  • The room is very nice and spacious, there is a large kitchen with a very nice lounge but in winter the room is cold enough. We have not met Sylwia, it is unfortunate, but we got by email and phone very good contact, it is very friendly and accommodating. The house is far from the subway and it is difficult for the bus because they are never on time and do not post their timetables at the stops.

  • Great space i loved it, it was perfect for me nice, clean, warm and close to the light rail with a short ride to the subway to NY. I plan to stay again when i return. The host was nice, polite and easy to get a hold of. I loved the bathroom and comfy bed. I didn't get to use the kitchen but wanted to next time i will. I totally recommend this place.

  • We had great time here. She was very nice and the room was clean and large enough for two ppl. The neighborhood looks kinda scary at night but we didn't have any problem while walking around there.

  • Stayed at Sylwia's place for 3 nights. Getting in touch with Sylwia was easy and she was very responsive to requests. The room was as described. Neighborhood felt a bit unsafe at night. Overall, it was an affordable place to stay while we visited NY.

  • Having stayed here for 3 nights, I think it's safe to say that this has been our worst airbnb experience bar none!

First off, the house is located in the GHETTO... upon circling around the block looking for parking, we passed by multiple boarded up homes, odd-looking men standing around on the corner at wee hours of the night, and even some burning fire in a trash can in front of an abandoned house/building...this was something one would normally see in a movie; unfortunately, it was very much real.

Upon our arrival, we couldn't figure out where the keys were or which door to open. So I called and texted Sylwia who was unresponsive. I later check my txt messages and found that Sylwia texted me the instructions earlier. However, the fact that she only got back to my call/text via text message the following morning, didn't leave for a good first impression. Unfortunately, that's not where it ended.

The door that locks the house has a bad lock. And both my gf and I got locked inside the apt on our second day. Once again, I tried to reach Sylwia, but she was unresponsive as usual...We had to climb out of the window to get out. An hour after this ordeal, I got a text from Sylwia saying that she's sorry she can't reply sooner...unlike us, she's "not on vacation."

The pics of the apt are fairly accurate. However, they fail to account for the dreadful neighborhood or mediocre cleanliness of the place. Our linens looked and smelled like they weren't changed from the guests prior.

If you've never been exposed to soviet-era hospitality and want to find out by spending your night in the ghetto, then this place is for you!

  • Me and my wife stayed at Sylwias apartment for 4 days. We stayed with two other guests and it was no problem sharing space with them. We have nothing to complain about!! The room was clean and Sylwia is a great host! Thats all we ask for and we`re totally aware of that we`re not staying in a hotel. It was quite easy to get to Manhattan, but it took aprox 40-50 min. 10 min walk down to Liberty State park station, Light Rail to Hoboken and then The Path to 33rd street Manhatten. Taxidrivers and others told us about a "scary" neighbourhood, but we didn`t see anything. Although my wife wouldn`t take a walk on her own, specially after dark. Our stay was worth all the money :-)
