This was our first airbnb experience and the entire family enjoyed the accommodations, even our dog. We were visiting for 5 days. The house had everything that we needed for our stay. We spent a lot of time on the front porch enjoying the beautiful weather and local craft beers. The yard is fenced in so we didn't worry about our dog and she had plenty of yard to roam. The beds were very comfortable. My daughter especially liked the bunk bed. Now she is begging for one. There were plenty of linens and the house was very clean. Make sure to bring your hair dryer. The pottery and artwork by the owners gave it so much charm and character. The house was across the street from a school so we were able to use the playground. The neighborhood was great for walking the dog. We were also able to walk to several restaurants and shops in West Asheville (about 10 minute walks). The places we ventured to on foot in West Asheville (and recommend) are Universal Joint, Sunny Point Café, and The Hop ice cream. The house is also only 10 minute drive to downtown or you can take Uber for $5-$10. It rained one of the days so we spent it at the Pinball Museum, which was amazing. We were there playing games for 3.5 hours. They have pinball games plus a lot of old school arcade games. My 8 yo loved it just as much. For anyone that enjoys beer or beautiful scenery, I recommend making the trip to the Sierra Nevada Brewery. It is 20-25 minute drive but worth it. We will be making a trip back to Asheville next summer. I would definitely recommend Lisa-Gaye's place to others that are traveling to the area.

Located very close to a variety of trendy shops/restaurants in West Asheville, and just a few mins drive to downtown. Place was nice and clean and worked just perfectly for a city visit.

The house was very homey and charming, with a fenced yard for our dog. Location was walkable to W. Asheville shops and restaurants, with a playground across the street. I especially loved the creative touches around the home (face jugs, bike wheel sculpture). Lisa Gaye was very flexible, helpful, and quick to respond. I would happily stay here again!

This was the perfect vacation house for us (two sisters with husbands). The house is in a quiet neighborhood, was super-clean with comfortable furniture and super-comfy beds plus ceiling fans in both bedrooms. We did not use the third bedroom which has a single bed. We appreciated having two separate outdoor spaces. The front porch was shady, had plenty of comfortable seating options and lots of room. The baseball field across the street gave us an expansive, quiet view. The back deck was also great. Spacious and surrounded by mature trees which made you feel as though you were in the treetops. Comfortable seating for 6 with umbrella'd table and large outdoor grill.

Lisa-Gaye was a great hostess. Her home was prefect for the kids and dogs and us. Would recommend staying here, it's close to lots to eat and near downtown.

Cute bungalow in a great location with amazing outdoor living space. We spent a very comfortable week here with our three sons (ages 11, 13, 15), with one of us using the fold-out couch in the living room. We spent a lot of time hanging out on the beautiful covered porch and relaxing on the back deck. Our boys played basketball and kickball across the street at the school park. We walked to West Asheville frequently for the restaurants -- Try BiscuitHead for breakfast! Go early to beat the line. If you're a runner or walker: Make the short (5 min) drive to Carrier Park for great river-side running trails. We also loved the tubing at the Asheville Outdoor Center, also just 5 mins away at Carrier Park. Lisa was a wonderful host -- always responsive and friendly. Even though her family was living downstairs we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Very happy with our stay.

Lisa is absolutely lovely - friendly and respectful of guest privacy. She helped us in any way she could with tips and generosity of her home. The listing is clear that the family would be staying in the basement, but we didn't quite expect that they didn't always live in the lower level - we were very clearly in their primary home, and we never quite got over the feeling of having displaced a family for a week. This fact meant that there is absolutely no space for our own things - you will be living out of your suitcase for the week. This was a minor inconvenience, but should be noted. The only other nitpicky thing to mention is to be careful in the shower - there is no non-slip surface, and it is slippery! Otherwise, there is really nothing to truly complain about - this is a super-clean, pretty well equipped basic house in a slightly rundown but endearing neighborhood - we're taking weeds and heaving sidewalks - nothing truly concerning. In the greater picture the location is great! Easy to walk to the small West Asheville nighborhood, and an easy drive everywhere else. We enjoyed our stay.

Response from L.G.:
Susan, thanks for the feedback about the shower! I'll add some non-slip stickers to the tub immediately. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in our home.
