We have 3 cabins, each identical. They are 650 square feet, with a kitchen, bath and living area downstairs and upstairs is a queen sized bed, TV and a balcony from which to enjoy the cool morning as you sip some excellent Costa Rican coffee.
Your stay will be in a private bungalow, you'll have a full kitchen where you can cook, or you can just keep your "fluids" in the refrigerator and go out for your meals! The downstairs can sleep two or three kids and you and your bride/groom (or partner) can have a more private quarters upstairs.
We welcome you to ask for anything you need and don't find! We have a DVD player and a bunch of great DVD movies too! The girls we have who clean the place up may have time to do a load of laundry for you for a small fee. That will be between the two of you!
Interaction with Guests
Bob and Sue can usually be found hanging around the courtyard in the late afternoon. Bob might play a few tunes on his "mouth harp" for you if you ask kindly! If you see us down in the courtyard, feel free to come down and join us. We often will have some afternoon goodies to share too!
With two Spanish schools nearby we sometimes will see folks from there walking or biking down to the grocery store. People are generally friendly and you should be sure to stop in and say "hello" to Alison at "la Petite Cafe" on the main road near the ABC Realty. Tell her Bob and Sue sent you!
There are lots of excursions you can book and many will pick you up right at the cabins. There are fishing trips, zip-lining outings, rainforest explorations... Day trips!
It's an easy walk to the beach, to shops, to places to eat and it's a great way to explore the area at the same time!
Other Things to Note
We would be happy to pick you up at the airport if you let us know in advance. Sometimes people like that extra level of security in knowing they will get to the right cabins! As long as we can, we'll meet you at the airport. Just don't expect us to meet a flight that gets in at 11pm!!! Contact us in advance!
We know some visitors will want to party a bit, but if there are others staying in cabins next to you, please keep the noise down and at a respectful level. If you want to party, just get some friends and rent the whole place!!! Then all you have to contend with is Bob and Sue!!! No drugs allowed.
I stayed in Cabin #2 for a full week with a total of 4 people. I originally booked one of the other cabins due to it just being my boyfriend and I. Bob and Sue were extremely accommodating with transferring us to this cabin as it had the extra 2 beds that we needed for the extra 2 people.
Bob and Sue greeted us on our arrival and they gave us a tour of the place. Cabin was stocked with bath towels and even beach towels to use for the week, which turned out great. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The upper bedroom had the AC, which worked perfectly and also had a futon. The property felt safe with it being gated with only access through a key or a combination lock to get into the premises as well as having a key to our own bungalow.
This bungalow hit home with my boyfriend and his family as they come from a military background and this bungalow was named after Bob and Sue's friend Bill who had served his country. "Bill's Bungalow"
We all enjoyed our stay in Tamarindo and cannot say enough good things about the hosts.
Bob and Sue really know how to make you feel welcome in their blue wooden cabins. We stayed in #4 enjoying the nice job Bob did with the remodeling. Though "cabina" will trigger your perception into "back to basic" this blue cosy wooden house is fitted with A/C, two small terraces, large fridge, hot water shower and a stove with 4 burners. Clean and well maintained. Gated property. Bella the dog is a friendly companion. To the beach is a 5 minute (or less) walk so the noise of the beach bars will not bother you. If you are a surfer bring your board, especially surfing at Playa Grande at Taco Star is awesome. Enjoy! We did 100% :-)
Disfruta!
Bob and Sue welcomed us with open arms ever since we first booked their Tamarindo cabin. They were easy to communicate with leading up to our trip, as well as during the times of our stay. Both were very accommodating and they genuinely wanted to make the most our vacation by providing us great suggestions/resources for activities and restaurants. They had connections to local people/companies, which allowed us to book tours and activities very easily.
The cabin came as advertised and was furnished with everything (air conditioning, refrigerator, towels, dishes, beds, etc.) you needed for your stay. It was a short walk (10-15 min) to the beach and to the downtown area of restaurants, bars, and stores. We also felt safe the entire time of our stay.
Our whole experience was fantastic. It was great meeting Bob and Sue, as well as their friendly pets Bella (dog) and Buster (cat). We wished we could have stayed longer! Our only regret was not getting a picture with our awesome hosts.
Bob & Sue are fantastic hosts. They waited for us to hand us our room keys and make sure we were comfortable since we were arriving late. They were very helpful in giving us hints and tips on places to visit.
The room itself was great, very spacious and with all you need for a great stay. Location is perfect: you are in Downtown Tamarindo wich offers all commodities you can expect (supermarkets, drug stores, bars & restaurants, etc) but also within a short drive to many wonderful, hidden, off the beaten path beaches.
All in all, a perfect stay!
Cabin was nice, right next to the beach. Our hosts were wonderful, great people. We loved our stay! Sue's brownies are amazing!
The Cabin was pretty cool.
They have a shower to wash off sand before getting in.
Its really close to the main area of Tamarindo.
House is gated and locked so security was not an issue.
Bob and Sue were very kind when we arrived and everything was pretty smooth.
Air conditioning in house worked well.
Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful stay in our little blue cabin. We didn't get to meet Sue but Bob was very welcoming and helpful. The place felt very secure and safe, near to town but in a quiet area. Our cabin was spotless and very well equipped, A/c worked well overnight.
The dogs greeted us noisily but were friendly.
We would highly recommend staying with Bob and Sue and would love to return one day.
