About this listing
Stay in a private en-suite single bedroom in a fully equipped modern apartment.
It is very well-connected and ideally located in a animated but peaceful neighborhood close to the city center and the main railway stations.
Lovely room with single bed in a new flat with private bathroom.
The room gives onto a large courtyard, so it's very quiet.
You'll share the apartment with me.
You have access to an air-conditionated living room, where you can relax on the sofa, read a book or watch TV.
Every morning, in the kitchen you can find an Italian breakfast with coffee, milk, tea, fruit juices, biscuits with butter and marmalade.
If you like the strong Italian espresso, there instructions for preparing your coffee maker.
If you are lucky, you can taste some cakes made by me.
Clean sheets and bath towels are at your disposal, and the hairdryer too.
My private free wifi is available.
I have a printer, so if you need to print your boarding pass or your train ticket, ask me and we print it.
You can use the washing machine and you can hang out the laundry on a small balcony.
If you need, you can ask me the iron and the ironing board.
I have two bikes, so - if you like - you can use one of them. I usually use the folding bike, so you can take the mountain bike. But you have to carry it down and up the stairs for two floors, because the elevator is too small.
Interaction with Guests
I live in Rome from twelve years and I work as a tour leader in Rome. So I'm full of insider knowledge and I'll be very happy to give you tips about visiting the city, how transfering, where eating well, where and how spending a little, how enjoying the Roman night.
In any case, in your room there are a Rome travel map, a guidebook, brochures and flyers with a lot of informations about the city.
I’ll be glad to chat with you, but - don't worry! - I will also give you your own space.
The neighborhood is very lively because many students and young people lives here, and there are many shops, pizzerias, café, ice-cream parlors, grocery stores, a local farmer's market.
But it is quiet and silent in the night, and it is also very safe if you want to come back home alone on late at night.
The flat is in a strategic location. It's a:
- 3 minute walk from Metro B stop Policlinico;
- 15 minute walk or two Metro stops from Termini Station and from Tiburtina Station;
- few minutes walk from the University City of La Sapienza;
- 15 minute walk or few tram stops from San Lorenzo quartier, where is the more living Rome nightlife.
Other Things to Note
Check in and check out times are flexible, but, when you book, I'll be pleased you could write me at what time your plane or train will arrive and at what time you'll leave.
In the entrance there is a world corkboard map (see pictures): help me to pin the flag on the place from which you are!
It's forbidden to smoke inside the apartment, but you can smoke in the small balcony out the kitchen.
About the Host, Gabriella
I'm 31 years old. I'm a native of the fascinating Isle of Capri, but twelve years ago I decided to study in Rome and was absolutely captivated by it!
I enjoy the simple things in life: I love going for Bike rides, cookening, watching soccer games and old movies, discovering historical documentaries, going to photography exhibits and getting lost in the many hidden gems Rome has to offer.
I can say my great passion is travelling and everything that comes with it – mainly the planning! I pride myself on being extremely resourceful: I find a low cost flight, I research the destination through travel social networks and forums, I plan an approximated itinerary .... and I leave!!
I'm friendly and cordial, I never lose the smile; I'm open and curious, I like to communicate and to get acquainted with new people and to know their stories.
I've always loved to host friends and to make them feel at home, so I have decided to make it a business.
I'm a certified tour leader and I've founded ROME SLOW TOUR, which offers alternative tours and customized experiences for travelers eagers to discover Rome like locals.
I aim to offer a more complete and authentic way to visit Rome: I bring travelers closer to the locals and get them really involved in the community, for a real taste of the Italian way of living and feeling.
Equally, I'm committed to protect nature and the environment, to foster a sustainable and responsible brand of tourism.
Here there are different proposals, and all they take it slow:
#WALKING TOURS: led by local guides who draw you on the history, architecture, art, traditions and daily life of Rome;
#URBAN TREKKING: for combining exploration of Rome’s enthralling cultural and natural landscapes with all the benefits of outdoor exercise;
