Whether your group is 1 person or 10, we can help you explore the area. We have listed 4 rooms on the airbnb site Each room is listed individually to allow more flexibility in choosing rooms that meet your group's needs.
Oso is located in the guest house and has a King Bed, 2 chairs, private bath en suite, private patio and entrance to the courtyard. There is a shared kitchenette in the main house with frig and small microwave. There is a coffee maker in the room, free wifi, a fountain in the courtyard and one on the private patio. Oso is a pet friendly room. There is a $16/visit pet fee. For pets, we can do only dogs, no cats - sorry. So many people have really severe allergies to cats and we do have a regular bed and breakfast clientele as well, so need to limit to dogs
Our B&B is located just outside El Paso (15 minutes) in a rural residential neighborhood that is on the edge of open desert. Because of our rural location, guests need to have their own transportation as there is no public transport available. This setting is perfect for travelers wanting a quiet peaceful setting in the desert instead of the usual hotel/motel scene. However, the last 1.5 miles is gravel road which can be bumpy, not suitable for bikes or motorcycles.
Each room is decorated in unique southwestern design. There are courtyards and patios for watching the magical New Mexican sunrises and sunsets. Three sets of mountains are visible from the large back patio - in NM, TX and Mexico.
We have a four-legged concierge dog, Peanut who loves visiting with guests and guiding them on walks in the desert. Because of our desert location, we have desert wildlife all around us - quail, roadrunners, hummingbirds, and yes rattlesnakes, scorpions and other fun guys. We ask that guests respect the natural life and keep themselves and other guests safe by keeping doors closed.
Check in times are between 3 - 7 pm. If you need an arrival outside of those times, please mention that in your request.
Smoking is allowed outside. Ashtrays are provided on all patios.
Check in time is between 3 and 7 pm.
Quiet time is 10pm
Keys will be given for guests staying more than 1 night or those arriving early and heading out to explore the area, go to dinner etc.
People traveling with dogs are asked to keep dogs on leash around the patios and other guests, and to pick up after their dogs on the property. There is plenty of open desert for dogs to use to run and use as a bathroom.
Marlene was very engaging and friendly and also helpful. Our room was absolutely charming with en suite, all done in Southwest theme with Native blankets and adobe floors. Loved it. She also had a nice continental breakfast waiting for us in the morning in the sun room overlooking the mountains. Would go back for sure.
Michael, thanks for your kind comments. I just wanted to make a quick reply to your note about the internet connection - we just had 4 people in who were able to connect immediately with no problems, so it really depends on the settings for each electronic device. Some computers have settings established that users may not even know about. Our system seemed to be working fine and with the little extra tweak getting you the IP address, you were able to access. Again, I am sorry you had problems. Respectfully, Marlene
Marlene is a fantastic host. She was there to greet us at the door, show us the common spaces and services she provided and then she showed us to our room which was fantastic. The room itself is very private and includes its own outdoor space. Full of character, very clean, and spacious. We had a very relaxing stay at casa de suenos. Located about 30 minutes from downtown El paso and the airport, it is that perfect inbetween place to stay if you want something a little more secluded but close to the city. Thanks Marlene!
I happened on Marlene's beautiful retreat, Casa De Suenos, on a recent drive across the US, having spent two previous nights in lesser accommodation. After about 14+ hours behind the wheel, I was in desperate need of somewhere comfortable, tranquil and restorative and Marlene's place looked to be the answer. About a 15 minute drive outside of El Paso and down an unpaved, country road, I arrived to find Marlene's B&B exceeding every expectation. Though Marlene had already tucked in for the night, I felt welcome - the room was charming, elegantly decorated in true Southwestern fashion and ample in size. The facilities in general were spotless, the towels and bathroom products of good quality and the bed divine. I left Marlene's home the following morning at 5am fully restored - she even saw me off with a strong cup of coffee before my departure.
Can't recommend this listing and Marlene enough!
We arrived after dark. Marlene left the lights on and the door unlocked. This was our second time visiting Casa de Suenas. We enjoyed the accommodations, again.
Another brilliant stay at this hotel this hotel had the authentic red Indian type feel to it and being in the desert make it so wonderful for all Red Indian fans
I feel so lucky to have stayed at Casa de Suenos. It is the perfect distance from town, getting there is very stress free (the gravel rode is no big deal and actually adds to the charm). My room was very nice and the property is gorgeous! I had a very restful and restorative stay, Marlene and Peanut are great hosts! I look forward to staying again.

Charming setting and environment. Authentic southwest character. Peaceful and relaxing, with an amazing view from the courtyard looking out over El Paso towards the mountains. Marlene is a great host. Very personable and accommodating. The coffee is outstanding too! We will definitely stay here again!

For the last 10 years, my husband and I have been running a Bed and Breakfast - Casa de Suenos, on the edge of open desert in a residential community in NM, but just outside El Paso TX.
I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and since I don't get to travel any more, I love hearing the stories from our guests.
I maintain the house and 3 acres our B & B is built on. That is a pretty full time job, but I enjoy making the grounds a true desert experience for our guests.
In terms of guests, we have had the most wonderful guests at our B & B. We are pretty laid back and live in a quiet residential area in the middle of the desert. We appreciate guests who like to connect with nature, are respectful of mother earth and appreciate the quiet of the desert.
