Come discover Stillwater and all it has to offer in a spacious and updated historic loft right on Main St. You will love the short walk home with a belly full of the delicious food and drinks that Stillwater is known for, especially after perusing the amazing art galleries, boutique clothing stores, endless antiques, and historic candy shops all right outside your front door.
The space
This spacious historic loft is quintessentially Stillwater with its 20 foot exposed beam ceilings and brick walls, all original from when the building was constructed in the 1880's. While it is preserved of it's historic charm, this 2 bedroom loft has been updated with modern amenities like a jacuzzi tub and fully outfitted kitchen for those looking to do some cooking with the produce from the coop down the street.
Located above Howard's Bar directly on Stillwater's historic Main Street, you are not only steps away from delicious food but all of the charm that the St. Croix River Valley has to offer - Amazing antiquing, art galleries, boutiques, tasty bites, and bars jam packed with character where ever you turn. Wake up to a complimentary coffee or tea from the fully stocked coffee bar, or pop in next door to Mon Petit Cheri for a coffee and a delicious pastry.
Because we are located above a bar, the floor of the loft has been sound proofed to mitigate any noise bleed from the patrons dining directly below you.
Enjoy free WiFi and log in to your streaming services on either TV, both equipped with an Apple TV.

QUIRKY LITTLE THINGS TO BE AWARE OF BEFORE YOU BOOK:
With so many Airbnb/hotel offerings in the River Valley, you should choose the best one that fits all of your needs instead of picking one that "sort of" works. I want you to have a great time, enjoying our amazing loft in a fantastic location, in our amazing little town, that fits your expectations. So, please be aware this space may not be the best fit for you in regard to the following list of quirks below. In full disclosure-
+ NOISE: There is a low speed fan in the loft that runs 24/7 as part of the buildings ventilation system. It cannot be turned off. Most guests have not had an issue with this noise, but you may wish to bring earplugs just in case!
+ STREET NOISE: Although the floor is soundproofed to prevent noise coming up from the bar, you might hear a quiet bass drum from time to time and you will definitely hear the lively noise from Main St below your window. With the convenience of being right on Main Street and all it has to offer, so does the noise that comes along with staying directly above a thoroughfare. Motorcycles are loud, bachelorette parties are loud, you will definitely hear live music during patio season. It adds to the excitement of being right on Main Street unless you are someone who wants it dead quiet! So please take that into consideration before booking.
+ SMELLS: The back wall of the loft shares a wall with the prep kitchen. Howard’s Bar is a from-scratch kitchen so you might catch a pleasant smell of braised beef, a chicken stock rolling over night, or anything else that comes along with the territory. It is faint and not all can smell it, but if you are sensitive to smells, this might be a deal breaker for you!
+ SOFA: The sofa isn't meant for sleeping. If you book the apartment with plans for a 5th person to sleep on the sofa you will be disappointed.
+ VISITORS: No more than 3 extra visitors are permitted in the building at any given time.
+ TV: There is no cable or local free channels. Log in to your own pre-paid streaming accounts.
+ RESTAURANT ACCESS: There is no direct access to the restaurant from the apartment, for your safety and ours.
+ DISCLAIMER: With the charm and history that comes with one of the oldest buildings in Stillwater (and MN for that matter), so do some quirks. The brick used is the original “Ohio Brick” from the 1800’s and they are meant to “breath”, letting moisture in and out, expanding and detracting in the cold and warm weather that Minnesota is known for. This means you might catch some crumbles or brick dust. We maintain these bricks with the help of Minnesota’s Historical Society and replace them on a need basis. Please be aware and be gentle with them.

PARKING: Behind the building you will find a complimentary parking spot and a second can be available if requested in advance.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT: Arrive between 3:00pm – 9:00pm, Leave before 11am
ACCESS: You will enter through your own private door right on Main Street using a door code provided the day of your check-in giving you the ease of arriving and departing at your convenience. No need for us to coordinate schedules for a key hand off. You're welcome to come anytime during our listed check in hours. If arriving outside of our check in cutoff time, please ask at booking to ensure I can accommodate your late arrival.
I give you complete privacy to the entire apartment. You won't see me unless you need me!

