Spacious Apartment near City Centre

Apartment - Private room · Maryville, Ballintemple, Cork, Ireland

The Space

We are living in an amazingly spacious apartment that is full of personality and an Asian twist. We always bring back art and things to remind us of each travelling adventure we have been on.

We have a bedroom available which will accommodate 2 people in a comfortable double bed. We have a large living area with two living rooms and a kitchen, all of which you can use as if it were your own home while you are here. We also have wifi which is free for you to use during your stay. There is also access to hairdryer, straighteners, iron etc.

We are living near the Marina which is a walkway that leads the ships from the Cork port out to the Atlantic Ocean. Around the corner there is also a beautiful pond with loads of wildlife and birds. On Sunday you can take a short walk to buy your fresh and delicious breakfast from the Blackrock Farmers Market. Further up from this market is a Castle which has been renovated into a restaurant and an observatory. Local amenities include a shop, pharmacy, post office, a pub and a bank.

We are on a bus route to the city centre or if you are feeling energetic you can walk to town it as it is only 15-20 mins (depending on your walking pace!)

We would consider ourselves to be artistic and musical people who love meeting new people and learning about new cultures. We speak English around the house and we also use Sign Language.

If we are free we are able to provide a collection service from the airport for a reduced fee of €10.

  • I just spent two nights at Keira and Ronans.
Very friendly at once and helpfull - Ronan picked me up in front of the City Hall the day I arrived.
Maybe I got lucky ... ?!? Keira cooked dinner and offered to share it. Great thai food. Convennient location. Warm and friendly experience globally.

  • We stayed with Keira and Ronan for two nights and their flat is nice and cozy. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the morning sun showering in on us in the mornings. Keira and Ronan are super sweet and very inviting. We stayed up late one night chatting and hanging out with them and their friends as if we had been part of the group all along. They are located just a few meters away from the bus stop which gets you into the city center in just about ten minutes. We would definitely stay with these guys again if we're ever back in Cork.

  • We had a great time in Cork and at Keira's and Ronan's place. Even it was on very short notice, they let us stay at their house. Keira was gave us a warm welcome and very handy tips for dinner.

  • Staying with Keira & Ronan is like coming home to dear friends! Their airbnb description of their flat is exactly what you will find when you arrive. It is spacious, comfortable, and colorfully decorated. My room on the second floor was like a private suite! The room is large with a wall of windows/doors leading out to a terrace with lovely neighborhood views of the hillsides surrounding the city. The bathroom is shared, yet again, large, with plenty of space to leave one's toiletries. The flat's kitchen is modern and open (I want this kitchen for my house!) with everything needed to cook a meal. The wifi available was strong throughout the flat and a couple of people could be using it without any noticeable slow down. Lastly, the location of the flat is superb! The neighborhood is absolutely charming with any thing you need (grocery, cash machine, pharmacy, bus stops, pubs) at your doorstep. At the same time, the area is quiet and offers quick walks to the beautiful Atlantic Pond park with a long riverside footpath that you can see all ages enjoying. Slightly longer walks (20-25 mins.) provide direct routes to the city centre (great shopping, pubs/restaurants, cultural event venues) or Blackrock Castle (with a cafe & restaurant - even an observatory)! While the accommodations are thoroughly complete, the absolute gems of the stay are Keira and Ronan!! From being met at the airport to the being dropped off at the train station, the pair could not be more thoughtful! I was offered every attention, great travel tips, and even treated to a sumptuous home-cooked Thai dinner! With this well-traveled, smart, and easy going couple, we shared many engaging conversations and much laughter! I whole-heartedly recommend a delightful stay with Keira and Ronan!!

  • We had a wonderful stay in Keira and Ronan's home, we enjoied theire beautiful house! They are so sympathical and chatty people, who made us a warm welcome!

  • We had an absolutely wonderful time in Cork with Keira and Ronan. Really friendly, helpful hosts who gave us loads of tips on things to do and places to go, picked up maps to help us find our way, dropped us in town when we were late for a reservation we'd made and generally went out of their way to accommodate us.

The flat is lovely, the room is huge and has a balcony overlooking cork, and they were happy for us to use the kitchen and living room, whilst providing delicious breakfasts every morning for us.

We definitely recommend Kiera and Ronan's for anyone wanting a short stay in Cork like us (fifteen mins walk to the centre max) or longer for hospitality and location.

About
This is Keira and I have an obsession with Asia! I love all things Asian and would love to live in Bali or Vietnam some day. I enjoy travelling to meet new people and experience new cultures and I am constantly looking at flights even when I can't afford them! In 2012 I beat a Guinness World Record for the Most People Bodypainted. That certificate is one of my favourite possessions. I enjoy challenging myself to do things that are a little outside the box. I love to read and if given the time I will read at least a book at day. I am currently studying Counselling and Psychotherapy and Sign Language. Ronan is obsessed with music and can cook the best mash potatoes in Cork. He loves reading books about spirituality and also enjoys football and boxing. He has basic French and his vocabulary becomes increasingly impressive after a glass of white wine! Ronan loves to play guitar and if you are able to play, he would happily sit and jam with you until you want to leave the house and explore Cork! We use both English and Sign Language around the house and love to welcome anyone with an open mind and and those who have an eagerness to learn about different ideas, thoughts and cultures. If the time is available we love to get to know our guests and learn all about and your life but should we all be too busy, we will still enjoy the quick chat in the kitchen in the mornings!
