Interaction with Guests
We understand that every guest comes with a specific set of needs. Some guests might be looking for a quiet time away from conversation and socializing, while others love interacting and connecting. We are happy to go with the flow ! We are always ready to answer questions or provide directions to our favorite restaurants - and we love conversations around the kitchen table or while sitting on the deck with a cup of tea.
We love living in the San Geronimo Valley and the peace and serenity that comes with country living.
At night the only sounds one might hear are the the hooting of the owls or the occasional howling of coyotes in the nearby hills.
We love our neighborhood and the fact that we know our neighbors well. This is a place where we celebrate the full moon with neighborhood gatherings and where our children grow up riding horses and bicycles down the street.
We are smoking and drug free. Only limited alcohol use only please!
Because of allergies we keep the house scent and chemical free.
The hosts are very warm and inviting people. Cozy house. Comfortable bed. What more can you ask for. Quiet neighborhood in one the most beautiful areas of California.
Iris was very communicative before my arrival. A very sweet person and lovely home. Her two dogs were wonderful as well. Iris was very accommodating and flexible.
Iris and Claudia were such sweet hosts. They also have the cutest and fluffiest border collie, Maggie, whom i will miss fluffing her face. The room is quiet, serene, clean, comfortable, and a perfect get away from the city for anyone looking to emerse themselves in the heart of Marin.
Before I even walked through the front door, I knew this would be a special place... Full of warmth and smiles, Iris and Claudia were an absolute delight. Their sanctuary is so clearly an extension of their hearts, overflowing with doggy love and tortoise wisdom. I feel blessed to have found them, and very much cherished that little corner of paradise they call home. What a gift! :D
The town of Woodacre is in a sunny valley nestled between steep, forested hillsides. It is a magical place which has attracted people who can feel the spirit in nature. The Buddhist meditation retreat center, Spirit Rock, is just across the highway.
I was welcomed by Claudia, who shares this home with Iris. Her warmth and ease harmonized with the feeling of the house, which is comfortable and unique. I felt immediately relaxed as I was introduced to a remarkable rescued tortoise and two very sweet dogs.
The room and bed were comfortable, the house was very quiet and peaceful, and the garden is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the fresh air and views. Nearby there is hiking in the redwoods, Marin headlands, or, at bit further, Point Reyes National Seashore or Tomales Bay. As for myself, once there, I found it hard to leave!
The room was exactly how it looks (bigger that I expected even). I enjoyed the warm hospitality of Iris and Claudia. They make you feel like you are a prized and welcomed guest in their home, which I really appreciated. I was invited to dine with them, and was provided with excellent local suggestions. Great location too. I'd love to return to their home.
A lovely, quiet, peaceful, comfortable home hosted with grace, warmth, and simple human kindness. I'm really glad I stayed there.
