  • This place was fantastic! It was close to many great restaurants and stores, and was just a relaxing oasis I could retreat to when the Vancouver rain & cold got to be too much. Aki was a great hostess and even gave me a quick tour of the area.

  • Grant and Aki's loft was awesome! It was as described, clean, and in a great location in Vancouver. Aki met us at the loft when we arrived in the city and was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of things to do nearby. You couldn't ask for a better location; the loft's proximity to Gastown, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques made it easy to walk everywhere. Highly recommended!

  • The loft was perfect for our visit to Vancouver. We especially appreciated the free Wi-Fi and free parking. That really helped!
The area was also great for walking to restaurants and boutiques.

  • Great spot in downtown! You're within walking distance of Gastown and dozens of local restaurants, record shops, galleries, coffee shops and more. The loft is small, comfy, and chic, exactly what we needed for our short stay in Vancouver, and the parking spot alone saved us a ton of money when you factor in what we would have had to pay at a downtown hotel. Aki was an easy host and great to communicate with.

  • This loft is really gorgeous and was a great base for exploring Vancouver. We didn't realize how close it would be to Gastown, which was a plus since Gastown is adorable and has great restaurants and shopping. As others have mentioned the part of the neighborhood between Chinatown and Gastown has a bunch of homeless people/junkies, but no one bothered us. The apartment had beautiful views and was comfy and stylish. Aki was easy to communicate with and cleared up a small problem (she didn't know we needed parking access) quickly and pleasantly, which was really appreciated. She e-mailed us a list of places to explore and was flexible about meeting her and our departure time. Stuff that we loved in the neighborhood: Nelson the Seagull for coffee and bread, Cartems donuts (try the Earl Grey), the two Community vintage stores, and Six Acres for dinner and beers. Vancouver is magical and we'd recommend Aki's place for anyone looking for a beautiful, affordable, well-situated base who doesn't mind a neighborhood that has some sketchy, but seemingly not all that unsafe corners. We were pleased we picked it and loved having all that (beautifully decorated) space, access to laundry, and a nice secure building from which to venture out to Stanley Park and the rest of the city. Thanks, Aki!

  • Ali was a very pleasant host. the apartment was very chic. Be aware you are living in someone's home while they are away. We would recommend this apartment for an interesting Gastown stay.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aki's, from the comfortable bed with a view of the mountains to the numerous restaurant recommendations. Two of her recommendations that we tried were only a couple of blocks from the apartment and were the culinary highlights of our stay. The location is excellent and we preferred it to staying further downtown.
She and her husband were also a pleasure to deal with and I would highly recommend her apartment to anyone visiting Vancouver.
