Great cabina! The place was exactly as described. Just a few short minutes walk and we were in town or the national park or the beach. Jackie was very accommodating- Met us in town when we arrived and checked on us a few times to make sure we were doing ok. This place is PERFECT and we can't wait to come back.
Had a great time staying in The Cozy Little Cabin. Everything was as advertised and very comfortable.
Jackie was very friendly an always looking for ways to be helpful, hooking me up with a bike rental and tour options. She provides a phone and wifi in the cabin, which I didn't expect but appreciated. The cabin was simple and had everything I needed. I recommend bringing a flashlight if come back after dark as there is one small part of the road that isn't lit.
I recommend getting there early because it gets dark and is hard to find. Having said that the location is perfect! It is right in the heart of the bustling downtown area but set apart so that you can rest and sleep at night. Beautiful surroundings to see animals and rest in a hammock. This place is great for snorkeling and it is part of one of the national forests. Beautiful beaches and you are in the Caribbean. Spend no more less than 4 days. It is a relaxing island and the host can tell you about a bunch of spots... FYI for food visit Miss Ediths cafe, it's wellllllll worth it!
We very much enjoyed our stay in the little cabin in Cahuita! Jackie was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us a very warm welcome. The cabin is conveniently located just outside the town down a little side road by the entrance to the national park. The location is quiet and private. The garden setting is very picturesque and we enjoyed sitting on the little patio watching the world go by. The cabin is basic but has everything that you could wish for. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the fan and mosquito net. We would definitely recommend staying here, if you enjoy being surrounded by nature and getting a feel for the local life.
We loved this little cabin. It was a great location, very comfortable, and a perfect fit for our travels. Monkeys and Sloth's in the trees around the hose kept us entertained, and our hostess was great!
My wife and I had a wonderful stay in Jackie's cabin in Cahuita.
The cabin at the front of the property is down a quiet dirt road just a short walk from the town centre / beach / national park. It's cozy and comfortable with everything you need - mosquito net, hammock, small kitchen, full bathroom, and wifi (which only worked outside of the cabin for us, but may work in the cabin if you have a better phone)
Jackie was very nice and extremely helpful with anything we needed. She helped us with directions, transportation suggestions, restaurant suggestions, activity suggestions (including hooking us up with a great horseback riding trip), and more. We were planning on going to an animal rescue centre in Cahuita, but Jackie suggested that the centre in nearby Puerto Viejo would be better. She took the time to call the centre for us and make sure we didn't arrive when there wasn't a tour.
I highly recommend Cahuita Houses if you're looking for the perfect combination of privacy and local support. And make sure you go to Coco's for the fish!
Jackie is a lovely person, gentle by nature, humerous and a fantastic host. She is there if you need her for anything, but also gives you space to enjoy your time without intrusion.
The cabin is a very short walking distance to the entrance of the National Park and centre of a town accesed down a tree and flower filled lane. Its set in lovely grounds with an abundance of nature all around you.
Each morning we were woken by the magnificent sound of the howler monkeys, we ate breakfast on the porch whilst watching the brightly coloured birds and butterflies.
The cabin is lovely, well equipped, good bed, bathroom, washing line, coffee machine, cooker and good crockery.
It has was a fantastic experience and we can highly recommend this host and accommodation.
We stayed for eight nights in the perfect cozy little cabin. Breakfast on the private porch area watching monkies, sloths, crabs, lizards, birds and butterflies was pure paradise.
Cahuita is a lovely small town with a variety of stunning beaches and has the benefits of being against the entrance to the national park (5 minute walk from cabin).
Jackie was a wonderful hostess friendly, laid back, helpful and good company especially for my wife whilst I was fishing.
The cabin had all facilities required and everything worked making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The 3 burner gas hob was great and allowed us to cook excellent meals durring our stay. There was even a knife with a good edge for prepping veg and a coffee machine to get us up and running in the mornings.
We wouldn't hesitate to recomend the cozy cabin to future guests as are sure they would enjoy it as much as us.
Thank you Jackie.
nice and very helpful English speaking host, very close to town center and entrance of national park, beautiful tropical garden (watch the monkeys climbing around the trees during your breakfast!!!).
We had our own little cabin with own kitchen and bathroom, all very clean and in a perfect condition, mosquito nets for the bed (queen size I guess) was available.
All in all a perfect stay! Thanks!
