The Space

PLEASE INQUIRE ABOUT AVAILABILITY BEFORE YOU TRY TO BOOK! FEMALES ONLY! I AM THE ONLY PERSON LIVING IN THE APARTMENT. PLEASE POST A REAL PICTURE OF YOURSELF, WITH YOUR FACE UNOBSCURED. PLEASE INQUIRE ABOUT EARLY CHECK-IN ON WEEKENDS. THANK YOU!

This place is ideal for a clean, responsible, and matured female visitor to NYC that wants to be in a safe and clean space, with someone that is very hospitable and trustworthy.

I am offering the use of an air-conditioned double room in a 1 bedroom apartment. The bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed, WI-FI, and TV. Fresh bed linen and towels are provided. The clean and tidy bathroom is just off of the bedroom. This you will share with me. I have a hair dryer and iron available for your use. You are welcome to use the living room and have full access to the kitchen to prepare meals.

The apartment is located in historic and multi-cultural Bedford-Stuyvesant, which borders Williamsburg and is located 10 minutes away via the nearby G subway. It is a short walk to to the A/C subway lines, which take 10 minutes to lower Manhattan (New World Trade Center, Battery Park City, South Street Seaport, Staten Island Ferry, Century 21, Wall Street, and New York Stock Exchange). The A express train or C local train will also take you to Soho, 34th Street, Times Square, Central Park, Upper West Side, and Harlem. You can also connect quite easily to get to the Lower East Side and the Upper East Side. There are supermarkets, restaurants, bars, delis, laundromats, and Citibike stations within walking distance of the apartment.

In about 5 minutes on the A train, you can get to downtown Brooklyn (Fulton Street Mall) which has endless shopping options. A few blocks from the Fulton Street Mall, you'll find Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens, which have many restaurants and boutiques. Brooklyn Bridge and the Brooklyn Historical Society are nearby. A short bus ride away, you'll be in Park Slope, where you can people watch whilst enjoying a latte.

The Barclays Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Atlantic Center Mall, and Brooklyn Bridge are all within walking distance of the downtown area, whilst Prospect Park, Brooklyn Botantical Garden and Grand Army Plaza can be reached quickly via subway or bus.

The apartment is a quick bus ride or 15 minute walk to Clinton Hill/Fort Greene, where there is a great cultural vibe. There are many restaurants, cafes, and small boutiques in this area.

The apartment can be easily reached from JFK airport via the shuttle and the A train, so you can save money if you don't want to take a cab. It takes about 25 - 30 minutes via cab and costs around $35.00.

I look forward to hosting you! :-)

  • Sorita was a really good choice for my stay in NY. She is so nice and carrying and made me feel really comfortable in her home! :-) I had a really good time with Sorita and would definitley go again and stay with her!
Although the adress seems not to be in the 'best'area of NY, I had no problems in the neighbourhood!
I totally recommend her to every girl who wishes a save and nice trip to NYC!!! :-)

I'm glad that you had a great time, Marie-Sophie. You're welcome to come back anytime. I loved having you here. The area is up-and-coming, as reflected in the fact that many people have moved from Manhattan to this neighborhood, which is 10 minutes away from Williamsburg via train. Many new businesses have opened up and new ones are popping up each day. Many Europeans live in my neighborhood because it is a bit more affordable than Williamsburg and it is very conveniently located close to Manhattan. They have embraced the neighborhood and seem quite comfortable. In terms of safety, I've never had any issues and neither have any of my guests.

  • Sorita was definitely an excellent host! She tried her best not only to make me feel home, but also helped with many valuable tips on city sightseens and was always ready the help out in every single request. Sorita even arranged a taxi to airport, moreover she was very precise on overall instructions before I arrived to her apartment. The host is extremely communicative, and likes to hear about your country, culture if you found to be a foreigner. For those who like traveling Sorita would be a real soul mate! :)
The apartment was very clean, which was very important for me. It's a nice place to relax after you tour around the city a whole day.
The neigbourhood was mainly african american. I didn't have any problems, but tried not to be very late as walking alone from metro stations at night seemed to be not the safest experience. But as I mentioned before, I didn't have any issues, I guess it was just my first experience in NYC, so it was a bit unusual for me. I wish Sorita's apartment would be located in Manhattan in that sense :)
    Thank you Sorita! :)

It was a pleasure having you here, Nurshaim! :-) You're welcome to come back anytime. The apartment is located just off of the main street, which is always busy. There is a popular bus route, so you'll see people waiting for the bus, plus the shops and restaurants are open until very late. At night, many people get out of my subway stop, so guests never have to worry about walking alone on the street. The women have never had any issues and have found people to be very helpful whenever they've needed assistance with directions or help with their luggage. I understand that some people will be more nervous than others; especially being in a big city like NY for the very first time. I am used to traveling alone, so I'm prepared to offer women valuable safety tips. I love living in Brooklyn because of its diversity, plus Brooklyn is considered way cooler than Manhattan, which is reflected in the fact that many people from Manhattan have moved into many Brooklyn neighborhoods, including mine.

