Where you’ll be

Amherst, Massachusetts, United States

To begin with the Emily Dickinson Homestead is directly across the street from the Inn. Downtown Amherst is a very short walk, with lots of local restaurants and shops.

Hiking and bike trails are all around us. The Nowattuck Rail trail is a short walk from the inns. This trail will take all the way to Northampton and beyond. Walk or tie a bike.it goes across the Connecticut River and it is beautiful.

Amathyst brook is a beautiful walking trail. Many people cross country ski there in the winter. It’s a quarter mile from the inn.

Puffers pond and a gorgeous water fall is open year round. Summer swimming is wonderful. Hiking is also available around the area. Only 10 minutes away from the inn.

Amherst College is a short walk from both inns, U mass is a 20 minute walk, it’s a very large campus, so the busses take you all over the campus and the ride is free. Amherst college is a renound school. It has a wonderful Art museum and a Natural History museum full of dinasour bones.

Hampshire College is a 10 minute drive or a free bus drive. The Eric Carle Museum and the Worlds first Yiddish Book Center are both located on the Hampshire College Campus.

A little further down the road, is the Notch. Advanced hiking trails, with beautiful views overlooking the Pioneer Valley.

On the other side of the Notch, in South Hadley is Mt Holyoke College. This school has been rated the most beautiful school in the country. The arboretum is wonderful to wonder around, as well as a first class art museum.

If you are headed into Northampton, you can get there by bus or car. Northampton is a small town with many wonderful restaurants and shops. Rated the number 1 small arts community in the US. Also home to Smith College, the final of the 5 colleges in the Pioneer Valley. Smith has a wonderful art museum, and a great arboretum run and operated by the botany students at Smith College.

Within an hour of the inn you can find wonderful treasures around the Valley.
Deerfield Village, the original home of Yankee Candle, and Magic Wings , a butterfly museum are 20 minutes north of us.

There is something for everyone here. The Basketball hall of fame and the Springfield museums are 30 minutes South in Springfield Mass.

Come to the Valley, and enjoy all around us.
