David was a wonderful host. Although he does not speak English you will be able to get by with conversational Spanish.
This is an ideal spot to stay for the San Fermin festivities. It is an easy 20 minute walk to the city center (or you can catch the bus at his corner for 1.20 Euro). This location is ideal for fiesta-goers. Trust me. You do NOT want to stay in the city center. I always like to be in the middle of the action, but being just outside (like David’s apt.) is ideal so you can catch at least some sleep.
David took the time to walk my friend and me into the city and even helped us secure a great deal on our red sash and scarf from a vendor that is his friend (14 euro total). The house was very clean and he was very hospitable – welcoming us with cervezas and showing us the breakfast food he had available to us for free. He even cooked us eggs as bacon one night! He also had a top-notch hairdryer that he brought into our room - unsolicited. Pretty thoughtful!
I was one of David’s first guests, so the house was very clean – especially the bathrooms - and I saw him doing laundry constantly. Unfortunately, there is no wi-fi - which is the only thing I wish had been different. There are at least 4 other rooms in the house to it’s a great way to meet other people who are also there for the Fiesta. There is no air conditioning, but it was never too hot and with an open window I slept very well.