+ Maximum occupancy of 4 adults.
+ Occupancy must include the person who made the reservation (Airbnb requires this)
+ PLEASE HAVE A PHOTO OF YOUR FACE AS YOUR AIRBNB PROFILE IMAGE. This will help me confirm you belong to the building during your stay.
+ The Stillwater Police Department enforces a city noise ordinance between the hours of 10 PM and 8 AM. Please respect these hours and limit noise levels during this time.
+ As stated in the property description, the bricks are old and you will see brick dust and white salt deposit. Please reference the property description for more information.
+ I can't stress enough the importance of reviewing my listing details and House Rules - it really is the best way to make sure you're not disappointed!

+ VERIFIED GUESTS ONLY. Please complete full profile, adding profile picture and government issued ID verification before inquiring/booking. Your booking request will be declined if you are not “verified”.
+ YOU MUST HAVE A PROFILE PICTURE on your Airbnb account to book. This will help me confirm that it is indeed you staying here, not someone else. The profile photo must clearly show your face.
+ MAKE CHECK IN A BREEZE: Please have the Airbnb app on your phone or have the ability to log in to your Airbnb account on the road. I will send entry code instructions to your Airbnb inbox and it is how we will communicate during your stay.
+ Make sure you arrive with enough battery life on your phone so you can easily navigate check in instructions!
+ In the event of lockout due to your inability to navigate the self check in lockbox, you will not be refunded for any cancellation of your reservation if you are not able to wait for my assistance.
MINIMUM AGE 21. You must be 21 or older to book the apartment.
OCCUPANCY must include you, the person making the reservation (unless I approve otherwise at the time of booking).
OCCUPANCY IS LIMITED TO 4 adults *or* 4 adults plus any child under 10 years of age. No last minute add-ons at arrival or during your stay. The reservation will be cancelled if the occupancy exceeds this maximum.
VISITORS: No more than three (3) unregistered guests can gather on the property
CHECK IN is self check-in with key pad entry between 3:00pm-9:00pm. Code is sent to you approximately 20 minutes prior to check in time on the day of check in. You will receive detailed instructions on how to use the keypad. It is your responsibility to read these instructions thoroughly. If you are arriving past 9:00pm please make this clear at booking so I can plan accordingly to help you avoid any check in issues.
CHECK OUT is 11:00am. Please be respectful of the next guest by checking out on time.
PARKING: As described in my listing - one off street parking spot is available with a second available upon request.
PETS are not allowed. Please do not book my apartment if you are traveling with a pet. I ask that you please instead seek another Airbnb property that will be able to accommodate you and your pet. If you arrive with a pet, you can either 1) cancel your reservation with no refund to you or 2) bring your pet to a local pet boarder for the duration of your visit.
QUIET HOURS are 10:00pm – 8:00am. Noise complaints at any hour of the day can lead to immediate eviction.
CLEANING: There is no housekeeping during your stay. Please be tidy during your visit and follow the Departure Checklist at the end of your stay. If you use the kitchen, please clean up after yourself, washing pots/pans/dishes. Not all guests use the kitchen, so the cleaning fee does not cover dish washing.
HEADS UP: Excessive trash left behind, dirty dishes and stained towels or bedding will result in an extra $50 cleaning charge plus damage charge for items that are unable to be cleaned.
THEFT/DAMAGES:
- Please remove your make up with the complimentary make-up remover pads to avoid staining the white towels and bed linens and incurring a fee for replacement cost.
- Use the bath towels for showering only. Paper towels are provided for cleaning up spills and messes.
- Inventory is taken after each departure and guests will be charged for damaged and missing items.
- Lock all windows and doors when leaving.
NO SMOKING: PLEASE READ THESE IMPORTANT RULES REGARDING THE SMOKE FREE BUILDING.
- The apartment, entire building and are NON SMOKING. This includes outdoor spaces and parking areas.
- Marijuana smoking and vaping are also not permitted on the property.
- If it is discovered that any smoking occurred in the apartment, or that smoking/smoke smells/smoking on the premises are reported by neighbors, the host reserves the right to a) charge you the ENTIRE security deposit, b) evict you immediately without refund
ADDITIONAL:
+ Do not violate any federal internet laws when using the wireless internet. The IP address, date and time can be traced to your stay.
