Fairlie & Mark were most welcoming. You will not be disappointed. The king size bed is very comfortable, the breakfast on both mornings was very generous in quantity and quality, the garden and pool were beautiful tropical and a delight to walk amongst. The bathroom attached to your room is semi outdoors but safe from Cane toads entering!!! We actually spent some time together with the hosts one evening on their front verandah and much wine was consumed along with great conversation. Thanks again.
We spent 4 days at Mark & Fairlie's lovely oasis. It was the perfect hideaway, close enough drive to the city (10 mins) and far enough from the hustle and bustle. There is also a bus stop down the street taht can take you into cairns center. The outdoor bathroom and tropical garden was beautiful while the pool provided a relaxing swim at the end of the day.
Mark & Fairlie's hospitality was AMAZING! They provided us with helpful info and a delicious breakfast basket every morning. So kind with their time, yet also gave us enough privacy to enjoy our space. We loved our stay at Tabu and didn't want to leave! Thank you ~ we hope to see you when you visit New York.
Mark & Fairlie were incredibly welcoming hosts! They are so, so nice and accommodating. The room was impeccably clean, the continental breakfast was delicious, and the location was lovely. The house is set, as described, in the foothills of the rainforest among hundreds of trees & tropical plants. They even offered to drive us to the airport when our stay was up - so generous!
Mark and Fairlie certainly have an eye for beauty. Tabu, a stunning Balinese-style bungalow with its own deck opening onto the most amazing tropical garden surpassed our expectations many time over.
We loved the king size bed, the indoor-outdoor bathroom and delicious breakfasts of tropical fruit and French pastries from the local bakery, which Fairlie left in the morning in a picnic hamper outside our room.
Our hosts were great company and we enjoyed having a laugh together. Generous and welcoming, they invited us to participate in their 'goings on', but did not intrude on our space.
Positioned on the edge of the rainforest and surrounded by a luscious mini-botanic garden, featuring jungle plants from around the world, Tabu gave us a great experience of the tropics. Just what we needed before heading back to Melbourne Winter.
We could not think of a reason to stay anywhere else when in Cairns again (hopefully, same time next year).
Tabu Rainforest WOW what a lovely peaceful place to stay. Fairlie and Mark were wonderful hosts. They welcomed us with open arms into their art decor home.
The room was a "beautiful haven" clean bright comfortable king size bed and all facilities available as mentioned was a perfect start to the holiday before we headed up to Cape york 4W driving. The served Continential breakfast was lovely prepared each morning with fresh breads and fruits and breakfast cereals to enjoyed out on the deck surrounded by the wild rainforest they have as their fantastic Garden.
Close to shops 5 minutes by car. Train to Karanda 5 minutes walk away. Mark and fairlie were very happy to assist us in making our stay more enjoyable. They were very accommodating hosts that made us feel very at home during our stay and would higly recommend everyone and our friends to stay at Tabu B&B. All the best Wishes to you both.
