The Space

15 minute walk from Plaza, 5 minute walk from Canyon Road, 30 minute drive to Ski Basin and 10 minute drive to Ten Thousand Waves-- lovely, light-filled room with separate entrance, sitting room, bathroom and courtyard in historic downtown Santa Fe. Do-it-yourself breakfast. Plethora of restaurant, gallery, event, and hiking/outdoor activity information from hosts. Wi-fi accessible, pets on premises. Fabulous jumping off spot for adventures throughout northern New Mexico.

Guests have access to full kitchen, including refrigerator, living room with extensive library, outside courtyard and lovely sunroom.

My mother, Susan, and I co-host in the home my family has lived in for decades. We have been hosts since February 2010 and love the guests we meet through Airbnb. Guests stay with Susan; I live next door with my family.

Hidden away in a corner of old Santa Fe, we are minutes walk from the Plaza and Canyon Road. Bus and the Santa Fe Pickup lines run two blocks from the house to the museums and downtown. Santa Fe favorite spots -- El Farol (tapas, music, and bar) and The Teahouse (good drinks, light meals) are both five minutes on foot. Beautiful park around the corner.

We look forward to your visit!

Interaction with Guests

Susan is present during our guests stay. She and/or Katy are very available with answers to 'What is the best...?' And there is often as much conversation as the guest would like. We very much enjoy our guests.

  • Excellent location close to plaza. Clean. Very small space and would advise for no more than 1 or 2 people. Hosts are friendly and accommodating, yet limited privacy. It felt like staying in a friend's home in the spare bedroom. I would return by myself or with someone I felt comfortable with sharing a queen sized bed. Pet friendly which was much appreciated!

  • Very convenient location in an older part of Santa Fe. There was a separate entrance and off street parking. It was about a 15 minute walk to the plaza. Very quiet neighborhood. Susan was a delight to visit with, but she didn't visit unless I started the conversation. So, you can do what you like visit or not. The bed was a nice firmness and comfortable for me at 6'2".

The next time I have a late or long-term event in Santa Fe I'll definitely try to book with Katy and Susan.

  • We had a lovely stay in Santa Fe at Katy and Susan's home. Both Susan and Katy welcomed us warmly. Susan was very considerate about sharing her space and giving us information about places to go, things to do, and efficient ways to get around town. The bed was comfortable, and we especially liked the stars on the ceiling when the lights were out. We had rented a car, but were able to walk to many of the places we wanted to go. We would definitely like to come back to this home away from home when we return to Santa Fe for another visit.

  • Great spot in Santa Fe, nice to have the sitting room and private outside space, Susan had great coffee and yogurt and homemade granola for breakfast. Very thoughtful host, gave us a ride to the rental car place, much appreciated. Good location in nice neighborhood, walk to plaza and canyon road. Would love to visit again. Thanks Susan

  • Susan was a wonderful host. It was like our home away from home. Our B&B was in a great location, just a short walk to Canyon Rd. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • Martin & I stayed with the Yandas for 5 nights. We felt totally welcome and at home. They have a beautiful home and the room was very cozy. I walked to the Plaza most mornings, about a 20 minute walk. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Susan. She is a gracious hostess, very knowledgeable about Santa Fe and helped us learn how to get around. We regret we didn't meet Katy, as she and her husband were on vacation. I would love to go back and spend more time at the Yandas. Highly recommend it if you visit Santa Fe.

  • I stayed with Susan for 4 nights on my first trip to Santa Fe. Susan was lovely and generous host. I loved her house, the room I stayed in was nice and cosy, the bed warm and comfortable and the location is great. My overall experience of Santa Fe was made better by staying with such a nice host and I hope to return, there are still more museums I have yet to see!

  • Katy and Susan were wonderful hosts. The accommodation is located in Susan's house with it's own private entrance, and honestly - we could not have asked for a better experience. Susan is such a sweet lady, so very informative of her area (and others!) and really provides an authentic, Santa Fe experience.

Even though we stayed here in winter, the room was warmed by raising blinds throughout the day and closing them at night. Along with being warmed by the sun, it was also dotted with two sunlights that lit the rooms throughout the day - practically no need for artificial light.

We enjoyed spending time with these wonderful ladies and their equally amazing family members as well as enjoying all that Santa Fe has to offer. If you're ever in this area, don't miss out on staying with them!

  • My recent stay with the Yandas was absolutely wonderful; Susan (unfortunately I didn't get to meet Katie) was so welcoming and helped me with anything I needed, even driving me to the airport when I was due to leave! The house is beautiful and full of character, also only a short walk to the Plaza and Canyon Road. Also close by is fantastic eatery The Tearoom, lovely lattes and great sandwiches!
The room I stayed in was perfect, with a very comfortable bed and even a separate reading area with a couch to rest on! My stay in Santa Fe was enhanced completely by Susan's wonderful space, thank you for everything!