  • I actually ended up staying with friends instead last minute, but Sorita was very accommodating and professional. She seemed like a great host. The room itself was well-equipped and a comfortable size. As I went back to the apartment to grab my stuff, I noticed the neighborhood seemed a little rough at night, so if you're staying here by yourself and planning to leave/return to the apartment late at night, I'd suggest taking a cab.

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Sorita's. My host had a particularly gentle, kind way of being. It is a handy location with easy access to the subway. I really appreciated the fact she gave me a map of New York and the subway. There was also always someone to help me carry my luggage.

  • I spend one week at sorita's place and it was really great. She explains me everything I needed when I arrive for the subway and to help me visit the city. The room was big, with a comfy bed. Sorita had to work a lot, so I didn't saw her much but we still had great talks on the week end. She is a kindperson with great values. I felt safe in brooklyn, and the subway was about 10 min from the appartement. Thank you again sorita for this week!

It was a pleasure having you here, Beatrice! :-) You're welcome to come back anytime.
Guests can choose to use either the G or A train. The G subway is 5 minutes from the apartment, and the A train is 10 minutes away. The A train is the express train that goes to many of the tourist sites. There is a bus that goes to the A subway station, if one doesn't feel like walking. The G and A train connect, so guests can also take the G train and then change to the A train. There are many options.

  • Sorita is the best host one can imagine! The idiomatic expression "Mi casa es su casa" totally suits her hospitality and her home has everything one needs in everyday life! She was so caring and helpful with just everything! She had a map of the NY subway ready for me, having marked all the important stops she already knew I would want to go to and she always had some good advice for me, about where to go, how to get there, what to see/do etc. but also when I caught a cold :)
One easily gets to any place in NY from her place. Her flat is very nice, comfy, clean and tidy and besides, she is a great person to talk to and laugh with!!! I would definitely stay with her again and can absolutely recommend her to all future guests.
Sorita, you made my 12-day-stay in NY perfect!!! Thank you so much! Hope to see you soon in Berlin.

    Un beso de

  • Sorita is the best! She makes you feel right at home. Everything was spotless and clean. She is a great person to talk to and we got to eat the tastiest doughnuts ever! Overall, easy to get to her place, lots of restaurants throughout her neighborhood and her mom makes delicious food! Thank you for having me around Sorita!

  • I had an amazing stay at Sorita's. It was my first time with Airbnb and first time in New York, and I was staying 10 nights on top of that, but she made sure everything went perfectly! When I arrived, I very briefly met the previous guest just as she was leaving; she said Sorita's awesome, and she was right!
The apartment is clean and tidy and has everything you need. You can use the kitchen and Sorita's always happy to help with anything. Although I felt NYC wasn't so different from home most times, she still gave me valuable advice on many occasions, sometimes on little things that only a local could know, always taking her time to explain.
I enjoyed the chats very much too (as well as Sorita's amazing pancakes!), even though I didn't get to see her as much as I'd have liked to, despites my trip being quite long, because I was always so busy! The location also made it very easy for me to reach pretty much everything I wanted to see in NYC, either with the A or the G line. There are even a couple of nice cafés in the neighborhood if you have time to hang out for a latte, as well as delis all along the main street.
    Thanks again for everything :)

About
“ We didn't all come over on the same ship, but were all in the same boat. ” — Bernard M. Baruch I enjoy traveling, meeting people from diverse cultures, baking, trying different cuisines, socializing, concerts, watching travel shows and dancing. I enjoy walking to nearby Fort Greene Park or all the way to Lower Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge, and attending free concerts/festivals in NYC's beautiful parks during the summer. I have a keen interest in what's going on in the rest of the world. I am involved in cultural exchange meetup groups, which gives me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. One group, a language exchange meetup allows me to practice my Spanish whilst helping non-native English speakers to practice and improve their English. I love shopping and am a bargain shopper at heart. I always like to make sure that visitors to NYC get the best deals for their money. Moreover, as someone who travels solo often, I know how important it is for women to be in a clean, comfortable, and safe environment. PLEASE NOTE - VERY IMPORTANT Kindly send me a message before trying to book. I will respond to you as soon as possible and let you know, if the room is available. You'll get a clean, tidy, safe and comfortable place to stay in, and a kind and helpful host; I'd like a guest who is responsible, respectful, pleasant, drama free and willing to clean up after herself. I do this because I enjoy traveling and like to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. I've met some really wonderful people through this service and hope to meet many more. Thank you. I look forward to hosting you. :-)
