to Valletta. The apartment has a variety of original Maltese features and provides an authentic experience.
In the hart of the historic Malta, set right at the magnificent waterfront of the oldest of the Three cities (founded by the Knights in 1552), this apartment offers stunning views, authentic historical setting for the sophisticated traveler and all the modern conveniences at a knock-down price! Among the latter we count convenient ferry, bus and water taxi transport links to Valletta and beyond, exquisite restaurant and bar outlets just across the creek, plus the numerous local establishments at hand.
The apartment is furnished with a tasteful emphasis on the original Maltese features now rapidly disappearing throughout the island's noisier and busier tourist areas. These features include traditional patterned tiles (to keep the weary traveler's feet cool in the heat), traditional Maltese balcony insightfully converted into a dining room with breath-taking views of the Grand harbour and the cities of Valletta and Vittoriosa (beautiful settings should finally be counted as the necessary condition for healthy eating and living!). Old wooden beams adorn the aristocratic high ceilings, adding a touch of nostalgic grandeur.
All this combines to offer an unbeatable travel experience which breaks radically with the standardized mass hotel packages of today's tourist industry. Come and explore a little-known Maltese locality which offers a glimpse into the authentic Maltese life-style; a locality that is distant, yet close enough to the more established sites. The ferry connection to Valletta(4min) across the Grand Harbour is second to no other type of transportation (sometimes the truth of the old worn-out proverb that the journey is more important than the destination holds unconditionally but if you insist on renting a car, there is plenty of parking space also).
The apartment comprises a bedroom with a double niche bed, a spacious and elegantly vintage-furnished living room (with a sofa-bed), a dining area, a fully equipped kitchenette (for those who are tired of eating out and want to experiment with local fresh produce at home) and a bathroom (needless to say, also with sea views!).
Smoking is fine. Pets also
Staying at Alberto's appartment in Senglea is an insider tipp, which shoudn't be published ;-) However, I'll do. Wonderful place, stylish appartment, great view, already miss it. Thx. Alberto
This is an absolute awesome place to stay! Location is gorgeous, view great! You can see that host Alberto is an architect: the apartment is built and furnished with an eye for style and feeling for cosy-ness.
The ferry to Valletta leaves very close by, lots of things to do and see in Malta and the people are so friendly! So: an very big thumbs up for Alberto and the Maltese, we had a fabulous time!
The views were fantastic and the apartment basic, clean, and comfortable! Alberto was really helpful, picked us up from the airport and and printed our return flight tickets for us. Great bus/ferry connection to Valetta.
We are just back from a lovely week on Malta. Alberto was waiting for us outside the airport (we arranged for him to pick us up before hand) and drove us to the flat. Alberto is warm and kind and full of information. The flat itself was wonderful. Water-front with a lovely view towards Birgu and the boats in between. The flat was comfortable and with use of small electric heaters that Alberto provided quite cosy and warm in January. We found the bed to be comfortable and the kitchen and shower room facilities to be more than adequate for our needs. The neighbourhood itself is quiet and the people seemed friendly and helpful. There are a few restaurants nearby (next door!) and a few options for picking up groceries within walking distance. The ferry stop is just a short walk away and runs every half hour. We spent alot of time wandering the streets of Senglea and nearby Birgu and Kalikara. The Old City area is a gem to explore. All in all we had a great trip and found our host to be most accommodating. Thanks again Alberto!
Was so good! Alberto was really helpful. The apartment was good, quaint. Just nice for four people. Basic, clean, and comfortable!
Alberto made me and my two friends feel very welcome in Malta. We had a great time staying in his apartment in Isla, a truly stunning area to be in. The views are just gorgeous! Although the weather was quite cold when we visited in January (their coldest winter in 50+ years), we enjoyed the apartment's views and were grateful to Alberto for heaters and warm blankets. We also had an airport pickup thanks to Alberto and he was easy to spot.
We have very much enjoyed our stay with Alberto. The apartment had all necessary equipment and a great view, both day and night! The area is also very nice to stay and there is q thegood bus/ferry connection with Valetta. Alberto has been most helpful.
I m an Italian architect based in Malta. Here I felt in love with the authenticity of this island and with his typical architecture . That's why i tried to restore this house keeping all the original features.
I hope you will enjoy, as i do, this authenticity in the Maltese life.
