About this listing
This is a great double bedroom in a two bedroom cottage in central Richmond. It comfortably fits two and is beautifully furbished. It is within minutes to buses, underground and overground trains station. Lots of restaurants and shops close by.
The double bedroom is the guest room in my 2 bedroom Victorian period cottage. The cottage is situated within the heart of Richmond's highly sought after area "The Alberts". It is in a quiet residential cul de sac road. The cottage is picturesque with period features and a landscaped rear garden. It has been recently refurbished. The guest double room is upstairs, carpeted and is beautifully decorated with built in wardrobe. The large double bed is new, very comfortable and the window opens to a lovely view of the garden. All linens are provided. The shared large bathroom and toilet has a shower in the bath and heated towel rail. The sitting room is also beautifully furnished and has period fireplaces. You are more than welcome to relax in the garden.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooking range and oven, dishwasher, microwave oven and washer/dryer.
The cottage is in the heart of Richmond upon Thames with several pubs and a fantastic deli just around the corner (2 minutes walk). Richmond is a very green and lovely area, with Richmond Park as well as a village green and the riverside parks. Richmond high street (approximately 7 minutes walk) has a large number of independent shops, delis, restaurants together with the usual chains and a department store. Richmond also has two wonderful theatres (the Orange Tree and the Richmond Theatre), and two cinemas, and is situated next to the River Thames with lovely views. Twickenham rugby stadium, the home of English rugby is a brisk walk or a short bus ride away. The world famous Kew Botanical gardens is within walking distance or a short bus or London Underground Train (The Tube) ride away.
There are numerous bus stops within 2 minutes walk, and it is 8 minutes walk to Richmond tube and train station, with direct trains and tubes into central London and out to areas of interest such as Hampton Court and the Palace of Windsor. On-street parking is also available (residents parking vouchers are available at cost) with free parking before 10am and after 4.30pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Please note price is for 1 person. Additional person will be 20 Sterling extra.
I am fine for long term guest to use the kitchen to warm ready prepared food in the microwave but not to do any major cooking on the range or oven. Stay of less than one week, I would appreciate that you take advantage of the many fabulous restaurants and gastro pubs in Richmond. Price is for only bed and breakfast so please do not request cooked dinner or ask to self cook meals.
Laundry facilities are only available for guest(s) of more than one week.
Interaction with Guests
I am happy to share my knowledge of London and its surroundings.
My neighbourhood is very safe - the best of country and town. Few minutes walk to the shops, Richmond Park and the riverside.
Very convenient for transport - buses, underground trains and British Rail trains. Getting to central London is no trouble at all.
Other Things to Note
Continental breakfast is provided and masses of coffee/tea and biscuits at other times. If guest(s) would like something more substantial, there is a very good deli around the corner of the street. This deli is famous for its food and does a very good breakfast.
Security deposit applies to stay of more than 1 week.
Prior to check in, I would appreciate if you could show me your ID and rental agreement. As a non smoker and smoke intolerant, I would also appreciate no smoking inside the cottage. In order to avoid insects and rodents in the cottage please do not eat or store food in your bedroom. I would also appreciate that guest(s) avoid wearing outdoor shoes in the cottage. There is only one bathroom in the cottage which is not for your sole use ie it is a shared facility with the family. I would appreciate if this could be kept dried and cleaned after your use.
Do forgive me for the above rules but stated to to avoid any misunderstandings or misconceptions. I look forward to helping you to enjoy your stay in my cottage and London.
Siumee was very welcoming, room was clean and as described. Perfect location, near centre Richmond. Good communication and would definitely stay again.
We had a lovely stay at Siumee's house. She was easy to communicate with prior to our stay and was flexible with our arrival and departure times. The room was perfect and as described and bathroom facilities were very good. The house is located in a quiet area but a very short walk, maybe 5 minutes, into Richmond centre, exactly what we required. Siumee made us feel very welcome, we had a lovely breakfast and numerous cups of tea! Thank you Siumee, we'll certainly return if we need to stay in Richmond again.
Very nice and cosy cottage, just few minutes away from Richmond bars and restaurants.
Great host and lovely breakfast was provided. We enjoyed our stay very much!
I would like to say that the host, Siumee was very kind, sociable, accomodating and hospitable. She prepared excellent breakfast. Her house was very well appointed and comfortable. Amazing bathroom, cozy room, warm atmosphere...In addition, wi-fi was good signal. Everything was clean and orderly. It is very close to Richmond centre and near the cafes, pubs and shops and in a quiet area although bus stations and train stations are close. I would highly recommend you to stay here. I felt here as at my own home and miss it so much. Thank you Siumee, I hope to see you again!
To leave a friendly and cosy cottage to reach out to Richmond and London has been one of the most homy experiences I had in years. This is thanks to the friendliness and the great breakfasts the landlady has been providing me with for the whole week. Happy to go back!
Siumee very kindly let me stay for just one night. Very clean and accommodating and wifi was a good signal. Just what I needed.
