Very cosy and charming flat. Super plus point that it's a short walk away to the centrum where all the shops are. Marjolein took her time to explain to us about the town and even left a 1 museum card to use. We were 2adults an a child. Works perfectly. Thank you Marjolein!
Marjolein was an excellent host who made our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment provided everything we required, and is close to the city centre, and transport links.
Lovely lady and a wonderful place to stay. Very central but still quiet. Nice and airy apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Nice cute house and decoration and Marjolein was very friendly and give some appreciate information about local shops. In my opinion the heating work perfect to heat the house. It was about 5min walk from the start of the city center, very convinient. I got the ducht caramel bisquits and fresh flowers on my arrival :) Good value for price.
I enjoyed my stay in Marjolein's apartment and she was a friendly and welcoming host. The apartment is close to the old centre which has lots of historical buildings, loads of restaurants and pubs nearby, and there's also an Albert Heijn just downstairs for groceries.
The apartment was comfortable to stay in, and had pretty much everything I needed during my stay.
Marjolein was out of the country during the dates of our stay, so we collected the keys from a window-glass shop across the street and were welcomed into the flat with some detailed instructions and Dutch stroopwaffels - a nice touch. The place was very quirky, and was clean and as pictured on the listing, but unfortunately it was rather cold - a window had been left open, and the heating in the property didn't really seem to be up to the job of dealing with the cold weather we experienced whilst we were there. We were also looking forward to using the 2 bikes that came with the flat to cycle out to a nearby castle, but unfortunately we couldn't work out how to unlock them, despite following Marjolein's instructions and trying all of the various keys we could find that fitted the description. Not quite sure what happened there.
Overall, we were really happy with the location, which was very close to the station, and within easy walking distance of the best bits of the city. The facilities in the property itself were somewhat basic though - it wasn't really well-equipped for cooking (without using the 'oven' in the entrance hall), there was no freezer, and the showerhead was held in place with some plastic and rubber bands. But the biggest problem, as mentioned, was the heating - even with the boiler cranked up to the max, there was lots of huddling for warmth required.
In terms of value for money, you'd probably be hard pushed to find a better place to stay for the same price. In the summer, it would be a far more inviting place, for sure. We'd give it 5/5 for quirkiness, 4/5 for location, 2/5 for cosiness and 2/5 for facilities.
