The tarifs are:
€60 per double bedroom and €50 for the single.

Five-bedroom house in a town in the Loire Valley 25kms WEST of Tours.
Langeais has a railway station, several restaurants and cafes and a chateau, all five minutes walk away.
Town has a great ambience, and there are many historic chateaux within 20 kms, including Villandry, Azay, Chinon and Usse.
House has English and French satellite TV and breakfast is included in the price of 60 euro per night. Price is 50 euro a night for lets of a week or longer from October to March.

A prestigious 15th century château, in which the union between Charles VIII and Anne of Brittany was sealed in 1491, makes Langeais a vital tourist attraction in the Loire Valley. This mediaeval fortress holds many marvels: one of the oldest square keeps in France, a working drawbridge, and a superb collection of tapestries and furniture...

  • From the moment we arrived we realised we had found the most welcoming and hospitable host in Shaun who is endearingly friendly and thoughtful. Shaun made this a standout stay for our several weeks in France. He has a thorough understanding and commitment to what a B&B should provide for his guests.Our 4 nights were memorable for the wonderful attention to every detail,the delicious breakfasts and dinners (which were provided as extra on request), and the tasteful "country manor " decor that was extremely comfortable and a delight on return from intense chateaux visiting starting in Langeais. It is a perfect base for the Loire valley and we would not hesitate to recommend 34 Rue Rabelais to travellers who prefer a home away from home ( with staff to do all the work).thanking you from the bottom of our hearts.

  • We had the best time at Patrick and Shaun's place! We arrived there just after New Year's Eve and we needed a quite place where to stop after our daily trips to Loire's castles. Shaun welcomed us and he gave us great advice where to eat and everything. The house was clean and is a great mix of French and English furniture!
    Highly recommended, especially Shaun's breakfast: he attempted to our diets with his home-made jam and those delicious brioches..

  • We had a lovely stay for 6 nights. Shaun was an amazing host and really makes you feel at home. The location is great and if you don't know the area, Shaun is full of helpful information. His ability to speak French and English is great. He even helped us make a dinner reservation. The dogs are lovely as well!
    We would definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance.

  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at Le Clos Rabelais. It was a pleasure corresponding with Patrick in the months beforehand and Shaun was an excellent host, always friendly, generous and funny. Langeais is a charming little town and a perfect base for visiting the Loire Valley; the house is cosy and comfortable, a few minutes on foot from the station and the shops and restaurants. A sumptuous Christmas feast with roast goose from the market as a centrepiece was the culmination of a memorable stay.

    Thank you, Christopher. I've yet to have goose cooked in our own oven but it was on option on the menu at Au Coin Des Halles for much of 2013, and I enjoyed it. I'm so glad Shaun made you feel at home and I hope you continue to have a good time in Europe, if you have not returned home already. On the cricket front, I think we Brits are getting what we deserve after making so much of the winning margin last summer. The media loves extremes eg 0-5 5-0. Personally I prefer tense close series.   • We were visiting for a long weekend, the bnb location was excellent for accessing Loire region. Great for day trips. Shaun and Sue were very welcoming and warm hosts. The wine was a nice touch!

  • We arrived at le Clos Rabelais to be greeted by Shaun and Sue, We parked the car and were immediately offered a drinkie and as we were in France we just had to have a glass of wine, followed by another. Following that, the Magnums were passed around, no not a magnum of wine, (although I am sure we drank one)
    We stayed in the Garden room, the bed was comfy with crisp bed linen and a Teddy to keep us company also a choccie on the pillow in case of hunger in the night, not possible after the delicious dinner cooked by Shaun . The evening was was great fun as Shaun has a wicked sense of humour and kept us all entertained for the evening. The food was great and the wine was flowing so don't bother with a restaurant this is the place to be
    Breakfast was served in the dining room by Sue with croissants brioche jams cereals fruit etc...
    Will I return? Certainly i will, if they are not fully booked after all the great, well deserved reviews.
    Thanks Shaun and Sue for a fab last evening it really made our last night a real pleasure.

  • We spent 2 nights at the Clos Rabelais. The food was really excellent - the best Fish Pie I have ever had and an excellent Risotto starter. The other guests were all charming and our room was very good indeed - at the top of the garden, so slightly away from the main house. However this did not in any way detract from our experience as it was like having a "home from home" - self-contained, clean and comfy and extremely well-appointed. Sue was an absolute star and a pleasure to meet - like having an old friend on hand to help. Many thanks to Sean and Sue for a good stay - Langeais is a very good base.
