The Great Location Studio Apartment

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Rue Rachel Est, Montreal, QC H2W 1E4, Canada

The Space

The apartment is fully furnished, including all bedding and towels. The apartment is always provided clean and tidy with the bed made with clean bedding and clean towels in the cupboard. There is wireless hi-speed internet with unlimited downloading. There's also an alarm clock radio. The bed is a double. There is a small fridge, double hotplate, large toaster oven, and regular toaster, plus dishes, pans, and utensils to cook whatever. There's a closet to hang clothes and to store bags etc.The studio is a comfortable and efficient space full of charm. In the daytime it is bright, thanks to the many windows, and cozy and intimate by night.
The studio is situated in the heart of the trendy Plateau neighborhood. The Plateau is the cultural heart and soul of Montreal. Physically, the studio is located at the epicenter of the city, so to get to all points on the Island is as efficient as can be. Notably Downtown Montreal is just an easygoing 20 minute walk away. Also it's only 20 minutes to walk to the cool hipster Mile End neighborhood. There's a couple of laundromats on Duluth street, a short block away. It's ten minutes to walk to Sherbrooke or Mount Royal Metro stations. It's five minutes to get to the 55 north-south bus and 10 minutes to get to the 80 bus on Parc Avenue, that circles the central core of the city day and night.
There are lots of long established cafes, boutiques and restaurants in the neighborhood, both cheap or upscale but all very good. A little stroll and you are at the hip Parc Jeanne-Mance and at the foot the Mountain (Parc Mont Royal; scene of the amazing Sunday Tam Tam gatherings in the summer months).
Perfect for temporary visitors, contract workers, students etc. For visitors planning on cooking, there's a supermarket on Duluth Street (a short block away) and also Segals (the cheapest in Montreal!) nearby on St Laurent (a five minute walk).

  • Alas, I never met charming sounding Patrick of the several listings and many reviews. In fact, I was only in the room for 15-20 mins, including time spent cleaning the book case head board.I was in a hurry when I booked, should have read more carefully and paid more attention to the review that said it was not clean...and Patrick promised, and perhaps some parts, bedding, towel were clean. Though pictured as small...it was...the walls seemed paper thin, conversations from adjacent rooms, might be interesting with many snoring! and cooking odors in hallway. In short, if you are on a very low budget and flexible about above mentioned issues, this could be the place for you.
(When I arrived, I left my luggage in the room, and went out to (email hidden) good fortune to be sitting next to some people who were staying at a nearby B and B, where they had a room for me,which was far more appealing, and they helped me collect my luggage from the GLSA...otherwise I might have stayed the night and left the next day.)

  • Patrick has welcomed us in his studio, which is functional. It is well located, near from the subway, shops, pubs, and the district is also nice and calm. Great!

  • I stayed for 2 nights in December. The location is perfect and really deserves the title "the great location". In addition, it is offered at an unbeatable price.
The apartment is indeed quite small but has a nice little balcony and everything else you need. What mattered to me most (in December) is that hot water in the shower and heating worked well. Metro stations, shops, supermarkets etc. are all nearby.
All perfect, I would recommend this place to others.
BTW: A great location to go out for live music is the "divan orange" which is nearby. You should check it out.

  • As represented. Everything I needed for my stay; no more, no less. Very clean, simple, comfortable and quiet. And Oui, a great location!

  • I stayed one week in the studio for visiting the city, and my stay was really nice. The location is great, I took the Metro only twice (because of the cold weather and the snow !), but all the interests of the city are closed, by walking distance. The studio is very comfortable and well equipped : at the end of my week, I felt like in my own home !
To finish, Patrick is a nice and serious host. I met a little problem with the WiFi at the beginning of my stay, and he came immediately, and he resolved the problem quickly.
Great stay, I recommend this studio.

  • My boyfriend and I loved our stay at Patrick's Plateau studio. Super convenient location to shops, cafes, restaurants, and yoga studios along St Laurent, into the Mile End neighborhood, and near Parc le Fontaine & Mont Royal. We loved getting to wake up in the morning, make a pot of french press coffee, take a warm shower, bundle up and head out into the city.

The apartment is cute and cozy -- Patrick has taken time to make it feel homey, with nice art prints on the walls, and a warm duvet. It was perfect for our short trip. The apartment was clean and fresh towels and linens were provided, as well as 2 sets of keys. We ate all our meals out, but the hot plate would be useful to make eggs, heat up a can of soup, etc...but why would you want to stay in to make a meal while visiting such a rich culinary area?!

We visited Aux Vivres Vegan restaurant (delicious!), Fairmont bagels, La Cagibi cafe, Cafe Coin Grec, Lola Rosa vegetarian bistro (the best!), Buvette Chez Simone wine bar (great selections!), Neve cafe (plus other excellent cafes!), Poutineville, and Patiti Patata (tiny burgers, fries, beer!).

Nearby on St. Laurent we attended two yoga classes at Bliss Studio, and also had professional massages at their spa. Delightful. Got groceries at the Provigo and travel sized toiletries at a 24hr pharmacy.

Would definitely stay here again when visiting Montreal in the future!
