My daughter and I were so lucky to rent Rachael's entire flat while she and her partner were on vacation. It's really a great place. It's very spacious with all kind of appliances, high-speed wifi and a big balcony with a view over Yokohama. Very conveniently located a few minutes from Yokohama station, meaning that it's easy to get to or from Tokyo, Narita Airport, Karakuma, and a lot of other places. Lots of nice restaurants nearby. Rachael is a very considerate and attentive host and she provided a lot of information. Very highly recommended.
Rachael and Eric were very accommodating and dedicated to making Yokohama an enjoyable stay. Rachael met me at the train station the first day and showed me the easy walk to the apartment. The apartment is large and clean, very great value - especially with the balcony and sprawling view. Towels, toiletries and wifi password were displayed in my guest room prior to arrival. Rachael wrote a great email recommending sites in Yokohama, Kamakura and nearby Tokyo, and Eric pointed out nearby restaurants, including a great Japanese live music bar. I felt I could ask them (website hidden) is a good experience for anyone wanting to avoid the crowds and costs of Tokyo but experience an authentic side of Japanese metropolitan life.
In 2013, I left my home in San Diego, California to start a new adventure living in Japan. I love traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures first-hand.
I write a travel blog called "The Travel Thread" and teach English at a local conversation school in Yokohama.
We rent our spare room on Airbnb because we love meeting people from across the world. We hope that you love Japan as much as we do, and we're happy to share everything we know and love about our city so that you have the best experience on your visit!
