A funky studio in the lush hills of St. Andrew. 7 minutes from shopping, restaurants and grocery stores. 25 mins by bus to downtown Kingston. Ideal for short visits. Perfect for artists and creative types looking for a unique Jamaican experience.
The SO((U))L HQ is a cozy studio apartment in a cool valley of Stony Hill, St. Andrew. The SO((U))L team has created a haven tucked away off-the-main, great for soul searchers and creative types in need of inspiration and rejuvenation. The apartment sleeps 2 comfortably on a queen sized bed.
Located in a safe residential neighbourhood on the outskirts of Kingston, the HQ welcomes everyone who needs to be away from the hustle and bustle. If you're nimble, a brisk 10 minute walk can serve as cardio and get you to the nearest bus stop. Buses run along a main road that takes you directly to Manor Park (7 mins by car/bus) or Stony Hill Square (3 mins by car/bus) for grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and ATMs.
On the same bus route transport hubs like Half-Way-Tree (15 mins) & downtown Kingston (25 mins) are relatively close by. Buses are the most affordable means of transportation but private taxicabs can be arranged. Since the SO((U))L team lives on the same property it's always easy to hitch a ride with a contribution for gas.
The apartment is private and self-contained with a basic kitchenette that has a kettle, utensils & a cooler. Since there isn't a stove or a fridge this spot is ideal for low-maintenance travelers who want to feed their spirits more than they want to cook gourmet meals. With crickets and birds as your neighbours, and revitalizing early morning showers (no hot water) the SO((U))L HQ is the perfect place to kick back or find fodder for your next creative project.

Interaction with Guests
Hosts live on property and can be easily reached should you have any concerns or queries.
Afifa was totally on point with everything!! Any concerns or issues that I had was addressed immediately. She even provided me transportation. Our vibes were more of family rather than business. The place is identical to the pictures and it's very eccentric. Stony hill is actually a real hill so be prepared!!!
Soul HQ is a total chill place. A getaway still close to the Kingston city. Afifa was a great host. And she has an amazing library on rastafarai culture, reggae and dancehall music and other unique books. An inspiration place indeed.
We had a wonderful stay at the SO((U))L hq and Afifa is a great host. The apartment is pretty big and has a high standard. The house is located in Stony Hill in the outskirts of Kingston and it is quite easy getting to and from the city center with buses passing not too far from the house. I can highly recommend anyone to stay at this unique and funky place!
We had a great experience staying at the SO(U)L studios. Afifa kindly picked us up and dropped us back off at the airport which was amazing. Also we got a lot of help with how to get around and general knowledge of the island. The accommodation is a short walk down the hill to the local bus straight to kingston. The studio is very cool and we really enjoyed hours of reading with the books in the study. I would highly recommend staying here
Afifa and Georgia are great hosts! They were more than accommodating, bringing us to and from the airport, driving us around for food, and activities. They gave us a really great insight into Jamaican culture by sharing their stories and experiences. They even provided us with a local cell so we could stay in touch when we were out and about during the day. The apartment was funky and very comfortable, we even had a sound system to plug in our mp3 player! We enjoyed reading the walls (they're covered in magazine articles and images just like the pictures show), and checking out the library. The apartment is in a complex with a few other apartments, and everyone we met there was very friendly which made the experience even more enjoyable. The apartment itself is perfect for funky young people who are open minded and enjoy deep conversations - the walls will inspire you to talk about a variety of topics. The cold showers take some getting used to, but that's life on the island! We absolutely loved it here and will definitely return when we go back to Jamaica. Thank you Georgia and Afifa!!! You ladies rock!!
My stay with Afifa and Georgia was one of the best travel experiences I've ever had.
They arranged to pick me up at the bus station for a nominal amount. I'd been traveling all day but was delighted to find that the comfy sleeping spot is also the home to their SO((U))L collective so the studio is chock full of books, posters and music. I'm sorry I wasn't there on a Friday when they have a live DJ webcasting.
The next day Afifa was my tour guide. For an extremely reasonably sum she showed me around Kingston. Rather than driving around Afifa suggested we simply get around Kingston via bus and foot. It turned out to be the perfect way to experience the sights and sounds and vibrations of Kingston.
Afifa loves music and culture just as much as I do, so I felt like I was traveling with a friend, not a hired tour guide. (In fact, I think she took more photos than I did!)
Not only are Afifa and Georgia great hosts but they're also passionate activists, so your stay supports a great cause. I can't wait to return to Kingston and stay with them again.
I really enjoyed my stay at Afifa and Georgia's place! Lovely studio, lovely neighbourhood. Every one was very helpfull and friendly.
Thanks again Afifa and Georgia
