The Space

Great home base to explore the city! In the heart of the Bywater/St.Claude neighborhood, we're a 4 minute drive or 7 minute bike ride down to the French Quarter.

The apartment is an artsy one bedroom shotgun with newly refinished hardwood floors, 12 ft ceilings, old school pocket doors, and lots of sun light! There's a big backyard and porch to hang out on, and a well stocked kitchen with an antique gas stove, and beautiful curvy cabinets, as well as coffee for your stay. There's free WIFI, a stereo, and a washer and dryer on site.

There are 3 guest bikes to borrow (an eclectic but working mix of cruisers and road bikes). It's the very best way to get around the city!

The house has a big double bed, a queen sized pull-out sleeper couch, and daybed. Both the bed and pull-out couch have super comfortable memory foam mattresses. The apartment easily sleeps 5.

The house is on a quiet street but a short walk to Vaughn's, BJ's or Bacchanal for live music almost every night of the week. Delicious restaurants like The Joint, Satsuma or Elizabeth's are also all within walking distance. We're right around the corner from the St. Claude Arts District, Shake Sugary bakery, and the Alvar Library, and only six blocks to the river,

Transportation is easy- the house is a block away from the St. Claude bus line, which connects to the streetcar lines, and airport shuttles downtown. There's also street parking right in front of the house.

  • This was a great place to stay in a wonderful neighborhood. Gabrielle was very responsive and friendly when I called, and her guide to the neighborhood served as a fantastic starting point for exploring the city. We enjoyed just wandering around the area, and there are a bunch of really tasty and welcoming places to get coffee and food. It's also easy to access other parts of the city. A definite thumbs up!

  • This place is the best! We had such a great time staying there, it was the perfect home base for our trip to NOLA. A beautiful home with everything we needed, the beds were comfy, the rooms were a cool respite from the heat, and the bikes were an added bonus for getting around.

The place is very well located to a ton of awesome places to eat, drink and listen to music. It's a nice spot away from the main tourist areas, but still well connected for when we got those cravings for beignets from Cafe du Monde in the French quarter.

I would most definitely stay here again!

  • Gabrielle and her unit were AWESOME. First of all, the place is decorated in the funkiest, artsiest way and it was right up our alley. We LOVED having a clean, cozy, and spacious place to return to after a long day of crazy. From the ombred doorways to the art on the walls this place was like a little art museum. Gabrielle was right next door, which made us feel even more at home as she owns the whole building. The courtyard in the back was great to relax in and collect your thoughts from the day. All in all, I couldn't have wished for a better stay in New Orleans and a better landlady. Thanks Gabrielle for being so welcoming and hospitable.

  • The host was very accommodating, although she was out of town she was very available and helpful by phone. We wanted to experience another neighborhood, and leave her home earlier than planned, and she was very great about saying we could get a refund. Although it was quite hot when we visited, the fans and air conditioner kept the apartment quite comfortable.

  • What a great place to stay. Gabrielle was an awesome host who ready to help me with anything I needed. Her place is the perfect spot to sleep and rest while exploring this wonderful city, It has all the needs any traveller could want. Bywater is a great area of New Oleans, it has it's own vibe and great places to eat and drink at. It's also not very far from all the touristy stuff and the French Quater. Would highly recommend Gabrielle and her wonderful place to anyone who wants to visit New Orleans :)

  • Gabrielle's home was great. Proximity to the city bus is excellent. The house isn't on the most beautiful of Bywater blocks, but don't let first impressions influence your future love of the beautiful neighborhood. Follow Gabrielle's restaurant and bar suggestions and you'll be very pleased you chose to stay in this charming area. Communication was easy and quick. The photos are accurate but a bit dated as some improvements have been made and some standard wear and tear has taken place. Nothing that would take away from your amazing stay.

  • Gabrielle's house is great to explore New Orleans.
Very comfortable and everything is there to make your stay enjoyable.
The Bywater/Marigny neighborhoods are great to explore with some absolutely lovely bars and restaurants.Sadly, we couldn't use the bikes as we had our son with us.
