My boyfriend and I booked Sylwia's place to stay while visiting some friends. Before we arrived, she gave us very clear directions to access her place. We shared the place with either one or two other people who we never saw. And unfortunately, they weren't the cleanest people in terms of bathroom use (e.g. Hair everywhere in shower). Everything in our room was clean though. Sylwia left us towels (but no washcloths). There's an AC unit in the room we used. I'm not sure if the rest of the house had AC, we didn't spend much time inside. Parking was a bit hard to find at night, probably because of the summer weather and few house parties/bbqs on the block. People in the neighborhood weren't loud though, which was good, so we didn't mind. Overall, our stay was a good experience.
Sylwia wasn't available when I arrived and there was a bit of miscommunication regarding how I would get the key. However, the premises themselves were very clean and as advertised. Clean sheets/towels and a comforter were provided. It is less than 10 minutes away from the light rail station, and the neighbourhood was fairly quite. Very friendly people who are willing to help. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this place to others.
We stayed at Sylwia's place in conjunction with a convention of Jehovah's Witnesses, and our stay was very pleasant. Everything was as exactly as shown on the website, and it was very smooth getting into the room. Also, the room was very clean and comfortable. She had left towels out for us too! Even the common area/kitchen was clean and very usable. Thank you so much for the experience, it was very pleasant!
Sylwia has a amazing house, very well equiped with a confortable bed and a nice shower. I did not get to meet her but everything was arranged perfectly. The neighborhood looks bad and it's 20 minutes by walking to/from PATH station, the train to Manhattan. You can take a bus that costs US$1,50. I have a problem in my second night with someone with such heavy steps at the upper floor. The steps started at 3am and goes to 8am (I can't sleep). Besides that, it was allright, excelent price.
Nice and easy to deal with, the whole setup is similar to a hotel with multiple rooms all allocated out to people. Super friendly and nice, had everything I need.
We had a very good time staying at Sylwia's place. The room is large, the bed is very comfortable, and Sylwia is a great host. The common area with the kitchen is also very nice.
The house is in walking distance from the ferry stop to the Statue of Liberty, and about an hour by public transportation to Manhattan. A small downside is that the house is in New Jersey and you cannot use the New York metro card for the bus or light rail to New York.
The neighborhood looks pretty bad, but we didn't have any problems. In case you don't eat in NY, there are several grocery shops very close nearby, as well as a really good family-owned Mexican restaurant.
Overall we had a very nice stay, and the place is definitely recommended.
