Our lovely room offers a private bath, hardwood floors, a comfy bed and a great location in downtown Kelowna.
Our nearly-new downtown Kelowna home is quite lovely. Your room is on the main floor, which features hardwood floors throughout and tasteful art. The double bed is a new, high-quality spring-based futon. There is a chair and dresser in the room and plenty of closet space. The adjacent four piece bathroom is exclusively yours for nighttime use and bathing/showering.
We are a quiet, friendly, couple who work from home. We have two affectionate dogs. The deck and courtyard garden are good places places to read.
You can walk to downtown restaurants, shops, lakeside boardwalk, and beaches. Swimming, boating and hiking, along with amazing views are very close by. Wine tours are fabulous and in the winter the ski hill is an hour away.
Public transit is a block away.
You can use the kitchen to prepare your own breakfast.
If our calendar looks booked, please enquire anyway, as we have a second lovely room for overflow.
Laundry is available for $8/load, with soap provided.
Living room, kitchen, deck, garden courtyard.
Interaction with Guests
We work from home in our offices on the second floor. We enjoy chatting with guests when we're not working to deadlines and we're always happy to make recommendations for restaurants and our favorite activities. We have books to loan on wine touring and hiking trails.
The neighbourhood is friendly and quiet with a mix of families and seniors. We know most of our neighbours. It is great to be able to walk downtown to the lake, theatres and restaurants
There is a bike path two blocks away on which you can ride downtown and along the lake, all the way to the south end of the city. We also enjoy Knox Mountain, which has great hiking trails and National Geographic views. Knox is a six minute car ride away or a 15 minute bike ride.
There is a bus stop two blocks away, and as mentioned you can easily walk downtown, to a Starbucks, and to two grocery stores.
Other Things to Note
Kelowna is a wonderful place to visit, and to live. We moved here seven years ago from the Toronto area and just love the beauty of nature and the ease of connecting with nature here. We also love that Kelowna has great restaurants and the best shopping in the Southern Interior of B.C.
We appreciate quiet guests with moderate drinking habits, who are in by 11:00 p.m.. No drinking in the house please. Non-smokers only. No entertaining in your room or in other parts of our home.
We take our shoes off at the door.
You may use the kitchen to prepare a simple breakfast or lunch, using your own ingredients. Please do your dishes and leave everything as you find it.
Free street parking.
The bathroom is two steps across the hall and is your private bath for showering and nighttime use. You can keep your toiletries here. We only use it occasionally during the day.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Paddy's home. She is a wonderful host and her home is clean, cosy and very well maintained. Her home is also very conveniently located - in a quite residential area within walking distance of vibrant downtown Kelowna. You will enjoy your stay there!
Paddy was a lovely host. She is gentle and kind and easy to talk to. Her house is clean; and she is very organized. Towels, bed, local maps and guides, and information on the house were all ready for my use upon arrival. The neighbourhood is within walking distance to grocery stores and the Kelowna waterfront, yet is situated on a quiet residential street with a lot of street parking. I had a lovely stay with Paddy and if I visit Kelowna again I hope that her room is available again.
I had an amazing experience staying here for 18 days. I will definitely be back either to stay in the private room or in the other rental suites within the property. Paddy and Jo are such welcoming hosts and very helpful when asking for some assitance regarding directions, tips, etc. Kenya and Biscut are beautiful friendly dogs too!
I was in Kelowna on an Intensive Yoga Training and having quiet time when I came home was exactly what I needed. The private bathroom was spacious, large with all toiletries provided. The room had plenty of closet space, comfortable bedding, and air conditioning/fan if needed. Location was very central about 15/20 min walk to DT and boardwalk or 5 min bike ride. Neighborhood was quiet with free street parking. The garden and patio sitting areas (shared spaces) were beautiful to use and relax! Use of the kitchen for preparing light meals/snacks for lunch/breakfast was a good option. Price was highly competitve as well.
I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet accomodating and central space.
Thanks Paddy, Jo, Kenya & Biscut
Paddy and Joanne's place was absolutely delightful. It is well located for anyone who wants to explore downtown Kelowna and worked really well for us as we wanted to get on our bikes and out of the car as much as possible. Paddy had lots of tips on fabulous places to eat and things to do. They were extremely friendly and welcoming and definitely added a lot to our trip. And last but not least the two canine residents Biscuit and Kenya were usually always at the door welcoming us from our adventures which was always a nice way to end the day.
Our stay at Paddy and Jo's was great. They are very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Their dogs Kenya and Biscuit were an added bonus. Their place was very nice and cozy and had everything we needed for the stay. We enjoyed our stay there and we will definitely come here again next we visit Kelowna :)
Paddy and Jo are very kind and open people who are willing to help you however they can. They live in a beautiful house not far from downtown Kelowna but far enough that it's calming at night. The house was also very clean and had a very relaxed feel to it. The dogs, How could I forget the dogs. They may bark when you first arrive but they were super friendly.
Staying at Paddy and JoAnne's was comfortable, well-located, and welcoming. They have two sweet dogs, a private bathroom as a guest, and a very comfortable bed. JoAnne was very accommodating about my confusion regarding time zones and arriving slightly off schedule. She even left us ground coffee in a French press for the next morning and allowed us to use cream to have coffee on their gorgeous patio. I would absolutely recommend staying here and hope to again in the future!
