About this listing

The space

Hollis Hill bed and breakfast is a newly built log house in the heart of the West Dorset countryside. The village of Broadwindsor is a mere eight or so miles from the Jurassic Coastal market town of Bridport. We have good transport links - Crewkerne station (London mainline) is about ten minutes away and there are reasonable bus routes. We have plenty of off road parking.

Broadwindsor itself sits at the foot of Lewesdon Hill and there are numerous wonderful walks and cycle routes in the area. Enjoy a meal in our local pub with a pint of the locally brewed beer. The great houses of Montacute and Kingston Lacey are not too far away. There are also the beaches of West Bay and Burton Bradstock nearby and the glorious sands of Weymouth and Bournemouth a little further afield.

Our house is warm and welcoming. This bedroom has a king size bed with an en suite shower and views over the countryside. Breakfast is served in the hall which has glass folding doors to let the summer in and a woodburner to keep the winter out! Enjoy a full English breakfast or delicious cooked alternative. You will be offered tea and piece of cake on arrival and there are tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom.

Great experience in every way! The perfect location (in the countryside and walking distance from the village pub), warm, friendly, kind and super thoughtful hosts ... the room and facilities were superb and as for the breakfasts (amazing granola and wonderful fresh eggs!!) ... Felt like a home from home! Thank You so much Cindy and Ken for opening your doors!

We had a great stay in this beautiful location surrounded by fields, country air and stunning views. Our hosts were really friendly, helpful and welcoming.. they served a delicious 3 course breakfast and helped us with all the local knowledge required. The sun was shining so we enjoyed a stroll to the village pub for Sunday Roast, a walk up to the top of a big local hill with views as far as the sea, and Crewkerne station was only a 12 minute drive away. The house itself is new and made of wood and looks so unique and feels great! The room was really comfortable, relaxing and quiet - perfect for a good night's sleep. We would recommend this B n B to anyone looking for a weekend escape somewhere calm and friendly. 5 Stars!

Our stay with Cindy and Ken was excellent. What a breathtaking setting and a beautiful house - such a stunning view over the rolling hills for breakfast! Our hosts were extremely accommodating going over and beyond to help us with a running route and advising on other aspects to make our stay easier. Breakfast was delicious and the room was brilliant, immaculately clean and a super comfortable bed. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay! :D

Cindy gave us a wonderful welcome, offering us a cup of tea and a piece of delicious homemade carrot cake. Nothing was too much trouble and she and her husband went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The view from the bedroom was as glorious as described and, if it hadn't been for the fact that we were in a B & B, we could have spent the day looking at the view from the dining area. (The breakfasts were pretty spectacular too). The B & B is set in a commanding position at the top of a hill and is in a good position to explore the surrounding area. The icing on the cake was meeting the new chickens (source of the wonderful eggs at breakfast), housed a few metres up the road! We can highly recommend this Airbnb.

This was my first Airbnb experience and I am very happy about it! I contacted Cindy regarding her Rampisham bedroom for a last minute trip, and it was already booked but she had another bedroom which is not advertised online and which is also en-suite with a nice view and a very comfortable double bed. The house is very cosy and nice, as on the pictures, and Cindy and her husband were very nice and welcoming, giving us advices about what to do in the area. The granola I had for breakfast is just delicious: Cindy makes it herself (she is also a very good baker, she made a chocolate-beetroot cake that was scrumptious)! My partner and I really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away in the nature in a nice place.

I have lived in West Dorset for many years and love my country life. We enjoy walking, going to the beach and generally living the good life in this beautiful part of the world.
