Interaction with Guests
Let's get together and get to know my city my style! We have a whole city to know we can do it in a van or truck when you want!
We are in the district of Callao, a few blocks from Lima airport, facing a park, where you can go out for a coffee or just read under a tree.
We have vans on request or if like we are close to the main avenues to take public buses.
Other Things to Note

"My house is your house"
This place is very convenient. If you just need a place to stay overnight to sleep and plan on doing nothing else in the city,Mathis is the place. You can literally walk here, just cross bridge and walk 5/6 blocks. The neighborhood is a little intimidating but if you are brave it's doable. We took a taxi to place and they ripped us off, we walked to airport in the morning to our early flight. Place is clean and well equipped for a 1 night stay.
O ambiente do hostel é legal, porém simples.
The driver picked us up at the airport as promised, though we were an hour late. The Mundo Albergue is, as described, really close to the Airport, about a 5 min. drive. This was especially good since we had to catch a flight in the early morning the next day, and we were driven back to the airport although it was 3 am. I would recommend it to people who just want to spend a couple of days in Lima.
The hostel itself is quite comfortable and homey. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is just down the hall. The resident cats and dog are friendly, too! The family works hard to provide a nice space for travelers. It is near to the airport, so people who are spending just one night in Lima may find this a useful spot. Unfortunately, the neighborhood around the airport and the hostel is not really designed for tourists. It is difficult to catch a taxi, restaurants and attractions are very far away and the area is not entirely safe or clean.
This was our second stay with Carlos. Again, a great host and place to stay.
Very disappointing stay. We were told to book a taxi service through the host as the city taxis apparently don't come to the hostel.. We followed those instructions and then had to make two phonecalls and wait for half an hour and then the host came to pick us up as his driver had some issue. Very convenient as he charges 35 soles ONE WAY when the hostel is so close to the airport!
The next morning again there were driver issues (very conveniently) and Carlos dropped us again for his exorbitant rate. I really doubt there is any taxi service!!!
On top of that, the hostel isn't located in a great neighborhood... No ac or fan so you have to leave the windows open for ventilation. Bad idea as there's constant noise from the street below and bright streetlight streaming into your room.
And lastly... You have to even pay for water!! No water filter.. We were told that concept doesn't exist in Peru... Again a lie!
Would not recommend this hostel for even a few hours!!!!!!
IF YOU COULD NOT FIND THE DRIVER , IT WAS BECAUSE YOUR FLIGHT ARRIVED EARLIER of the time you told me.
For security reasons I ALWAYS recommend to take official cabs from the airport, here you have a web page where you can reserve an official cab:
As you can see all the rates are over USD.20.00 to the hostel, BUT I always offer the pick up service for only USD.12.00 (S/.35.00 peruvian soles aprox ) including the parking and 1 hour waiting as courtesy.
Ms. Chaitali accepted my rate for USD12.00, and then she just didnt want to pay for it... saying that the hostel was "too close" to the airport.
As it is told on the airbnb page THIS IS NOT A HOTEL this is a family house , so paying only USD.25 per night you can not be asking for A.C. in the rooms.
besides that in PERU we dont have filters in our house, we always drink BOTTLE OF WATER and of course they are not for free, YOU MUST PAY for them as everywhere in the world...
Nous avons passé une nuit chez Carlos. Ils sont venus nous chercher à l'aéroport. Ils sont très sympathique. La quartier n'est pas très accueillant mais pour reprendre le lendemain c'est bien pratique
About the Host, Carlos
I am Carlos Rojas, i have worked all my life with tourists, when i was 17 i worked at the Disney parks, i had such a great time there and I discovered that tourism was my best choice. I got my licence as a Hotel & Tourism manager at USIL university and got my MBA at Callao University, thanks to my family and God now i have my own business with my family house that I use as guest homestay called MUNDO ALBERGUE.
For me its really important to help people specially children and youth, so part of the incoming I have from the guest house goes to my non profit foundation " CARLOS ROJAS FOUNDATION" where volunteers and I give free edcational programs for children and youth of Callao. It would be great if you can help us with our programs.
My family and I love to interact with people from different cultural background and make our airbnb guests feel as they are part of our family. At my homestay, you can enjoy diferent weekly activities that we do with our guest around the world, such as our Cinema nights, Volunteers with children, spanish lessons, Bingo and Yenga games, and some others you will see.
We also would like to share what we know about Lima and where to go in Lima. This cultural exchange gives us the opportunity to tell you who we are. We like to keep contact with international people and hear things about their travelings. We offer you a safe, quiet, and nice environment.
Some advantages of my home are: My house is well located just 5 minutes walking from the Lima airport. We are 15-20 minutes by taxi to downtown Lima. Some places that I suggest to see in downtown are: - Cathedral of Lima (Catacombs of Lima) - The Franciscan Monastery - The Government Palace - Malecon del Rio (Pier of the river) .
You can also take our AUDIO LIMA TOUR with us, where you can see in a different way my city, after that, we can enjoy a delicious Cebiche with the sunset of Lima.
I am here to help you in anything you might need for your trip in my country.
I hope we can meet together at your arrival.
