Set in a nice quiet location, in nature off the beaten track, this was just what I was looking for. The room was very nice and staff also. I planned to spend 5 nights here, but booked in for one to try it out first, and Im glad I did! I was in the room upstairs, which I particularly chosen as it had the hammock on the balcony. The only problem, which turned out to be a big problem that night, was that the two upstairs neighbouring rooms have NO sound proofing between them and you can literally hear your neighbours pee, cough, fart, almost breath!!
Unfortunately , that night, I did not have quiet neighbours. I had three loud women chatting until midnight ( which I could handle) then came silence...phew....and then one of them started SNORING.....SO LOUD...it even came through my ear plugs!! I actually tried to record it as it was so unbelievable! In the end I gave up and accepted that I would not sleep and left the next day. Disappointing, as I had great hopes when I moved in. Matias was gracious and told me that in the rooms downstairs you don't hear a thing. I think guests need to know this. You can also sleep upstairs and be luckier than i was and have quiet neighbours. Pot luck! It was part bad luck with me , but also i feel that SOME sound proof is necessary as Its literally like sharing a room with strangers only you don't see them. I honestly don't like writing bad things in reviews but if you are a light sleeper as I am, just be warned.
Apart from that it was a lovely place.
We had a really pleasant stay in a rural part of Ubud with German couple Eugene and Julia. They were great hosts, providing us with a hearty breakfast and great conversation. The room was really clean and the hammock was blissful! A very positive AirBNB experience - Vielen dank!
We had a very pleasant stay at the villa and ended up booking it twice! It's quiet, clean and a good breakfast is provided. There are a total of three rooms with their own bathrooms and two of the rooms have AC. You can rent scooters there without going through the hassle of finding one elsewhere. I definitely recommend this place.
Our stay with Yu and Julia was everything we hoped our break in Bali would be--quiet, stress-free, pleasant and away from the traffic and tourist overrun areas of town. The hosts were very accommodating, even giving us a ride into town on our first evening. Breakfast was a pleasant, leisurely meal with Yu and Julia and the other guests, who were also very easy going.
The house is set near a river, in a lovely, well kept garden, about 30 minutes walking into Ubud. Everything was very clean and comfortable, especially the perfectly placed hammock on the balcony outside our room! We loved it, but this is NOT an urban setting so you will hear roosters and other animals so pack ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
We did not have scooters but managed fine using local taxis. Yu was also great with arranging transportation when we needed it.
If you rent a scooter you can explore on your own-- we plan to get one next time we visit! Thanks Julia for my scooter lesson!!! Highly recommended.
First of all, I really enjoyed my stay at Yu Lia's place.
The rooms are lovely decorated, clean, and the green surrounding makes a great ambiance. The couple who owns the place is very caring and gave me good advice in what's worth visiting and which is the best way to get there. Especially the restaurant advices, rarely ate so good! The villa itself is not far from Ubud, it takes just a couple of minutes to reach it.
All in all, if you're looking for a place that feels like a second home, this is the right place. I would totally recommend staying here.
Yu Lia's room was perfect for our trip to Ubud. The complete house was clean and very nicely arranged. The villa is some minutes driving from Ubud Center.
The hosts were really friendly and gave us useful recommendations for places we have to visit.
All in all we enjoyed our stay there!
