My neighborhood is quiet, has easy parking and is close to the beaches, shopping, the Cliff Walk, entertainment, events, the naval base, slots, transportation.
Local transport is three blocks from the house. You may bike anywhere. If you like to walk, everything is within easy access.
No hours other than check in and check out, you may come and go as you please. Please use vent fan in bathroom when using the tub.
Our host wasn't present but she had arranged for two friends who were very welcoming and hospitable,to let us in and made sure we had key and fresh towels, etc. Billie's place is very well located--easy access to great city while in quiet and pleasant neighborhood. Air quality in bedroom and hallway poor (a musty smell). Guest room a little cluttered (for our taste).
The house was in a quiet part of Newport but it was easy to walk in to town and to the beach.
We arrived on the late side and were a little confused about how to find Billie but once she let us in we were quite comfortable. There was a mini-fridge with food and drinks and we had our own bedroom and bathroom as well.
The bed is a waterbed, so perhaps consider this if you are a finicky sleeper or have back problems.
We have allergies and felt the house was a little stuffy so we opened the bedroom windows to let in some air.
Spacious accommodation in a pleasant and quiet residential area, and reasonably close to central Newport. It was a relaxed and private atmosphere and we were able to come and go as we pleased.
Billie's friend Jeanne welcomed us by phone as Billie was out of town. Listing was accurate and the neighborhood was nice and convenient.
Bilie the owner was out of town so we never met her. JoAnne, the lady who let us in was very helpful. She suggested some yummy restaurants that we really enjoyed. The location and neighborhood was fine. Not too far from the Mansions. The hot tub was great after a day of touring. The bed is a waterbed, probably pretty comfortable for 1, but not that great for 2. We missed having TV, the wifi and internet worked fine.
Billie was flexible about our check-in time, and prompt in contacting us. The bedroom is in the right front of the house, and the living area is just to the left. While we were there, Billie stayed in the other sections of the house.
There is a small fridge for guests to use, as well as chairs and beach towels. The house was about 1 mile from the start of the Cliff Walk, and a little over 1 mile to town. It was a little far to walk, but a bike would have been perfect! We were only there for two nights, focused mostly on the wedding we were attending, so we didn't rent bikes. You can park your car in her driveway.
The room had a ceiling fan and air conditioner. Queen waterbed, as others have noted. It wasn't loosey-goosey water, but you could definitely feel your bed partner move. The house was very clean! Unfortunately, my husband has apparently developed an allergy to cats, which he has never had before, and was stuffed up when trying to sleep. This obviously was not Billie's fault at all - because like I said, the place was extremely clean! We would definitely stay here again if my husband didn't have this lovely new allergy.
We arrived in the wee hours of the night and Billie left the light on for us. The living room, bed and bath were as described. The water bed was a treat. The bath towels were fluffy and thick. The neighborhood was nice and safe and we were blocks from all the action. Billie was a terrific host. She's a trained guide for the cruise ships that visit Newport, so she is a wealth of information when it comes to the mansions on the cliff walk. There's a fridge in the living room, containing yogurt, fruit, cream and two beers. I enjoyed them all. When I drank a beer, hours later it was magically replaced with another. Thank you Billie!
I guess the the best thing I can say is that I was sad to leave and look forward to returning.
