From greeting at arrival to departure farewells, we were made welcome and wonderfully comfortable by Julia. The place is amazing - cozily and attractively decorated and with everything supplied to feel very much at home. Not only toaster oven, microwave, fridge and stove but also an awesome espresso machine. Coffee, teas, chocolate (& wine!) were supplied along with a basket of cheeses, crackers and fruit. The bathroom offered toiletries. Even slippers in our closet. We couldn't imagine anything that could have made it a more perfect roost.
Set in a walled garden, it was peaceful and cheery. An easy walk down to the city shopping areas and sights or up to the vast green common for walks or lazing about.
Highly recommend Julia as hostess and her place for a fine stay.
Julia provided us with a very warm welcome to her lovely studio which was more spacious than expected. The kitchenette is well equiped, and to our surprise Julia provided a variety of teas and coffee, plus a starter breakfast and snack pack which was a real treat. The property is in an excellent location for driving and bus transport, and 5 minutes walk from supermarket, ATMs and restaurants. An easy thirty minute walk to the ferry for a day trip Isle of Wight, and short drives to Portsmouth, Salisbury, Winchester etc. Importantly, the bed was very comfortable, and good quality fluffy towels made for an excellent base to enjoy the surrounding area.
We had a very nice stay at Julia's place. Although Julia was not there to meet us, everything was very clear and well in order.
All in all we enjoyed Southampton and we look back to a very nice few days over there
Warmwatervoorziening was overigens prima
Julia is a fantastic host, imformative and most welcoming. The room is exactly as described, impeccable clean, well thought out, private and such a relaxing enviroment. I strongly recommend and would be most happy to return for future stays.
Good location, and Julia is very helpful. Only thing is: the bathroom is too small for people like me (6'6 tall), otherwise it's just good for anyone!
What a warm welcome, with all instructions needed. Julia made us feel very much at home, especially during the Christmas period far away from our own families. We had a nice "Christmas-Drink" together which made us really feel family-like. We hope to come back.
Thank you so much.
