About this listing
A 3-bedroom duplex in one of Brooklyn's most beautiful, family-friendly neighborhoods. Just two blocks to Prospect Park, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Manhattan & Williamsburg in easy reach. Very quiet and cozy spot for a group visit.
My spacious duplex apartment is located in the heart of Park Slope, between 6th and 7th Avenues. With the beautiful Prospect Park around the corner, there are many great restaurants and venues in the neighborhood. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, fully furnished, with plenty of space, and plenty to share in the house.
The house has two floors. Upstairs is the master bedroom, with a king-sized bed and adjoining office space. There's plenty of storage here for clothes and suitcases.
Downstairs, there are two adjoining bedrooms with a view to the garden. Each room has private access along with the door connecting them.
One room is furnished with a comfortable full-sized futon. There are drawers and shelving for convenient storage.
The adjoining larger room has a full-sized bed. It is furnished with a desk, a wardrobe, and storage space. Both rooms have air conditioners for the warmer months.
Adjacent to these rooms is a large living and working room, where we keep books and records and read and write. Recently we've added an upright piano to it.
A large eat-in-kitchen is on the top floor, next to the master bedroom. There's a dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and of course refrigerator and stove, and all the tools you need to cook.
Next to the kitchen is the shared bright bathroom, with full-sized tub and shower. No need to bring your own towels or hair dryer.
You're also very welcome to use our speedy Wi-Fi access.
Interaction with Guests
Though we'll be out of the house, you're welcome to get in touch with any questions—logistics, recommendations for cafes, anything you need.
This neighborhood is simply one of the best areas in Brooklyn. Very quiet and full of interesting sites to go out. The Prospect Park is one of its most remarkable spots.
The 7th and 5th Avenues have a plethora of excellent bars, cafés, and restaurants with daily concerts and events.
The neighborhood is especially family-friendly, and so is our house. There are many playgrounds nearby, a new one within two blocks.
Both the F/G ("7th Avenue" or "15th St - Prospect Park") and R trains ("Prospect Avenue") are very convenient to ride. Buses to north and south of Brooklyn run regularly.
The F and R train connections to Manhattan are direct. G will take you to Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Both rides are about 20-25 minutes. I teach at School of Visual Arts in the city and usually take the train to work, it's very convenient.
Parking usually is not a problem on the 16th street.
Other Things to Note
It's a pet-friendly apartment, and we usually have a quiet, friendly dog staying with us (though she will of course be with us during your stay). Let me know, if you'd like to bring your pets, a cat or a dog shouldn't be a problem.
This home is an ideal spot for spending quiet hours after days out and exploring some of the most attractive areas in New York.
