It is a perfect and comfortable apartment at Donatello Hotel.
The staff at the hotel is receptive and friendly.
It´s location at Civic Center is the best in San Francisco.
Didn´t meet Dana, but my experience was perfect.
Dana was a great host, and answered all my questions in a timely manner. We had an employee from out of town stay here, and he said he would love to stay there again. It is a great price for the location (a block from Union Square), and our employee said the room was great as well.
Dana's communication with me before the trip was exceptional. I was completely up to speed on the process and what to expect before arriving. All went exactly as I expected and the experience was wonderful. The room and everything in it was clean, functional, and attractive. Everyone employee of the hotel that we interacted with were incredibly helpful and friendly. We politely turned down the offer to sit through the marketing pitch but the concierge we turned down was friendly and helped us throughout our 3 night stay. Joe, one of the bellhops, helped us more our luggage to our room. He remembered our names and we chatted with him throughout our stay. The day we checked out he gave my daughter a little gift and wished us well on our journey home. The valet guys were helpful and friendly, offering advice on directions and tips to avoid getting our car broken into at various spots in the city. My wife loved the free morning coffee on the rooftop patio and she also tool advantage of the exercise room.
We asked for a quiet room and were given 717. Our window faced east and was above an apparently unused rooftop parking lot and an empty building awaiting to be rehabbed. It was indeed very quiet.
The location is excellent with a cable car only a block away. My daughter and I rode it every day and night.
We have no reason to look for another hotel the next time we travel to San Francisco.
This was a really convenient airbnb experience and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a hotel experience. Checking in was simple and we luckily got away without getting asked if we were interested in a timeshare presentation. The hotel was in a pretty good location - easy enough to get to and it was safe. There weren't a ton of restaurants within close walking distance that we were interested in, though. I thought this was a great value. The room was massive and comfortable - I'm sure a room of a similar size in the area would be much more costly. Our only complaint has nothing to do with the host, but with the hotel staff. Shortly after checking into our room, someone entered without knocking. She seemed to be confused and even though we were asking/telling her not to come in, she continued. It was quite awkward and left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths. That was probably a fluke thing, though.
The location was perfect for a single traveller. The reception I received was very warm and friendly. The room was more than adequate with all the facilities I required. It was clean, quiet and secure. I would recommend for a visit near the centre.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. It looks like Dana is renting on airbnb his time share that he owns at the Donatello Hotel in downtown San Fransisco, so it was just like staying at a nice hotel, but paid for through airbnb, and probably at a better price. The room was just as it looked like in the picture: modern style with lots of upgrades. The location is a convenient and central place in downtown San Fransisco. We never met Dana face to face, but it wasn't necessary. He emailed all the relevant information, making check in and out very easy. I would definitely stay there again.

Married with three beautiful young daughters. At this point in my life, my only hobbies are whatever I am doing with my girls. Some may call it boring. I call it joy.
I am a timeshare owner who loves to travel. Timeshares (resale, NEVER EVER direct from developer NO MATTER WHAT) have immeasurably enhanced my family's travel lifestyle.
