Great house for a family traveling with little ones. A comfortable, clean, friendly house in a great location for getting around Portland. Wonderful neighborhood for walks, coffee, parks.

The Space

Good location for exploring and getting around Portland, whether by car, bike, or public transportation.

Our house is family friendly. It has three bedrooms. Two bedrooms have queen beds, and one bedroom has a twin bed and a toddler bed. One queen bedroom is downstairs. Upstairs is where the other queen bedroom and twin/toddler bedroom are located. There is one bathroom with a large clawfoot bathtub/shower. The kitchen has a breakfast nook, but there is also a separate dining room. We have lots of children's books and toys to entertain young ones.

We have a pack-n-play available if you are traveling with a baby.

Fenced backyard with a play house and a kiddie pool. Bright, cheerful decor with big windows to let in lots of light. And the fabulous Arbor Lodge Park with Harper's Playground is just 5 blocks north. It is a favorite place to play for our girls.

Columbia Pool is just a quick drive away. Peninsula Park is close as well.

Overlook is a great neighborhood to take walks. Coffee shop (Blend), restaurants/bars (Mextiza, The Old Gold, Beaterville, Hop and Vine, Handsome Pizza, La Bonita), parks (small Adidas park and Arbor Lodge Park) near by, all within just a few blocks. Near Adidas headquarters (0.2 miles away). House is located on a bike route. Close to public transportation: buses and MAX. Good location for getting around Portland. Close to I-5. Easy to get to downtown (just take Greeley), and not far from Mississippi Street. University of Portland is 2.2 miles from our house. 3.9 miles to Downtown Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Guest Access

The entire main floor and upstairs of the house, fenced backyard, and there is a washer/dryer in the basement that is shared.

We have an amazing, respectful, kind tenant that lives in our basement (completely separate living quarters). She has lived with us for two years. You may see her come and go, but really will not have much interaction.

Interaction with Guests

We will be available by phone and email.

The Neighborhood

Overlook is safe, clean, friendly, a lot of families, trees, flowers, very walkable. Close to bike routes, bus stops, parks, cafes.

Getting around

Yellow Max Line is not far (0.7 mile, 15 minute walk approx). Bus Lines very close, just around the corner from our house. Check out (website hidden)
Free parking on the street. House is easy to get to from the airport, quick to get downtown, and also quick to get on Interstate-5. Good location for exploring Portland.

Check In
  • This was our first experience with Airbnb and it was great. Christina made the transaction very easy. Their home was clean, comfortable and we really enjoyed just seating in the living room and talking late into the night. Checking in/out was flexible and convenient.
We walked about 0.7 miles to the Max station to get into downtown.
We tried several of the local restaurants and all we very good. Notables were breakfast (& the beer too) at the Greeley Ave Bar & Grill, beer at the Lucky Labrador, and dinner and drinks at The Old Gold.

  • We rented the Christina's house for our visiting kids and grandchildren. They loved staying at the house as it included everything they needed for the two babies and its close proximity to coffee shop and restaurants which the kids enjoyed. We celebrated the Christmas day at the house which was perfect with its festive decorations. The house itself is quite charming and is minutes from downtown Portland. We will gladly rent the house for our future family reunions. Thank you Christina and family for sharing your home.

  • Nice house in a cute part of North Portland. Excellent for families, given the crib, toys and back yard area. We would definitely stay here again, if we came back to Portland. One bedroom (with crib and queen bed) and bath were downstairs, and then the rest of the rooms were upstairs, so we had to be separated from our littlest one, but it worked fine because we brought our monitor. Really very child and family friendly.

  • The description page does not do this cute and well maintained house justice. Upon arrival, we found the place to be very clean with so many little touches that make a traveller feel at home. (enough coffee to get us through a morning, spices, condiments and other great kitchen things to make cooking fun, wonderful toys for our daughter to play with, ...).
The neighborhood is safe and full of coffee shops and places to eat.
Christina's place is a dream to stay at especially if you have a small child in tow but even if you don't.
Stay here if you would like to feel comfortable in a fabulous house and neighborhood. Don't stay here if you like stale and stuffy.
