The Space

The Apartment is the incredibly spacious bottom two floors of a brownstone on tree-lined Union street. The room has a beautiful bay window overlooking Union street. It has a futon bed. You will be sharing the apartment (bathroom, kitchen, common areas) with me and my roommate, Dan. We both travel quite a bit, so you may have the whole apartment to yourself. The room is for one person, but if you are two people and need more sleeping space, we may be able to accommodate your request on a case by case basis, so feel free to ask.

Dan and I are both professional bridge players and often away at tournaments. We are both friendly and happy to answer questions or give advice about what to see or do, or how to get there.

High-speed internet, towels, bedding, and basic toiletries are included. You have full use of the large fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, and we all belong to the famed Park Slope Food Coop, so if there is something special that you'd like for breakfast or otherwise, let me know and I'll try to procure it beforehand. Street parking can sometimes be a problem during the week, though usually it's easy on the weekends; let me know if you plan on driving and I'll provide further info along with parking tips.

Please message me before booking. I will respond quickly.

Check In
  • I booked this room for my husband. He said the room was spacious, the location was perfect. Randall provided instructions on how to get in, because he wasn't there during check-in. The instructions were clear. The bed was comfortable. My husband said he's hoping to stay there again during his next trip to Park Slope.

  • Randall's home is lovely. He is a very nice young man who made me feel comfortable in his home. The bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed. I had to leave a day early due to weather so my visit is based on one night.

  • Stayed for 6 weeks. Awesome apartment, perfect location, very friendly hosts! I couldn't have wished for a better place to stay in New York!

  • I had a nice stay at Randall's home. The room was quiet and Randall, Dan and Alex were rarely home, so I felt like I had the place to myself. The location was wonderful, Brooklyn Park Slope is a terrific, safe neighborhood for walking and sight-seeing. Lots of interesting shops and restaurants nearby and the place is close to trains to get to mid-town manhattan in 15-20 minutes. I would recommend a stay in this unique brownstone and great neighborhood.

I play professional bridge so I'll likely be out of town at a tournament when you stay at my place. It's a great gig because it means I get paid to teach someone either as an instructor or as that person's partner and I basically get to play cards all day. When I travel, I like to get lost in a city because I always seem to find the best, local, unpublicized events without any other tourists
