Interaction with Guests
I live approximately a mile away right here on Amelia Island. I appreciate a quick text, email or call letting me know you have arrived and everything is as (or better than) you expected. The keypad entry lock is programed for each guest and therefore does not require any key pickup. I appreciate meeting guests if the occasion arrises. It is of course at your discretion.
Amelia Landings is nestled in a secluded, serene southern live oak-lined setting centrally located on the Island and a short walk down a private path to the spectacular Amelia Beach. The complex is a quiet family oriented well maintained community.
There are 5 wonderful Florida State Parks within 10 miles, Fort Clinch, Amelia Island, Big Talbot, Little Talbot and Fort George/Kingsley Plantation. There are several golf courses in every price range and difficulty on or near the island including a great miniature golf place just down the street for the entire family. It is an easy stroll to a few decent bars, restaurants, ice cream places and of course the beach. The historic downtown Fernandina Beach offers spectacular dining, shopping, entertainment and art galleries.
Amelia Island is consistently rated in the top 10 island vacation destinations in the US. TripAdvisor’s Travelers Choice 2013 Winner (#9), “Amelia Island loves a (family-friendly) party! The small Sea Island is particularly well known for two annual festivals: the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival. But there’s plenty to do year-round. Hit the beach for some water sports, explore the island on horseback, take in a show at a community theater or just wander around the charming historic district. The Amelia Island Museum of History offers educational walking tours, including a spooky Ghost Tour that will give you delicious chills.” The Family Vacation Critic (#8), “Nestled off the coast of northeastern Florida, just over the border from Georgia, [Amelia Island] is the last of the southern barrier islands that are made up of pristine, dune-filled beaches. Four major state parks and a national park are within reach of this quiet, preserved stretch of land where hiking, biking, horseback riding and camping helps your family escape our technology-filled world. There's history here, as well, with Fort Clinch reminding of Florida's place in the Civil and Spanish American Wars. Moss-draped, centuries-old oaks pave the way into Fernandina Beach, a historic town filled with boutiques and homes. Amelia Island has a mild climate throughout most of the year, growing hot and humid in the summer months, which makes ideal weather for canoeing, kayaking and sailing.”
The Amelia Landings condominium complex is nestled in an impeccably maintained southern live-oak stand a block from the famous Amelia Beach. You can easily walk not only to the beach but numerous other places to eat, drink and shop.
Walkable local businesses include La Mancha Authentic Spanish Cuisine (rated #1 on the island by TripAdvisor, Yelp and UrbanSpoon spring 2014), Sliders Seaside Grill, Cedar River Seafood, DeNucci's Soft Serve and Dairy Queen. The Pipeline Surf Shop and Beach Rentals and More have a variety of lessons, rentals and beach accessories. Flounder Gigging Charter will gladly take you on a fantastic fishing trip. I recommend that my guests have a car available as public transportation is not an option on Amelia Island. You could take advantage of the several cab companies, the Amelia Island Airport Shuttle and local Enterprise Rent-a-Car Agency.

The decor, as well as Scott's detailed info about the condo and it's contents, as well as his suggestions for local sites, was very helpful and welcoming.

Scotts condo was a wonderful place to stay for vacation. It was completely furnished with everything we needed including some extras that we weren't expecting like boogie boards, skim boards, and an umbrella for the beach. Everything was very very clean and there was plenty of activities to do inside including some toys for our children on the one day it rained. Scotts condo is very reasonably priced considering you get a two bedroom two bath place to stay that is similarly priced to the hotels in the area. The condo is completely updated and a very contemporary but cozy relaxing retreat. The pool area is right next to the condo which is a very short walk and was never busy in fact we had the pool to ourselves many afternoons. My family and I will definitely consider staying at Scott's condo in the future. It was our first experience in Amelia Island and we definitely have to recommend Atlantic seafood market which is a small seafood shop right next to the Amelia River where you can get fresh seafood which we cooked back at Scott's condo where he had all the utensils and even a steamer to steam the shrimp. It felt just like home. Thank you scott for providing a wonderful place for my family to stay during our 2014 vacation.
We had a wonderful stay at this condo. It was lovely and fully equipped with everything one might need on a beach vacation. The nearby beach is beautiful and the pool is very nice. Scott was an extremely helpful and responsive host. We would definitely stay at this condo again on our next trip to the area.
Scott's Villa was extremely comfortable and was centrally located. We enjoyed our stay immensely and look forward to our next trip to Florida!

After vacationing on Amelia Island numerous times we decided to retire here. I am sure you will love vacationing here as well. This is our beach R & R Villa. We absolutely love Amelia Island and our home here. I am an avid outdoors person and find the beaches and local parks perfect. If you happen to enjoy birding, biking, surfing or sea kayaking, being at the beach or swimming in the pool we have something in common. Although I only caddy now, golfing is one of my favorite low key social events. There is everything from the world famous TPC at Sawgrass (50 minutes) to fantastic local courses of every class. My wife is partial to the antiques, local artisans & craftsmen and fine food. I surely can't complain.
I happen to be a retired engineer who specialized in experimental fluid dynamics. My fluid of choice was blood and stroke research my concentration. You can throw in a bit of atmospheric science and of course geeky computer stuff as well. I taught students how to hook things up to a computer besides printers and cell phones and hopefully do a bit of meaningful exploration of the world around them.
We generally travel without an agenda if at all possible and try to experience a more local or laid back feeling. I depend on feedback from my friends and web sites like Urban Spoon, Yelp, TripAdvisor or gogobot to guide my path.
