Beautiful double bedroom in central location. Seconds from restaurants and cafes on Bermondsey Street, short walk to London Bridge, great transport links and famous Borough market. Views of leafy communal gardens and newly built Shard. Perfect for a relaxing work trip or the ideal base for your holiday in London.
The apartment has a unique, green and peaceful outlook on the second floor of a small apartment block - all aspects facing well-kept gardens. Scandinavian design throughout with a solid, modern kitchen and cosy living area. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed with quality linen and bedspread, natural wool rug and a writing desk for working in peace and floor to ceiling windows. The bathrooms are luxury and the apartment is always impeccably clean throughout.
You will have access to the master bedroom and the rest of the apartment which includes a large, open living area and kitchen with a study area, two bathrooms - one with a bath and one with a huge shower, and the bike store at entrance level.
Interaction with Guests
I'm always interested to talk to the guests we have here but find that usually it's nice to chat a bit and then people like to get on with their holiday or work - whichever works is fine with me!
We're very close to Bermondsey Street with all it's cafes and shops and the new White Cube Gallery. Tate Modern is a short walk away and Borough Market just minutes walk, as is the river Thames, Tower Bridge and the newly developed Shard skyscraper and even more locally Bermondsey Square antiques market is every Friday and there is a farmer's market on Saturdays.
The Northern and Jubilee lines both go from London Bridge Station which is minutes away. The overground mainline services to all major London and national destinations, including a direct link to Gatwick airport depart from there. There is also a brand new bus station serving the whole of London from your doorstep.
Other Things to Note
For breakfast we always have cereals and bagels with jams etc and tea and coffee for you to help yourself.
No smoking please
Laura was a very convenient host - very helpful but discrete at the same time. The room was definitely an asset, given its cleanliness, cozyness and of course the great view over the park. I truly encourage everyone who is looking for a nice place to stay in central London to catch up with Laura - you won#t be disappointed!
I stayed for 4 nights with Laura. Her place is as described, except it is even nicer. It was spotless clean, very comfortable (that bed is heaven, just hard to leave in the morning). The neighborood is fantastic (I recommend the Boro Bistrot in the area and great!). Laura is a fantastic host, she makes you feel at home and finds the right balance between being welcoming and getting on with her life. What else to ask for?
No disappointments with the choice I made. Everything as advertised.
Comfortable room and nice view towards a small park and the Shard. The neighborhood is absolutely OK, unless you have a squirrel phobia. Close to the tube and buses, restaurants and Borough market. 25-30 minutes on foot from St. Paul Cathedral.
I recommend booking with Laura
Laura is super generous and friendly, and has a great apartment in a convenient part of London. A++ would stay again.
Sehr, sehr gerne wieder!!
Laura was in New York when I stayed. Her friend Liam was there and very helpful. The apartment is very nice and in a great location. The floor to ceiling windows and view of the shard from the bedroom were most impressive. The bedroom overlooks a garden meaning it was very peaceful which is incredible considering how close to the city it is. The shower is good with proper pressure. The neighbourhood has some great restaurants and bars all in walking distance. I chose Jose Navarro's tapas bar. Despite being pricey the quality is very good and they have created an environment which produces an authentic tapas bar feel. Having lived in Madrid for many years it was a pleaseant and familar experience. I would stay again.
Perfekte Location, alles hat gut geklappt. Zuvorkommend und alle Infos zur Hand. Sehr gerne wieder!

I'm an artist and freelancer and my boyfriend, Dan, is also an artist and private tutor in maths and science. We both have MA's in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College in London and spend half the time working on various projects here in London and further away. The rest of the time I freelance as a model-maker to an opera set designer and for architects. I'm from London but my Mother is Finnish so my sensibilities (including the feel of my home) are noticeably Nordic. Dan is from New York and we both travel around a lot with our artwork. When we're at home in London we cycle everywhere and love cooking and having friends round. Wine of course!
