Our guest room is clean quiet and luxurious. The Cal king sized bed is memory foam with a luxurious down comforter. There is a koi pond outside with a waterfall and gentle stream for your listening pleasure. You will enjoy espresso from the professional espresso machine, a fireplace and superb audio system in the living room . The home is airy and open with music and hospitable folks as your welcoming host.
It is within easy walking distance from downtown, railroad square, bike paths and hiking trails. There are many great restaurants in SLO town. The beautiful tree lined downtown has a river running through it and concerts at the beautiful old mission near the town square on Fridays. The Thursday evening Farmers Market is famous in its diversity and variety of entertainment options. San Luis is the staging town to travel the world famous Big Sur highway 1 coastline or to visit Hearst Castle. The home is within a 13 minute drive of four famous beaches of Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Avila Beach or Montano de Oro.
Charming hosts, charming house, and a very comfy bed. Gus and his wife were lovely, and I wish we had had more time to chat with them. My sister and I had a great little weekend getaway.
The property is in a very nice area and close to downtown. As soon as you walk in you feel at home.
We've stayed at three other properties and Gus and Raeanna were, by far, the most accommodating, warm and friendly hosts we've met. At short notice, they agreed to make room for an extra guest (my mom) for a nominal fee. They made us all feel very comfortable -- breakfast in the morning, music/jam session, hanging out with other guests and their extended family. These are probably the most down-to-earth people you'll ever come across, who are genuinely interested in each one of their guests' satisfaction and would love to make a return visit when our travel plans allow, in the future.
We arrived at Gus and Raeanne's to find the bedroom exactly as pictured. It was large, airy, and comfortable, with a nice king bed, a vanity area and generous closet / drawer space. Gus greeted us with ice cold beers, which were most appreciated. We then spent some time outdoors in the peaceful, beautiful yard with a sweet flock of chickens. We slept well, and the next morning Raeanne prepared a feast of a brunch for us, featuring fresh eggs from their hens and delicious cappuccinos from a heavy-duty machine -- the real deal. Delicious! The conversation was light and fun and we did not have a single unmet need while we were there. They have other spaces available on their property, so it would be a good place for a group, too.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this lovely home. The area is great, the room is clean and comfortable, the hosts truly wonderful. San Luis Obispo is a treat,we intend to return in the future. Thanks so much for the perfect breakfast, too,it was the best we had during our trip down the coast!
We had a great stay with Gus and Ray in SLO. They greeted us cheerily with a glass of cold beer and gave us dining suggestions. Their house is an easy walk to downtown. The king size bed was very comfortable. Gus gave us a terrific tour of his carpentry marvels and also shared some amazing music with us! Ray gave us sound suggestions on college.
Breakfast was delicious with eggs we gathered from the chicken coup. Our visit with Gus & Ray made the weekend a fun experience! They are warm, welcoming easy going and fun. We highly recommend this bnb.
Gus and his wife were amazing hosts. Extremely down to earth people who opened their home and lives to us. We shared good laughs with even better wine. Did I mention he has the most amazing sound system I've ever heard? Ask him to play you some jams.
Awesome stay with Gus and Reanna! They were very accommodating to my late arrival of 10:30pm on a holiday weekend. Great vibes and woke up to a stellar home cooked breakfast with fresh laid eggs from the chickens in back. The coffee with Bailey's was a nice touch too! Had a great little jam session before hitting PCH to go to Monterey. I will definitely be coming back to visit next time I'm on the Central Coast! Thanks Gus and Reanna !! This is a part of SLO history!
Our stay with Gus and Raeanne was the best Bed and Breakfast experience we have had. From the minute we walked in, we felt at home.
Our room was fabulous, linens top quality, the most comfortable bed, light, airy room and everything one could ask for. The little dressing room was great. We appreciated the magnifying mirror and the wonderful natural light, coming from a window which overlooked the garden. The bathroom was unbelievable, huge tub, gorgeous shower and tons of room...a palace. We loved the hens ( the girls, as Gus calls them) roaming in the backyard, and enjoyed their bounty next morning for breakfast.
Raeanne and Gus even invited us to share their Mother's day Champagne brunch with their family and friends. The kitchen is quite the gathering place and we loved the old world charm. We would sit on the stools and have a chat in the morning whilst Raeanne would make us a great latte, a prelude to a delicious breakfast !!!
After brunch we enjoyed listening to the musical talents of the Thomasson family and friends. We were sorry to leave and will definitely come back and stay in the future. Our daughter lives in the Bay area, so this is a good half-way point, to have a peaceful rest and regroup.
This bed and breakfast, is a real home away from home.......not just a room to stay the night. WE LOVED OUR STAY AND OUR HOSTS!!!!!!!!!!
Sandy and Ron Miller
We have found friends for life! Raeanne and Gus are fun, warm, and delightful. Their home is comfortable (and so is the bed) and welcoming... We wanted to stay much longer and will next time (they'll have trouble getting us out). :-)
