Trastevere is the oldest neighborhood in Rome. Of character, and is ideal for those who want to stay in the city. It is close to all points of interest and it is also full of life.
Tram no. 8 will take you anywhere. The bus stop is right in front of our house.
The loft in Trastevere was ideal! The location was perfect with many restaurants, shops, and Rome tourist attractions within walking distance. The check-in was relatively smooth and was adjusted to the time we arrived in Rome. The overall apartment was clean and spacious. Did not mean Valentina directly but communications with her were helpful.
Would definitely stay there again!
The loft was perfect, really spacious and comfortable. It's in the best area so we could walk everywhere in Rome. There's a great local bakery and market close by to get lovely food and coffee, As well as some of Rome's best bars and restaurants on your door step. Valentina was really friendly and so quick with correspondence. I'd recommend this loft and especially Trastevere to anyone wanting a great, central place to stay in Rome.
Nous avons passé un agréable week end à Rome.
L'appartement de Valentina & Marco est un très beau loft, calme, confortable & bien équipé ds le quartier de Trastevere.
Ideal pour un Week end entre amis!
This apartment is the best. It is large ( for. 2 people), quiet, safe and is within easy walking distance to all the major sites.
Marco & Valentina were great hosts, they were very understanding when things went wrong for us and caused several changes to our arrival time.
The welcome bottle of wine was a bonus.
If you are looking for a great place to stay, this is it.
I have already recommended the apartment to my friends.
I hope to stay there on my next visit to Rome.
We have given Il Portoncino a 5 star rating and would recommend it to anyone. We stayed over Christmas and it was ideal. The loft accommodates three or four adults, and particularly good is the ample sitting area, and the fact that there are two bathrooms (great for adults sharing).
Valentina was charming and very efficient in all our dealings, which included arranging a car to take us from and to the airport (well worth it). She offered us wine, mineral water, a seasonal cake and a big current bread loaf that did all our breakfasts!
I think Trastevere must be the best area in Rome to stay in, with its charming boutiques and plenty of great restaurants and bars, squares and churches. It's a lovely quarter to just wander around, and within walking distance of the main tourist sites.
The flat is spacious and is conveniently situated in buzzing Trastevere. Valentina was very helpful in giving directions to get there and waited to hand over the keys. Flowers added a warm welcoming touch as did the wine and water in the fridge and the tea and coffee provided.
As the flat is on the ground floor and only gives onto an interior courtyard it can be quite dark.
Everything was perfect!!! Lovely hosts and nice experience!!! Perfect location!!!!
Marco and Valentina were amazing hosts, the apartment was perfect - with a brilliant shower - and in the most wonderful location. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Rome. Valentina was also very kind advising on transport from the airport, and even booking us a taxi back to the airport when we needed one.
The house is in the best part of town, not too loud, not touristy but plenty going on. It was as good as the photos and better!
Valentina was lovely and communication was very easy as were the direction she gave us. I would recommend their place to anyone planning on visiting Rome. Next time I visit Rome I know where I want to stay!!! Loved every minute of it!
Marco and Valentina's home is in a great location, close to the tram and buses and within a 15-20 minute walk to many of the historic sites. The apartment is very quiet and is located on the ground level in a nice building on a residential street. We did enjoy watching "Roman Holiday" on the projector when it was pouring outside one night. And we appreciated the courtesy water and the extra towels provided (especially when we got caught in the rain). We did wish there were enough bed pillows for more than two people as we were three guests. It would have been nice if the bed was made prior to our arrival and if the comforter didn't have a smell to it.
Upon initial entry, the apartment had a mildewy smell. Turning on the air conditioner and dehumidifier helped significantly. The downstairs toilet leaked at the base. There was some mold in the shower and by the kitchen sink. This problem could be fixed with a good clean. In the future, we would also choose an apartment with wifi. We knew that the apartment wouldn't have wifi but in retrospect it would have been really helpful to have especially because the cafes in the area had unreliable wifi.
