The b&b "di Piazza Vittorio" is located in a nineteenth-century palace in the heart of the Esquilino area, the city's most multi-ethnic, colorful and vibrant area of Rome.
"The Esquilino neighbourhood is a bit of an island. Although it is located in the centre of Rome – walking distance from the Colosseum and south of Roma Termini railway station – the multi-ethnic neighbourhood has managed to remain something of a secret. Here Bangladesh and Chinese immigrants live alongside a growing African and Middle Eastern community, as well as international artists, writers, film directors and traditional Italian families.
All the locals agree: Esquilino is a unique side of Rome.
Large porticos shield the pavement from the rain and allow Chinese merchants a good space to sell their wares. Upstairs, grand apartments have been scooped up by artists, directors and filmmakers.
Although Esquilino does not yet have many hip or high-end shops or restaurants, the mix is still very interesting. Local architects are renovating rooftop apartments and commercials are filmed on the streets, adding to the buzz...( Monocle magazine Feb.2011)
The owner hase a long experience of travel that she has poured into the renovation of the rooms so that you may enjoy the tranquility and warmth of home, with all the comforts of a small charming hotel, providing it with the most modern comforts. Very lovely B&B, very clean, nice and very well located, near the city center and a subway station.
Ale offered us a very kind welcome and provided a lot of good advices.
This address is excellent and I highly recommend it.
B and B Charme is a homely and very comfortable accommodation in Rome. The room was gorgeous. The hostess Ale is lovely, and makes you feel very welcome! We stayed for 6 nights as we had travelled to Rome for the marathon. It was great to see Ale out on the course on race day cheering us and everyone else on!
It is in a great location for transport and within easy walking distance to many of the cities attractions.
We would highly recommend this B & B for anyone!!
It was a wonderful trip to Rome and I was very lucky to choose Alessandra's place. Alessandra is a great host and place is just wonderful. Alessandra was very helpful; if I ever go to Rome again, I'll stay at her place. Location is perfect, walking distance to Colliseum (5-10 mins), few steps from subway station. The best restaurant in Rome on the other side of the street, ask Alessadra for directions. Room was very clean and made up every day, morning started with a great coffee and breakfast. Free wi-fi internet. Definitely a place to choose.
Very good location and nice rooms, we stayed there for 3 nights in October 2011. Malvina is very helpful and speaks perfect english. The rooms are lovely and very clean as on the pictures.
Alessandra and her son were wonderful hosts. Her place is beautiful and is very conveniently located. It is right near the railway station so if you don't feel like walking, you can just pop across to the other side of town with the rest of the tourist sites. Fair warning, there was a bit of confusion about the price as it differed from what was actually listed on the room, so just confirm this before you properly book. This was cleared up pretty quickly and Alessandra was a very friendly, helpful person to stay with. I loved Rome and definitely would stay with Alessandra again.
It was the first time we have used airbnb and had a great stay in Roma at Ale's place. Ale has been a very charming and supporting host to us. She was staying up until mid-night as we were arriving quite late by plane which was not a problem for her at all. She offered her help on any topic like recommondations for bars, sightseeing spots as well as restaurants and clubs. Every morning there was a nice breakfast waiting for us with hot coffee and milk, juice, fruits, bread and so on. Her spot is located right in the center of Roma and homely furnished. All in all, we would always recommend Ale's place when someone wants to visit Roma.
We stayed at Alessandras place for 4 nights. We loved that place. Everything is VERY clean, she has a sense for details. The breakfast was always carefully done and arranged with love. The atmosphere was harmonic and we totally felt like home. Locationwise its very well connected to public transportation. But you can also go by cab to the historic sites for example without paying a fortune. I definitely recommend this plac.
If I had to use one word to describe our 3-day stay in Alessandra's
lovely space it would be "impeccable". Not only the care we received but also the thoughtfulness of each and every detail made our stay one of the warmest and most comfortable experiences I've ever had (and I am someone who has been to over 25 countries and often stays in 4+ star hotels). She hasn't missed a beat!!
Also, the location is quite central and within walking distance of the Termini station and many of the tourist attractions...yet on a very quiet street. As excited as we were to see Rome we also found our accommodations so comfortable that it made it hard to get out of the house each day.
