The apartment, that is part of an old farmhouse with garden and a panoramic view of olive groves and of the "Spoletana" valley, was the old barn and has been restored with great care and chosing original solutions.
It is a wide open-space, with an open loft with bed and wardobe. Downstairs a kitchen with dishwasher and a table, the living corner with a sofa that becomes a comfortable double bed and the bathroom with shower.
The forniture is modern, with design solutions.
Outdoor, a private space with table and chairs from wich one can enjoy of fantastic sunsets.
We were made to feel very welcome in this lovely apartment. A beautiful conversion which lived up to its description. Thank you.
Rita and Riccardo were the most wonderful hosts! We arrived in the dark, tired and hungry after a 6-hour drive from the Amalfi Coast. Riccardo and Rita gave us a warm welcome, helped us settle in and called a nearby restaurant, Le Due Querce, to reserve a table for us. That dinner was one of the highlights of our trip - fabulous food and very affordable. Our apartment was another highlight; it's a stunning architect-designed renovation of an ancient stone barn, with a spacious sleeping loft set over a comfortable kitchen-dining-living area. Located in a tiny hillside village, it's quiet and peaceful with expansive westerly views.
We came to Umbria for bicycle touring and wine tasting, and thanks to Riccardo we enjoyed plenty of both. On our first morning, Riccardo called ahead for rental bicycles. He graciously led us to the bike shop in Spoleto to pick them up, and then out of town to the start of the bike path. We rode to Assisi that day, and to the vineyards of Montefalco the next day.
Riccardo was happy to discover that we wanted to learn to speak Italian, and he took time to teach us a bit of the language. Our only regret was that our three-day stay was way too short to fully explore the area. So we'll stay longer next time. Alla prossima!
Lovely appartement, couldn't be better. The garden is small but a little paradise, the view spectacular. Riccardo and Rita give you the privacy you need or like, but are there to answer whatever question. The place was clean, bright and comfortable. Hope to return someday!
Jessica and Menno are the perfect guests. It is a pleasure to speak with them and to see how they are interested in new places to discover. We appreciated also their advices on deficiencies that we are going to correct. We hope they will be able to come and visit us again.

Rita and Riccardo were most welcoming and helpful, with suggestions of interesting places to visit and walks to take. Il Borghetto is in a lovely position and has been finished with style. The facilities provided are first class, though a little limited in the kitchen due to the space available.
The hosts are delightful and very gracious. Rita and Ricardo will go out of their way to be helpful. The cottage is visually interesting and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay there. If you're looking for a quiet country experience this would be a great place to book.
Possibly the most beautiful place to stay in Umbria. Ricardo and Rita are divine. So so peaceful, and sitting under grapevines looking out over olive groves sipping espresso sums up il borghetto di bazzano. We could have stayed longer and will definitely recommend.

Riccardo and I were borrn in Roma, where we lived and worked until a couple of years ago. We had the wish of spending part of our time in a quiet country village. In 2001 we visited the "Borghetto" when it wasn't yet the Borghetto of today. The property, abandoned for several years, was in very bad conditions. The water entered trough the roof of the house and it was at risk to break down.... but it had for us the attraction that only old mansions can have, as they tells us many things about happiness and sorrow preserved among their walls. We started a restoration of the property, conducted by qualified architects. The results was very good, as you can see in the pictures. Now, we spend most of our time in this wonderful historical Umbrian area. We can enjoy our preferred hobbies (reading, listening music, painting, biking, doing walking in open air), in a very slow rithm of life. Frequently, friends come and visit us, but we enjoy so much receiving hosts coming from every country, sharing with them the views and the unique beauties of umbrian landscapes and cities.
