We were very happy with our stay. We never met Gabriele but he was so organised there was no need to contact him. Most of the information was already in the guest manual and the apartment had everything you needed. I love how the keys were in the key safe so you did not have to wait for the host to arrive. Clean, spacious apartment with very comfortable beds. Small touches like travel guide books in multiple languages, snacks, food and drinks made it all the more enjoyable. Pocket wifi was a life saver, 2 fans, toiletries and large towels, even an adapter. Overall the house was fantastic and Gabriele was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Gabriele's place was so good, we went to the Amalfi Coast and came back to Rome for an extra two days to stay with him AGAIN. That's two times in one vacation. We could have stayed somewhere else, but we didn't.
Gabriele provides such a welcoming, generous, and easy stay in Rome. The apartment is just as described with even more amenities than we thought. There's several bathroom accessories provided, a stocked kitchen for cooking or a quick snacks. A fridge which has some water and sodas (perfect for a quick sugar pick up when you're out walking). Large closest, a small dining table, a flat screen television and a super comfortable bed!
We unfortunately didn't see the host but he responded quickly and kindly to our questions or problems. The apartment was really nice and had a lot of utilities like food, toiletries and a portable wifi. The weekend of staying it was around 40 degrees in rome but the apartment was located in the basement soo it was cool, and also there were 2 ventilators. The apartment was located 3 minutes from a metro station so getting around was very easy. Also you could easily walk to the colosseum(10-15min). We enjoyed our stay very much!
Gabriele is like the all knowing God who you never see but is always there when you call on him. He's super accessible, friendly, welcoming, and generous. The apartment is easy to find, very close to a main subway line, and literally the safest place in the city (across from a police station!)!
The apartment is just as described with a large space, a stocked kitchen for some quick pasta or anything you want to cook, and always some water and soda in the fridge. There's a supermarket or small markets near by, several cafes, and the proximity to the subway station makes Rome so easy to go explore. Gabriele even provides you with "breakfast coupons" that are good for a coffee (cappucino, latte, etc.) and croissant at a cafe down the street :)
Gabriele has a several guidebooks in several languages on Rome (We used two which were actually really great if you go to the Colosseum or Vatican!). But he has this special "House Manual" and it's the best. We read through it, took some of its tips and had a really nice time exploring tourist rome and local rome.
And literally the best part of this place is his portable wifi that you can take with you into the city. We're from Sweden and definitely did not want to pay roaming charges in Italy so with this portable wifi we were able to explore Rome, look up directions, contact Gabriele, and you know internet!
We definitely recommend staying at Home Sweet Home, because it really does feel like home when you walk in :)
Our stay in Rome was good, you are tucked away from the main tourist areas...can be a little daunting at night. Colosseum was walking distance, and a few other sites around it. The apartment was a little claustrophobic as it is like a basement apartment. Very limited with natural light and fresh air. We didn't spend too much time in the apartment as there is so much to do and see in Rome. Positives: breakfast and the portable wifi. Thank you!
Gabriele was a great host. He was very prompt with replies and messages which made it easy for us to get in contact with him. Everything we needed, he was there to provide it! The place is great too, only 2 stops away from the city centre by metro. Wifi is very fast!! Highly recommend.
Gabriele was absolutely fantastic!!! So very organised, welcoming, and generous. The place was perfect, great location and gorgeous appartment :) if we return to rome we will be staying here again as we loved it so much!!
