My first stay was excellent, so I stayed at Modern Country again in the short term after accepting a job. Ed was very courteous, and is a very honest and attentive host. I'd recommend his listings to anyone coming into New York.
We had a great stay here! Ed was extremely accommodating. We arrived after 1am and Ed was there to greet us and show us around the apartment. The apartment was lovely, clean and suited our needs perfectly. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend Ed as a host!
Fantastic stay. Ed was very attentive during my stay, and goes out of his way to make the experience great. He proactively checked to make sure that I wasn't having any problems with the unit, and the apartment was well-furnished and nicely taken care of. I would recommend Ed, he made the whole experience very easy for like myself who isn't necessarily familiar with NYC.
Ed was very helpful and accommodating. Thanks!
Ed was a great host! He works/lives in the neighborhood, so arranging key pickup and drop-off was very easy. He was very reponsive to all my messages and texts. The apartment appeared just as pictured and was well equipped with extra sheets, towels, air mattress, etc. He was always very kind, helpful and professional. I will definitely be staying with Ed again!
Ed was an amazing host! I was delayed and did not get in till well after 9pm. This was no problem for Ed! Super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I couldn't have asked for a better host!
The apartment was perfect. Great energy, Cool finishing, easy to get in and out. With fenced in parking across the street for a small fee, it was the perfect set up for me.
I will be sure to stay at one of Ed's properties next time Im in Jersey City. Thanks Ed!
A wonderful place and highly recommended! Spotlessly clean and full of character. Ed has a great eye for objects and interiors; the apartment is comfortably furnished and the kitchen is well-equipped.
We stayed four nights during a hot time in early August, but two strong AC units kept the place cool. The rooms are at the back of the building, which overlooks a garden and a church, so it's also very quiet, day and night--this was so even with the ACs turned off.
The neighborhood bustles with pedestrians and business. We walked from Journal Square (about 20 min) in the evenings as late as midnight without any worry. There are also cabs and buses that travel down Bergen, but we felt just fine walking. Grocery stores are conveniently close. From Journal Square, it's a short ride into NYC via PATH.
We chose to deal with street parking; on the three occasions we had to find parking, it was always within one block. We had to move the car twice before morning street cleaning. Not too big a deal. In any case, lot parking is available across the street for a fee.
Ed is a great guy: laid-back, knows the area well, and responded very quickly to questions.
Ed was a wonderful host from arrival to departure (and beyond). As my first airbnb experience, I couldn't have asked for more. He was even kind enough to lend my friend a phone when he lost his. When my ride was late, he held onto my luggage for me until they arrived.
